Except that's not what I meant. I interpreted Mulder's comment as saying that Long's key suggestions have finally come back and blew up in his face, but I was making an indirect joke about the fact that I don't think he realized that Long can't trade anymore anyways.

the market needs to settle after a suggestion is accepted before anothers proof can be valid.

The reason why suggestions are made is because the price reflected here is inaccurate, meaning the market is settling in at a different price than what is shown here.

This site is not the market - trade sites and trade servers are.

Even tf2warehouse (24.75 keys) is filled up. Meaning so many people have sold it for a little under 25 Keys, the 25 keys in the range is maybe not so accurate anymore. Upvoted.

what's wrong with buds? why are they dropping so fast? and also, why doesn't their dollar value drop as well? (or maybe that's just a reaction to make their dollar value close to what it was before. now it says 24 keys = $37,30. weird...)

also, first trade i saw on trade post is this: http://tf2tp.com/trade.php?trade=9347508 and tffinance is at 23,50 keys now. i think 23-24 would be better and you could find proof supporting that range

this was submitted a bit ago when 24 seemed more reasonable, but yes 23-24 seems more accurate now.

As of right now, Finance is hovering around 23.75.

Shows you that we can't change the price just because it dips and rises back up quickly.

It's because key price is going up. So far keys were rising only in metal and were stable at around $1.3. Now they sell easily at $1.6. Looks like traders became tired of high price in metal and started buying keys with cash.

I think this price will settle at 21 - 22 keys if people are wanting $35 for buds and $1.60+ for keys.

Here is the thing though; the keys are valued in metal. It does go up, but it is still being dependent on metal.

Buying keys through Paypal is around $1.35, give or take a couple cents, but it does not ever really change. Just because more metal is required to purchase a key now, it does not mean the price of the key is going up to… let’s say $1.60. It is quite the opposite actually. The key price is staying the same while the price of metal is being driven down.

Now, Buds are dependent on keys (as backpack states on their Spreadsheet). But the argument that key prices are going up, thus making the bud price go down does not seem logical here.

If the argument was true, then the Paypal bud prices must go down to accommodate this "raise in key price." That is the thing though, if we are using real world money, the price of the key does not change drastically as metal pricing does, if it changes at all. The bud price is still $34 (on finance and I KNOW someone will point at finance and just say, "look here" and give me no argument back) and sold through Paypal for around $30 (buyer’s price)- $35 (seller’s price) still.

The pricing of the buds in real world money should go down if this really was the case. Let's say the average price of keys is $1.35 and the bud price was 26 keys. This would be around $35 per bud.

Now, the price of a bud (in keys) is going down. What is being suggested here is 24 keys per a bud. This would make the price of the buds around $32 ish dollars.

It isn't much of a difference, but it still is affecting the prices. How can you say that the price of buds is going down when their prices are somewhat fixed in real world money (fluctuates a little depending on the seller)?

But to keep this $34 price of buds, we cannot drop the price of the buds in relation to keys here, because it won’t be around the $34 range anymore. Finance is an average, but to have this $34 price, which means that there has to be more $34 sales than $30 sales to have this average. So, are people going to drop their price of buds from $34 to god knows what? God no, people won’t do that unless a site “tells them to,” hell a lot of people will not any ways. Because it seems everyone goes somewhere to find a price for something. Does that mean they follow it? Nope. Price for keys is whatever it is, and then people add a little to make profit. The same will be done with real world money of course. Everyone is out to profit, that is how we work and get ahead (generally). Merchanters, resellers, pawn shops, etc.

We cannot keep dropping the price here and we cannot keep raising the price of other items. And the idea of something being dependent on something that is also dependent on another thing does not seem right. This meaning, buds are dependent on keys, and keys are dependent on metal. I am not saying price everything in metal, oh god no. But, everything just seems jumbled and messing with one of the lower commodities really does affect higher tier stuff too greatly. Buds went down from 27 keys to 24 keys. 10 bud unusual went down 30 keys. Once again, it kind of seems fishy that these lower commodities being changed slightly can affect higher grade/tier items so greatly.

“Real world money and online money are two different things.” I do not want to hear that. This “online money” can be transferred to real world money. So, everything comes back to real world money. It is just a reversible process, kind of like equilibrium in Chemistry (nerdy analogy entered at the end there). >.>

God, I need to stop. Time to play around… LONG, SNAP ON THIS COMMENT AND GET BANNED! I WANT TO SEE IT! Just kidding. I rather not hear from Long, because I just am tired of dealing with him, seeing him, or existing in the same world as him (okay, I went overboard there xD). Someone else, if you do not mind. Advocate or argue with this whole rant. I enjoy a challenge. :)

Also, a little food for thought. When you profit a bit, someone else is losing the same amount you just made. We all did it and we all still do it. No one who is a "serious trader" is innocent of this. We made 1 key, someone else loses a key or half a key and another will lose a half. It just goes down the line. Fun is it not?

its all becouse of this site , im sorry but most of ppl are taking thire prices from there , and most off ppl are quickselling thire buds cause they are pretty sure that the price gonna drop day after day on this site , so please just keep the price as 24-25 for just 1 week and im pretty sure that the price gonna go up again or just gonna settle at that! , cause if u gonna keep doing this the price will be at 15 keys one day ..

Nope, it's most likely the Greater Fool Theory in effect. According to Bushiness Dictionary, it is defined as "an observation that any price (no matter how unrealistic) can be justified if a buyer believes that there is another buyer who will pay an even-higher price for the same item. This line of thinking causes and fuels stockmarket and commodity market booms and manias which, in due course, lead to busts and paranoias."

People are buying keys now with the intent of reselling them at a higher price. More profit for them, but eventually it will bite them hard in the arse. Likewise, it could also be the inevitability that a spring steam sale is coming soon and people are getting ready to sell their keys via steam community market to buy games.
