I have sold 2x After Eight paint in the past week at 6.66 Ref. This paint was worth 7-8 Ref not even a month ago. The recent price drop is unjustified.
Please support your future suggestions with evidence; opinions aren't evidence, links to trades or screenshots are.

This is my very first ever price suggestion, so please excuse me for not being entirely familiar with the process. I will certainly take FYDM's suggestion to take screenshots for future reference. All I know if what I have sold them for recently. I just attempted to make a price suggestion change on Bill's Hats as well, but cannot due to an apparent -score from this post. I spend more time on trade servers than on outpost, and pick up pretty quickly on trends for particular items. Bill's hats are becoming very difficult to sell for 10 keys (painted white/black). I have observed several people attempting to sell at these prices, with no success. I even had to sell my own for 9 keys a peice, because I had no biters at 10 Keys (what they are apparently worth). While this site is a great base for suggested prices, it's definitely not the be all that ends all. I thank you both for your feedback, and will definitely take it into consideration when suggesting price changes in the future! :)
Of course its not the end all...that's why prices are constantly being updated and there is a constant need to update prices. Anyways in order to have a better chance of having your suggestion pass I would recommend providing evidence, either from your trade history, or trade site links (such as tf2outpost.com) to better support your suggestion.
one person selling 1 or 2 of an item dosen't justify a need for a price change. things are sold above and below the range sometimes but a price change requires a significant amount of traders buying and selling said item for the suggested price that is backed by convincing proof of successful trades.
Prices only cover the basic version of an item. Please do not suggest a price change for items based on paint alone--paint is handled by a separate system, and we are currently refining it.

LOL.... just trying to help out the community with keeping prices realistic. I understand that because I am new to sugegsting prices, there may be some reluctance to "trust" any suggestion I make. All I can say is that looking forward you will quickly notice that any price suggestions I make are justified with substantial evidence. Until the next post, may the trolls continue to troll! lol

I can figure this suggestion is wrong, but telling a first time suggester that he's basically an idiot isn't helping. backpack.tf didn't gain its popularity because it put prices on items, but because the first people who used it liked it and spread the word. To discourage newcomers like this hurts the reputation of this site and what it stands for as being a community pricing site. To be one of the regular people that uses the site and then bash someone who thinks they might have a good suggestion, whether it is valid or not, looks poorly on you and what you represent since you are a slightly more active user than most.
yes maybe i was a bit rough on him.doesn't fix the fact that he won't provide proof. and refuses to do so and doesn't listen to the voters
Please scroll down for a post which contains a picture to provide some proof for any sceptics out there. I have not refused anything, just so everyone is clear on that. I have provided as much proof as I currently can, and will work on giving even further proof with future suggestions (and even on this one, if I am able to get ahold of the buyer(s))

It's all good. I am quite a bit older than the typical tf2 user. These types of comments come to me as no suprise, and I do not take them personally. I will always be true to myself, and that is all that matters to me. People need to remain sceptical in order to have a realiable and trustworthy community. Sure, some of the comments are inappropriate, but many of them likely stem from frustration with others that post eroneous price suggestions on purpose. Trolls will continue to be trolls. Especially on the internet, there isn't much the rest of us can do, aside from lead by example. I have taken the suggestions from everyone (rude or not) equally, and have posted a picture with what proof I currently have. Hope this helps any sceptics! :)

Too bad there's no way to "proove" without a screenshot. I know what I have sold After Eight paint for recently, and that is what matters most to me. It's not secret that tf2's economy has so much room for error, but it is what it is. I'd rather have a reference point that is flawed and full of errors, than no reference point whatsoever. I thank each of you for the feedback on my first price suggestion post. I will take each suggestion into future reference. For now, it's back to the trading servers. Catch you in game! :)

Not sure how to post pictures here, but here is my Outpost post that says what I was selling the item for, and who purchased the item. I guess there is no way of "prooving" what the person paid me for it, though if I can get in touch with them and have them confirm on here the price they paid me, perhaps that would help my credibility for some. I can't help but see some obvious flaws with this system, but as I have mentioned in previous posts, I understand the reasoning for providing as much proof as possible, and will attempt to provide even further proof for future suggestions.
If what you are showing is a tf2outpost.com trade, then it'd be easier to just copy and paste the url. Screenshots are mostly used to show a trade from your Steam Inventory History.

I do have to add, that it is quite unfortunate that this community has been one of the most unhelpful communities I have encountered in my online gaming experiences. I would encourage those that have nothing nice to say to say nothing at all. Anyhow, I thank all those that had possitive and or constructive critisism comments, and the ones that actually put some effort forth in assisting. :)
You know, backpack.tf should have a little section explaining how price suggestions should be like; what proof consists of, what kind of proof is needed, etc
Btw, you should close this price suggestion if you are not going to provide further proof. One link will most likely not be enough for a paint.

The last suggestion shows that these can be gotten for current range fairly easily. Outliers will happen no matter our price, and so your two trades are not really convincing evidence to change it.
The sale dented this items price substantially. I don't see any problem with the pricing for it at the moment.
The reason for the drop in value is the very recent addition of the two formerly crate-exclusive paints (mann mint and after eight) being added to the Mann co. Store for $2.49. The market adjusted accordingly, and it was used as proof to lower the price. Would like to see the trade history screenshots though.
