(When a mod replies "that range"...that says to me, it's not going to pass...so I changed my low end)
Also, with key prices rising each day, 4.66 sales won't last much longer so I increased my low end.
5 ref is a nice even number, and traders are starting to agree as I see more and more 5 ref sales.

Like I said, 5 ref is a nice even number and as it gets closer, more and more traders are agreeing to pay up
naaaah need for more @5
Yeah. I think no one is buying at 5... I'm selling my keys for 4.88 easily. Not alot of people are going for 5. If you try to sell it for 5, you will rarely get a trade.
i mean it will hit it someday because of the economy but aw well ,, luckily not today
I sold 23 @ 5 each in last 2 days. Not the kind of volume I'd see at 4.88 but this is definitely a viable price.
Why did you get disliked for this? It's a perfectly plausible account that, after selling for 5 ref for a few days, doesn't seem the least but unrealistic.
If you agree with increasing a key price, your comment will get dislikes
Weathermen, when out in public, get insulted and even spit on by people who think meteorology causes thunderstorms.
The world is populated, mostly, by drooling fucking morons.
judging from these dislikes, i guess most people felt insulted
Maybe. Or maybe they were trying to eat the mouse. Can't tell with 'tards.

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10149867 - Buying for 5 ref
Keys i have sold at 5 ref
http://s24.postimg.org/gwaf8afqb/Keys_5_Ref.jpg
my experience is the same as this guy's, though he has probably done more volume. I've been selling at 5 ref since April 11th (a week ago):
April 11th: 2 keys
12th: 3 keys
13th: 34 keys (one guy bought 30)
14th: 1 key
15th: 11 keys @ 4.88 (reduced my price because I needed a bunch of metal), 4 keys @ 5 ref
16th: 20 keys
17th: 3 keys
Your comment is meaningless without proof
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10148801 < Much better :)
What does that prove or disprove? I closed the trade because I got a couple vintage bill's, not because I'm sold out, nor because I couldn't sell.
I'm not spending an hour making a collage out of my history like that other guy did, I took those numbers from my trading log.
And, as a buds trader, all of my key trades are recorded by tf2finance. No point exaggerating, just to have base64 show up and call me a liar.
Trying to buy one key for 4.55 right now, not getting any luck unfortunately i think this does need a price rise...
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9991694 only 5 ref in his bp = sold one

Link #2 & Link#5, he has TF2 open. You can get rid of this new icon easily when you run TF2.
I'm sure a lot of key sellers organize their BPs often as well.
Do you even check history? All you go by is "new"
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10152726 < check his BP before the "new" goes away
How isn't it?
Outpost - bunch hibollers, and can not be a proof. IMHO. Downvoted.
PS: banning all who raises prices
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8411919 < and your just as bad trying to buy for 4.44
And ban me, don't matter to me
Ahem. *You're
What are people supposed to use if not outpost? Tf2tp, and bazaar are rarely used, and extremely hard to get a ton of proof from trade servers.
if they were hiballers, they wouldn't be successful
tf2Finance at 4.8 which fits this range better.

wow you own 463 keys...
how is that relevant to his proof?
this is wut i think about you and your post http://youtu.be/ssC77hapv0g
I started tonight, and im selling EASILY at 5'33ref.
PROOFS:

score me -1 all you want. The fact is here.
"selling easily"
post only two trades with only 2 keys sold
you cool bro.
well, told you i started 10 minutes before i post?
2 diferent trades in less than half an hour doesnt make sense to you?
http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/400x/37117616.jpg
Welp...
Time for the hate.
Owns 463 keys and wants to raise it by 2 rec.. Hmmm........ Kidding
LOL, good one
Good one considering you'd get 308 ref if this passes.
he wouldn't "get" anything. He'd still have the same amount of keys. He is suggesting that this range is what people are currently paying for keys. So, if that is true, he could already get that extra refined just by selling them at this price on the market. He is not proposing to change what people are currently paying.
what would 308 ref do for me..most of the items I trade for costs keys in value, not ref...or do you mean 308 rep? Rep would be nice
From the looks of it, 10 people stopped reading after "2 rec."
most of the time when I see comments that are obv sarcasm with good thoughts toward suggestors and get upvoted I am not sure if the people know that it is sarcasm
Hope maybe? :P
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10125511
I report all of these raffle trades that I see on outpost.
You can't really report if they;re actually selling.
If they're actually selling, the trade will be done in 3 seconds and there is nothing to report.
"I will randomly choose one buyer when this gets 10000 views" is a raffle and they get closed if you report them.
One day....one day.....
Counter proof: http://puu.sh/2Czxa.png I know, I deserve negs for this.
"Owns: 463"
cuz owning the most popular currency is wrong.
and that I must get rid of all my keys before I raise the price so that it would seem legit.
Why is it the only people who make key suggestions to raise the price have 25-250 keys? The only reason keys are rising, indeed the ONLY reason, is because of greed.
EDIT: I bet the admins who pass these suggestions have some keys of their own.
I wonder what they would have if they didn't have keys. Oh that's right - stuff priced in keys. Your logic is flawed.
That would also count.
Not on the "owns X keys thing, and thats all the people look at
^ Or maybe it's because we don't have as much of a need for metal anymore?
Metal isn't sought after as much as it used to be. It's generated faster than people know what to do with it. Because of that, you know how many pages of key sellers there are on Outpost? Three.
You know how many pages of key buyers there are? Sixteen.
Everyone wants keys, but nobody wants metal.
Only 3 pages? sure your doing the proper searching?
I do agree that it lowered.
I hit "Search," placed 4 ref in the "Buying" section and 1 key in the "Selling" section, that's what I got.
Tried again with 1 ref, 1 rec, and 1 scrap in the buying section this time: Got 2 pages.
I usually just put 1 key and 1 ref
Here's what I noticed:
People who tend to raise key prices do generally have quite a few keys on them, not disagreeing with that. However, I've also noticed the people who have that many keys tend not to sell keys for metal. When people have that many keys, they are most likely in the unusual market or buying high-priced items (like 2011 Strange Festive weapons or high-tier crate 30 items).
That's not to say that some people with lots of keys aren't selling keys for metal. I'm sure some do, but usually people with that many keys find more profitable ways of making keys than reselling keys.
I don't really understand why it is wrong to own a lot of keys.
I mean it is probly the most craving currency right now with a good use, easy storage and easy to cash out.
I don't think people find it wrong to own lots of keys.
I think people think key owners are just trying to make a profit for themselves by trying to reflect key prices.
ohai, guking!
I did a search I think on Sunday. Seemed like all keys on OP were 4.88+ WH still has 3,000+ keys at 4.33 ref.
Then buy them and sell at 4.77?
A lot of people do....
Do you? If not then why? If yes, then why bother stating?
Obviously that isn't true, WH keys are flawed.
How are they flawed? I bother stating because I can't keep my mouth shut like I should. Don't tell me a secret. You buy hats for 1.33 and some hats they'll pay you 1.33 ref worth of credits. Not every hat they buy at 1.33, but even if they buy a hat at 1.25, if they sell keys at 4.33. Such as Furious Fuyukas or however they're spelled they were paying 1.33 for yesterday.... but then suddenly the price dropped from buying at 1.33 to 1.28 ref worth of credits and they shifted their maximum from 200 to 80 or something like that. There are even better ways to buy keys though. There is a lot of fuzzy math when it comes to buying keys. Ref buying is still the easiest way.
wait how exactly are keys on WH at 4.33 ?
WH buy refined at 2800 something and the last time I calculate key price on there it was like 4.84 or some shjt.
You don't buy a key with ref on warehouse silly. You buy it with desirable goods. Ref really isn't all that desirable since its free and all. You know this already.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10166300 < sold a key for 5 ref within 5 min

link 2: this guy has changed his price, there is no proof of being sold @ 5 ref
link 3: people who said 'added', i cannot see in key histories. none of the keys are shaded out, either
Link 1, Because there is no way he had 2 keys to start with
Link 2 there is also no proof he changed his price
Link 3 ummm key histories? and people are not forced to shade out
lol
look at all your flags.
if you read the trades, then that would at least prove you are claiming false.
To be honest I think Hatch Rawer Beryl's suggestion will get passed first. I feel that the price jump from this suggestion and the current/partly old price are too high compared to any other suggestion that has ever happened on backpack.tf. Perhaps your chances of this trade being accepted will increase some time in the future. But for now, I don't think this will pass.
Odds are, mods will submit the lowest price to make the ones that complain the most happy...but I'm keeping it up either way.
Who knows, might get another spike shortly.
Not trying to hate or anything. Just think that 1 or 2 scrap at a time is enough.
I'm just waiting for the day, when keys become so expensive that no one will want to buy them. And then, i just want to see the economy collapsing one-by-one.
To be honest, I doubt there would be a "economy collapse." Believe me, I hate how these keys are rising, but obviously we can't do anything about it as a loud minority.
If anything, the price will fall back a TINY bit to the point where people are okay with it, but not happy with it. Then it will probably sit there until people decide to make it go up again or miraculously go down again, but VERY slowly.
And then somebody will start building roads and factories and start a war, and it'll all be k.
So you want keys to go up and buds to go down.... You've pushed keys up way too much.... This is just silly .... There going to crash eventually and go back too 2.33 - 2.66
Is it silly? What can you really do with metal anyways?
You can now buy a key for 6 ref ;~; I hate this crap, people with large BP's just push it through because they want increase in BP value or points on thier account
You can buy things, you can craft hats, you can buy hats that cost less than a key. Notice that two of those can't be done with keys.
You can get more cheap hats by having your key be worth more.
Crafting hats = What's the point? Cheaper just to trade for the hat you want.
You can actually get good hats like Team Captain, Doublecross-comm etc.
If the keys are worth less, not a lot of metals would be wasted when you failed, crafting a 1.33 ref hat.
Considering that SteamPipe will kill the entire point of idling since you'll only be able to idle one account at a time, it will become a lot rarer.
do you actually think key gonna crash in a free currency that hardly have any use ?
ain't gonna happen bro.
I would love to make it 5 ref if I have 463 of them in my bp. this site needs to be looked over by some ppl that know something about economic not bunch of dumbs hits
I rarely sell for metal unless if I need change for my large trades,I try to keep even numbers so not to use metal unless if I have to
Well of COURSE you don't sell for metal - buds are going down simply because keys are more bloody valued to hold!
Owns 500 HEHE
Srsly why other key suggestion !
Because this site is now advertising a false price
The prices here are always false according to your logic. Everyone hoards and tries to sell keys for prices about a reclaimed higher than here. Buyers drown in them and decide: "Screw it, I want keys, so I'll take it if I really need to." Then the average price everywhere rises, Backpack.tf gets a new suggestion, suggestion gets accepted and the whole circus repeats itself.
"Everyone hoards and tries to sell keys for prices about a reclaimed higher than here."
Couple weeks ago, the cycle theory was "Everyone sells keys 1 scrap above bp.tf price." What happened to that? Now it's "Everyone sells keys 1 rec above bp.tf price." What if nobody suggests keys for another week? Would the theory say "Everyone sells keys 1 ref above bp.tf price"?
*Facepalm*. Indeed, it was 1 scrap a few weeks ago. Now all I see is seas of 5 refined keys, 1 reclaimed above backpack.
Shows you how outdated bp.tf is with keys right now.
-_- No, it shows you WHY the key prices are rising so badly.
I don't see what you're seeing obviously.
I see bp.tf's key price is outdated. Within the past 3-4 days, it's managed to go up by one whole rec without bp.tf even reporting it. How can bp.tf causing an upward cycle if they aren't reflecting key prices?
Any one ant buy keys these price
You ignore the proof?
your proof is bad since you don't even bother to check if buyers succeed at the current range or a higher range but still lower than this one.
you gonna need to learn more on how to make a proper key suggestion but until then, people will still dislike you because of your proof.
pls upvote directly to 13 ref so i can start crafting 5 hats per key.
imo 1-2 keys would be a better range for a key
i will remain neutral and laugh since i never buy keys for metal anyways
guys, people are still buying keys in the mann co store at the same amount. this inflation of keys is POINTLESS. I say we go all the way back down to 2 ref for a key.
Its not about the amount of keys that are raising the price, but that the value of metal is dropping. Although IMO, traders are trying to just increase the price as well, causing a large amount of sellers who sell keys a scrap or more above the backpack.tf price, which, in turn, creates proof of keys that sell above the range. That begs for suggestions that increase the price of keys. There is some more stuff in the mannconomy that is affecting/affected-by this, but I am not a mannconomy wizard, so I don't know about every other relation that has to do with keys.
http://i.imgur.com/WXgknTR.png?2 -- i think this is pretty much accurate enough and sums up what's going on with the current situation.
ahahahhahahahahahaha xD +1
Bullshit......
It's funny how much people complain about the key prices and how people with 3478947032478932478 keys actually will change the price.
You all do know the reason that is is due to the fact that they really don't have much to lose, right? They'll make the suggestions due to the to the fact that they have all the keys they'll ever need. They don't NEED to go from refined to key. They have nothing to lose by making the suggestion.
Regardless, saddened by the fact 5ref has finally made it into a possible range but I think the high end is too high.
It's true..Doesn't matter much if the key prices go up or it goes down.
raisin' it every day
no
Seriously, who cares anymore?
Are you reading the comments at all?
People are seriously upset over this.
People with actual money invested into this game/people who have been making money from it.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10172984 (5 ref each, 7 minutes lol)
http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/5568/keysx.png
Man thats enough for this week.
inb4: -102 Still Accepted
Votes are secondary to correct pricing.
I am pretty sure mods don't even consider vote on key suggestions lol.
This is disturbing for one major reason to me:
The price (monetary value) of a key is relatively unchanged - keys have not gone up a penny for quite some time now, which means that as a result, keys are not getting any more expensive, but metal is depreciating rapidly.
Metal is now virtually worthless, it's fallen from ~$0.55/ref to around $0.30 and that's saying something. Metal is now half its original value, it has no intrinsic resell, and it's virtually a bad idea to attempt any kind of crafting with it whatsoever.
A simple solution is necessary on valve's end - either give metal an intrinsic value, or give players a reason to want to have metal to craft.
Either way, the point is that keys haven't really gone up a penny - but metal has gone down nearly 50%, and rather than trying to gouge out the exchange rate or fight against it, something needs to be done about the CAUSE of the problem.
I guess I have to agree with the increase (this one is perhaps a bit too adventurous), but I can't say I like it.
For a key suggestion, very little evidence.

eae, cara te vejo direto no manos forever, vc sabe se fechou? nao acho ele mais...
acho q fecho
no es speako el taco es panolia
what da heck?
I dont get why people are constanly trying to raise the price of keys, eventually keys will be about 6-8 ref and then crash because no one will want to keep using keys as a steady currency, this is a terrible thing to put us through.
People "think" that the price of keys would rise even more. So they want to buy them fast. (aka ongoing hype). Greedy sellers go for a scrap over than current price. Willing buyers buy them. Backpack.tf records this proof. New key suggestion is made. Rinse and repeat.
Hell, keys on some sites are being sold for MORE than the prices on the Mann Co. Store. It's ridiculous.
Jesus Christ.. I remember when keys were only 3.11 and I saw a trade that were selling for 5 refined, I told him he was crazy... I don't know anymore
Thats how it got to 5 ref bc of trollers. Best thing now is just don't buy the key let the price settle. Dont buy from ppl selling it for that price. The more u buy = the more u feed the fire. At this point i would rather pay 2.49 $ and get it from manco. store than bother with these guys. Its ridicules and only hurts trading more and more.
For ever key you buy from the store, you should delete 5 Ref from your BP.
That will turn things around
Absolutely not. Buying keys from manco. increases total amount of keys so then the price of keys goes down. You have no need to delete the 5 ref.
People need more reasons to craft and People with the $ need to buy keys from the store.
that is stupid you cna buy them for $1.3-$1.4 with ease
WHERE ?
because I see both buyers and trading post $1.5+ on reddit and SOP
In a sense you were right, in a few weeks 5 ref will be lowball.
lol nope, still goes for 4.66
*gulp*, ok i feel weird, i just bought a few keys from the steam market and sold 4 at 4.88 each, now as soon as i find a website to upload a screenshot for hard evidence i have this here trade of mine. 3 adds in just half an hour:http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10174632/done
take it with a grain of salt. i dont like contributing to the rise in keys but theres some more proof for you folks.
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tf2scrap#announcements/detail/1605807661697282251 < scrap.tf now sells for 4.88 and they're trying to buy for 4.55 It's a crazy range, but even scrap.tf is getting close to the 5 ref mark
huh, well 4.88 is in the middle of the road-but im not sure if we've hit the 5 ref mark just yet.
I went voyaging on Outpost and found that 4.66-5 ref might actually be a better range because of how many people were willing to sell to 4.66 ref buyers.
I can post my wall of proof if you want to see it.
The mod said "that range" which means an instant failure
Don't see why. The range is a rec from low to high end. You know why it looks like a large range? Because 4.99 ref is just 5 ref and math would tell you the difference between 4.66 ref and 5 ref is 4 rec, but that's wrong.
I posted my proof in Beryl's suggestion if you want to see what I found.
please just no more ;-; its gonna get to a point were 10 keys will = 1 bud ;-; and 1 key = bills
why are you raising the high end too?
because he is King of Heart
instead of proving that 4.66 buyers failed he only look for sellers at 4.88+ that sold one or two keys to the extremly desperate buyers.
wow... I kinda failed to put my thoughts into words, what i meant to ask, is 'why are you making a low end that is higher than the current high end'
but it could also be interpreted as raising it too much, hes doing that too.
I found a couple sellers at 4.66 in trade servers. You can't really buy them at that price in outpost.
i need 2 say something about key price asaajgangwtgjm wajawdlw aaarrrrghhhhhh
Let's be honest: we all know this is going to pass. If not today, then next week at the latest.
http://www.tf2wh.com/item.php?id=5021;6;2007c65ba3d3acb661e57ee5550676fc
This is about the sixth time they have adjusted the overstock limits on keys in the warehouse. The Warehouse Estimate according to this website is 4.31, and the keys are being sold to the warehouse at a rate of 4.14... and not coming out. They adjusted the overstock YESTERDAY from 4000 to 5000. Now the stock has been adjusted to 7500. If that many keys are being put into the warehouse at 4.14 and not coming out at 4.31, it proves that the market is bloated and keys at the suggested price are extremely bloated.
There is no way in hell I can support 5 refined. There is no way in hell I can support any of these key prices right now.
ever heard of carders
It's funny (sorry about the random and completely unrelated comment) I haven't heard of carder's since a year or so back and now the word is floating all over the place.
hehe there back
Are they? I just thought that it was something being thrown out there because people were celebrating that Valve was getting rid of the last of the carders
OR people are satisfied with selling off their keys at 4.14. You cannot assume every time that any key sold under the projected backpack.tf price is automatically a carded key. My guess is that people are cashing in the keys now because they feel a crash is imminent.
Warehouse, at the time of commenting this, buys refined for 2,890 credits and sells keys for 14,000 credits. To buy a key with refined using tf2warehouse as a middleman, you'd have to pay the equivalent of 4.84 refined for 1 key. Not to mention that at the time of me commenting this tf2warehouse is currently overstocked on refined metal.

So no, warehouse is not the great savior that still sells keys for below 4.33 refined, and is in fact selling keys for over the current backpack.tf range.
What the site buys metal at is completely irrelevant. Even last year, metal was always overstocked on refined metal. If you go by the price you sell ref to the warehouse, a great number of other items would be inflated in price goong that average. So to keep everything simple, all prices for warehouse items are based off the price it sells it's items from the warehouse.
So, actually, yes, they are being sold BELOW backpack.tf averages.
That is the price you sell to warehouse for refined. Warehouse does not pay 3,250 credits for refined and then sells them to other people for 2,890 credits. You cannot use warehouse's selling price for refined as a comparison for the selling price for keys since you do not buy 14,000 credits worth of metal from warehouse, but instead pay (at a lower value for refined) with 14,000 credits worth of metal, so you may purchase a key from warehouse for 14,000 credits.
I have to use that average, since you can SELL keys TO the warehouse. And why can I not use it for my comparison, since every single non unusual item is based off of the selling price? Concurrently, do you have any idea how unstable the average would be if you adjusted the refined average set by the price it sells at warehouse? You either have an instance where metal costs 0.66, or an instance where refined is 1.33.
You cannot have it both ways.
Outpost is highball, lowball central. The prices on there are not a valid indication of anything but a desire to make a profit
I'm starting to wonder if this logic is right on wrong reasons, and true logic is wrong because of the right reasons? Or is there a major defining flaw that allows most to manipulate said prices into whatever they wish because of their wealth?
Regardless, I say you need proof before you can go about changing the price...again.
^ I hope you read more then just the amount of keys I own
I remember when Team Fortress was a first person shooter.
Where has the time gone.
Removes proof-of-purchase in sadness
I'm going to cut myself whenever I see keys go up. #cut4keys
Hahahahahaha lol. No but seriously please don't.
What has our Tf2 community come to...
This key rising is getting ridiculous. I could see what's gonna happen already: they're gonna get so high that people aren't gonna buy them and they're become worthless along with everything else. Basically TF2 is gonna lose its value...
keys will be the new ref, and ref will be the new cheap crates, and crates...anyone wants junky crates?
maybe stop?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umDr0mPuyQc
I need to say something, SOMEONE MUST PUT THE PRICE OF KEYS LOWER !!!!!
only the buyers themselves can do that.
but the buyers' desperation for keys will just fueling the price up even more.
See, this is the problem with using Outpost as a source for citation; MOST FREQUENT USERS OF OUTPOST ARE OUT FOR PROFIT .... No matter the value of an item, Outpost will always be off in terms of prices. More and more traders are "agreeing to pay up" because they're forced to b/c of this inflation :/
The only reason keys are selling for so much is because nobody wants to sell them with the rapid price increase. The more they go up, the fewer people want to sell them, which just makes them go up even more. The price is being manipulated, once it levels out, there will be many more avalible.
3.33 - 3.66 too many stupid traders these days.
*greedy, not stupid
*demand, not greedy.
Just don't buy keys anymore. Be patient and wait for this site to cause the crash n burn.
That or just don't buy keys because hey, there's no point.
no point in using metal..just use cash
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9991694 < more recent adds for 5 ref
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10118861 < sold for 5 ref
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10178396 < buying for 4.88 and selling for 5 ref..recent trade
you need to realize outpost isn't a reliable source of value
What do you suggest, warehouse? :P
http://tf2tp.com/trade.php?trade=9364190 < find, sold for 5 ref
I would suggest using something other than Outpost, but after looking at your backpack, I see why you'd want the price to rise and why you aren't using actual research and logic (and even common sense)
always judge the backpack..and nothing more O.O
If the admins actually accept this...
facepalm
No !
Key Should Decrease the Price >:( It's Very hard to get the Key if 5REF
Ok guys. Here is some proof o me selling it for 5 ref

My insight of selling keys at 5 ref is the same. Takes a lot of time and patience.
Okay DASDASsfafasdva
I'm still getting easy adds at 4.66, at least up to yesterday. ran out of ref to keep up
Just make it 7 ref and save us the trouble
but that only gonna save us for a month!
3.22-3.66 seems like a good price and should be there
why do I even bother with downvoting, it doesn't matter :(
notice how the accepted ones all have negative scores as far as I know
at least most of the ones in the high 4 ref range
I saw a few accepted one back when they were like 3.xx or something but that was when the voters still think this is a bubble.
now they are scare/mad at the ever rising of keys and try to downvote in hope of closing these rising suggestions
If this passes, I'm completely giving up on backpack.tf and it's constant bullshit with key prices
trust me this suggestion won't pass unless it is up for around a week.
I don't get why they have to close suggestions so soon...within the next day or two, it ends up being the range
Do you even think before you speak that ?
the purpose of bp.tf is to reflect on the current price not on speculate price. why should mods ever close buds price sapper cuz you know it gonna ends up being the range once the crate are rare enough
I didn't say they had to approve it, just let it hang around for an extra day if the other key suggestion passes.
if there are more than 1 open suggestion and one of them accepted, the other closed automatically.

This guy selling keys 4,66 refs for single, 4,5 refs for both.
Gonna be a big round table meeting for the admins here, lol.
Too soon. It should rise like a scrap in a week ;__;
Some of the links have people with keys saying that they've been sold but not a single one has been sold. :/
ITS OVER , THE KEY ECONOMY IS TERIBLE! REALLY? 5 REFF!!
463, trying to get backpack higher
Make that 517
bought another key from the steam market, and sold it for 4.88-again.
i knew id get fast adds like i did earlier (sorry but im too busy to look through all that mess up there^^ to find my comment so yeah,) but 4 adds within 5 minutes of me putting up the trade:http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10182392
i dont like contributing to the rise in keys but look at the proof of both key suggestions, now which one is more accurate? i dont really know, theres so much proof i cant determine which suggestion is more accurate-it like when somebody tries to lower the price of keys-theres too much counter proof and several successful sales at current price or above that many cant pass-oh well i shouldnt even be contributing to the rise of keys, at least im not voting on key suggestions and today was the only time i tried to sell keys for above 4.55.
I have a big problem with "proof" being used to set prices. Your key sold fast at 4.88 because most people are selling them at 5+ ref.
Let me propose a scenario. I have two Steam accounts. I put up a trade on Outpost selling 1 key for 5.33 ref. I then log in with my other account, and buy it from myself. Now there's proof that keys are selling at 5.33.
And then what happens? Others see this and start setting their price at 5.33, every trade that sells them at anything below 5.33 go within minutes, so all that's left is a bunch of trades at 5.33. And thus more "proof" to be used on this site.
But nobody would do that, of course.
nahh your link 1 proves there are people still selling at 4.66
Yes, I sold 12 keys at 4.66 yesterday in less than 5 minutes. But what does that prove?
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10167931
it proves that keys are still being sold at the current range, don't see much proof of 5 ref anyways
______________FU
I tried to sell a key for 4.88, got 3 adds in 3 minutes
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10183484
http://puu.sh/2CUS7.png
Selling for 4.88 is EXTREMELY easy, upvote.
yeah some proof ,but the most is still selling for 4.66 why did you remove it from range? show us proof that no one is trading for 4.66 first
this price is F**KING RIDICULOUS theres no way it should be this high
This guy has 463 keys and wants an increase in price... that seems a bit odd. Also, with keys skyrocketing, the price will stop at one point since nobody wants to buy them. But since the increase of idlers, the value of refined metal is going down. So a small increase is justified, but 5 ref is over the top.
While you're discussing keys I'm going to think about discussing keys...
It begins. I CALLED THIS DAY.
dude...it began like 4 months ago.
Why youre not just saying 10 ref for a key someday it will be like 12 ref for 1 key and earbuds just 6 keys -_-
JUST JUMP UP TO 10 REF INSTEED OF GOING BIT FOR BIT
It will never end because people always want profit, so they buy for 5 and sell for 5,33 and so on then 5,33 and sell for 5,66 at then end keys are 10 ref
They'll never reach 10 refined. By the time they reach $2.50 in refined metal, if this happens, people will just buy them from the steam market and the key price will finally drop. Mind you this probably won't happen for a long time.
Have to admit; I was on Trade RAWR most of yesterday, and people there were buying keys at 4.77 and 4.88.
5ref,finally
This key price increase is not BP.tf's fault. It's everyone who buys keys for metals fault. If you guys would finally just say, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and STOP buying keys for metal at these ridiculous prices, keys would go down because the demand for them would go down.
I only got halfway through all the comments, but I think the fact that everyone is overlooking here is that there is not official authority to set key trade prices. The prices are set by the community.
So if one jackass sells one key on Outpost for 1 ref above bp.tf keys, that's all it takes for people to say "that's the new price," and start selling at that price.
I disagree with the premise that "bp.tf prices are outdated," I think that a small set of individuals overpricing their items are skewing the whole economy.
But what do I know.
One more thing: the only reason people buy keys at these higher prices is because they can't be found at lower prices, not necessarily because they agree with the "new" price.
You own a F ton of keys, ur only doing this for profit u bastard.. and 3 is a nice even number.. not 5 -.- get real
Derpderpderpderpderp
OMG, i just wanna derp all over your face right now....
http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/400x/37117616.jpg
5 ref... We've reached a breaking point
lol owns 463
2014:
1 Key: 2 buds...
If this happens, everything in trading is going to crash D:
People are gonna try to sell this new price for 1 scrap more, and increase the price again. Like what happened the last time. This is just gonna keep happening, and happening, and happening.
This is getting a little ridiculous. This is a voluntaryist economy, why can't we just deflate the price temporarily? The market needs time to cool down, some grace period needs to be installed, even if for a day or two.
Lets do this Texas Style !
These prices ain't on auto pilot!
Fuck the trade.
Everything was clean in 2010.
This is why a game should be just a game.
#cut4keys
proof no one sells for 4.66?
it's too easy to sell keys for 5 ref
At the rate prices are going up, keys will probably be worth buds. Maybe people with lots of keys should just have dump sales to make the price go down (it could work). Additionally, people need to stop paying so much. I'm not buying keys on the trade market until the price goes down.
Keys worth a bud ain't gonna happend :p Buying keys for 2£ selling for 28£ =)
