I've been upset by the key suggestions but this truly is crazy...high end becomes the new low end...

I found one possible succesful trade that was 16 hours old and in that time the trade noted could be changed. Actually it is almost impossible to give proof on keys these days, Inventory screenshots can be easily faked and copied and remade, tf2finance can be manipulated and is not accurate and lastly the sellers notes can be changed. How to get real proof?

Maybe record sales from an automated bot, that would be safe...

Nope, just that there is too many keys to price them by just 5 simple links, theoretically if you show 3 buyers @ 5 refined and they can buy 10 keys each there is at most 30 keys that can be bought for that price.

And what happens? The seller immediately gets put up as proof, thus allowing peolpe who like trading keys making a new suggestion, THeoretically, if I and 3 friends put up trades "Buying at 6 refined", we would be recorded as proof because we have lots of adds and hurr-durr

Without exception, there has never, NEVER been any solid proof at any key suggestion.

Of your high end proof, you have 1 possible transfer, which very possibly isn't sold for 5 refined because the notes changed due to the recent suggestions. And btw, I downvoted.

Keys are too big to handle with some links and a site stating a price, why can't no one deal with it...

Also like to point out, keys are mostly being used as currency.

Look on TF2Outpost. 90% of all trades for keys involve trading keys for something other than metal.

Three questions:

1) Why do we have three key suggestions active simultaneously?

2) Why did the last three suggestions pass with negative votes (More to the point, 'What is the point of voting on these suggestions?'

3) Why are key prices skyrocketing for no particular rhyme or reason?

I'm confused.

answer 1 : Three people have different opinions about the current value of the key (finance tracks too little sales to be followed blindly, some highballers have success) so they all express that in a price suggestion on this website.

answer 2 : Way over 50% of all key suggest that get accepted receive more - than + votes. Voting is a way for the admins to see what the community thinks, but in the end proof is what makes the difference.

answer 3 : There is a reason. Due to pyromania and halloween keys rose slightly. The same happened during previous updates, but they fell back later on the other occasions. Now however speculants thought this was a brilliant way to get shitloads of virtual money. They were very right as keys are now double the value in refined it was autumn 2012. Even people who joined this madness of key reselling in march (yeah, only a bloody month ago) have a [bold]HUGE[/] profit margin. All we, normal traders can do is that like with the bitcoin, many speculators stop at a given point. They will have made more money than Bill fucking Gates, and there will be a spectacular drop. This sadly yet has to happen and even if it ever happens is dubious. I do believe it will happen in time (maybe when Valve releases hl3 or tf3)

I was actually pointing out the fact that we all need to ask ourselves those questions.

well I think that is purely coincidental. The key suggestions on this website did however fuel the rise in prices. Just like these days it's fueling the drop of buds. Note to self: The buds do seem to have stabilsed at 23.4 keys. It's not dropping anymore like it did 2-3 days ago. If you refreshed finance every 3 hours it would be .3 lower per refresh. That was insane

Well this is dumb, greedy kids want profit out of nothing. Facts are facts stats.tf shows 1,326,889 refined and 489,527 keys. You do the calculations, that is 2.7 per key not 5 ref. Say we add all the scrap and the reclaimed, and still we wont reach that 5 ref target you want to reach. Why make this kind of suggestions on refined if there is no solid proof? Since this shitty 'suggestion' thingy started people raised key price by a lot, reason? There is no reason, people want cheap profit in matters of reclaimed. All upvoted suggestions who were applied are based on buyers and sellers that doesnt even represent 0.0001% of actual market, you're talking about 1000 keys and say 10.000 refined, and that's it. Give morons a tool to vote and talk without proper proof and yeah they will raise the price like there is no tomorrow. Why? It's free and gives them that free reclaimed. GG. Can't wait for another madness craft everything you have to get a golden wrench. Wait to see what is going to happend then. Hah.
