Suggestion: Mann Co. Supply Crate Key at 4.55–4.66 ref

Kind of want ocolus to analyze my proof…anyways as many recent suggestions have shown keys are selling for higher and higher. The other two suggestions that are open have proof that keys are currently selling above my suggested range, but I believe that they are too high based on the average price tf2finance has been providing.

Feel free to downvote, I will hold nothing against you for it. I understand people are frustrated with keys prices, I get that, but I believe this is the lesser of any of the evils currently open because I fear of a moderator deciding to accept a higher key price than this one which would be terrible for the average daily trader who just wants to unbox and get lucky or buy a cool misc to show off to his friends.

Note to moderators: tf2finance explicitly states "Please use this page for daily average or long-term trends only." If you would allow this suggestion to stay up for more than a day and more preferably between 2-3 days, it'd help show whether or not the trend continues to progress upwards overtime. I say this since the last suggestion was accepted 22 hours ago yet the two new ones that have popped up with an incredibly high bump in price for such a commonly traded item are still up (one for more than half a day). I do not believe that either one reflects the current market value for keys since the gaps are too big and keys have barely scraped over 4.66 refined based on graph and average selling price that is currently listed.

Nope, frankly I'd rather have the price stay as is, but these other suggestions have been up too long which worries me about one of them possibly being accepted. If you so wish to suggest 4.55-4.77 refined be my guest, but I won't condone such an action.

Just meant based on the average of tf2finance and the plenty of buyers available at 4.66. I personally wish Keys wouldn't rise either.

On a side note: I've always wanted to know who these random dislikers are that just scroll down the page and just click dislike on every comment they doesn't agree with their point of view, agrees with the suggestion, or just dislikes because its a comment from the suggester. What do they gain out of that?

I think the reason why they do it is because they think people who don't have the same view towards key suggestions are trying to manipulate key prices in one way by using bp.tf and something about a secret cult with the mods or something.

Hmmmmm, I never really understood how to thoroughly prove that part. I could list people buying for 4.44 refined that have no comments on their trade and call them unsuccessful, but it would be unclear whether that statement would be true or not.

I'm am (or was) the 4.77 buyer. I've sold over 50 keys on steam market within the last 24 hours. I've spent over 100 ref on keys for 4.77, to be honest I lost track after I spent the first 75 ref.

I don't mind however if people discount me, I'd rather key prices were lower I just pay so much because I want people to do the work of finding keys for me.

That's just shameless of you to come here onto a key suggestion and complain, then go behind people's backs and sell keys for higher than listed price therefore fueling this endless rise of key prices.

You state that backpack.tf's price was outdated, but then what's the point of coming to this suggestion and saying that when you were willing to sell keys for higher days ago. I still am not increasing the key price over 4.66 refined. I simply raising the lower end of the suggested range in order to force an automatic close of the other suggestions unless a moderator is willing to take a stand and close them all putting the price on lock-down for a week or so like it should be after such a highly traded item gets updated.

Of course. One of the reasons I get on backpack.tf is to see how much keys have risen. I mean, I don't like it at all, but it's just something I do now. I'd honestly be surprised if there weren't any key suggestions when I visit.

Considering that, when I bought keys earlier today at 4.66 Ref each, I got two adds in about a minute by willing sellers (both with multiple keys, but I could only buy three so guy 2 was out of luck) I can't see 4.77 being in the range atm, let alone 4.88.

you know the only way to make key prices go down is to either 1. stop selling keys for metal only for hats, unusuals ect. 2. close outpost down because most of the price rises are because people on outpost selling them at like 4.88 and all that shit.

Everyone is tired, but you are keep trying. I don't know about other people but I just don't buy keys for metal anymore. I won't pay 2x more than year ago just because greedy people sell them always 1 scrap more than price on bp..

It is still in BETA.

It still documents a large number of actual key sales overtime rather than using outpost and other trading sites which are merely samples of the market and do not state the number of sales that took place. Just because something is in Beta does not mean it cannot be a useful tool in making a key suggestion. tf2finance cannot be the whole, but it can be a supporting base line in as market indicator that keys are still increasing. That is why I followed up on that with multiple links of people actively trying to buy in my suggested range.

tf2finance is currently almost a whole scrap above my suggested high-end, but I figure if the moderators are going to have to accepted any price it should be the one that least deviates from the one already set on Saturday. If it were ever true that backpack.tf was the cause of this, then that isn't apparent now since the free market for keys is currently holding most of its transactions above current backpack.tf range by quite a bit.

backpack.tf isn't the complete source of this. But just like with the current bud-crash it is being fueled by this site. When you're looking for proof 40% just says "bp.tf prices", 5% lives in the past and says "spreadsheet prices", 50% use bp.tf and add a bit and 5% sell for what they feel like is the right price. I'm not blaming this site for anything, I'm blaming the blind, mindless sheep that follow every step that's taken here.

I actually own 6, but they're all collector event keys, so they were stored with a different item signature than regular keys, so it shows up as me owning 0 instead.

Well by then ref will have been added to the market and driven way down. The same thing that happened to crates. And keys will be 249 ref.
