selling for 2.33
The price of keys is a bit out of control and as much as I would like to make a suggestion of 2.33 and everyone live in a world where it doesn't make sense and rainbows and lolliepops are given to all, I am realistic and know that people are buying and selling for higher BUT they are basically being given permission to do this because the price is allowed to run rampant.
Everyone wants extra metal/cash/buds in their bp but no one is going to achieve this if people think its ok for keys to be worth 5 ref each, soon its going to be cheaper to buy them from the Steam store and then were all buggered.
Rip into me if you like but there is proof of sales and its not an unreasonable decrease
I hope you all have a good day :)
thumbs up if you hate keys
This is not YouTube. That don't work here.
None of these people have any in stock and pretty much all of them are price manipulating to what they want keys to be at.
Isn't the point of gaining proof to find buyers and sellers who have sold at the price your suggesting?
Hence if they have none sell suggests they have sold at that price?
Fell free to look at their comments where buyers are commenting saying that they have bought at a certain price and are rather happy with the result.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10086952 - I clicked this link at random and noticed there were more than 50 "hey, can I buy a key" and ZERO "I'll sell you a key". That's immensely one-sided. I find it hard to believe any transactions were actually made here.
Pretty much everyone wants to see keys go down, that's the reason for these trades. Notice how many of the trades mention "donating" and "giving" keys to these people who pretend they're saviors of the key economy. That's fine - It's just not the norm, and this site reports the majority.
When someone says on one of your trades *I will buy your item that you have listed* do you always reply *I will add you now at the date of 02.33 on the 19th of April and trade you the item*
No you normally think hell yeah wheres that add button and trade them not too concerned about if someone is trying to make a pricing suggestion because wow how much easier would it be if everyone reported how much they paid for everything and if the trade went well but hardly anyone does that.
It's difficult to understand what you mean, but I assume you're trying to say something along the lines of "Not everyone posts on outpost trades, so maybe transactions are being made and we just don't know it." Which would be a pretty flimsy excuse, but that trader is specifically ignoring all random adds. If someone wanted to sell a key to them, they would need to post in the trade first. Nobody has done that.
How is sourcing an item from an outside source a flimsy excuse? Again do you give a full history of where you get items? Trading, idling, searching trades and buying
I'm saying there's no proof of a single successful sale being made in that link. One doesn't just assume trades are being made behind the scenes. That's rather silly. Regardless, all of these traders want keys lower; a clear indication of price manipulation that this site does not and should not report as a market average.
You're very wrong.
Anyone who sell something for half the market price will always be out of stock. Its just common sense.
That doesn't proof that key price should be 4-4.33 ref
Sell for less not market price. Sell for more market price? ahhh huh?
Link 1: Out of stock
Link 2: Out of stock
Link 3: Don't know why you bothered to put it here
Link 4: He is buying for 4.33
Link 5: Out of stock. He is asking people in caps lock not to add him
Link 6: Out of stock
Link 7: Clear price manipulation. He even state this at the trade. He saves one key in the backpack so the trade wont close.
Link 8: Out of stock
Link 9: Out of stock
Link 10: He adds people and states that have done only one trade so far.
Look, i know everybody and even me are annoyed by the recent rise in keys price. Me too would like for the key price to get stable or to get down but this is not going happen. The market is a really big thing and to try to change this selling keys cheap is like to try to empty the ocean with a spoon.
What you're doing here is wasting your time.
edit: typo
All os those people who are out of stock have sold a lot, so it is still valid proof.
Anyone who sell something for half the market price will always be out of stock. Its just common sense.
That doesn't proof that key price should be 4-4.33 ref
So when someone sells for a ridiculously high price, and some idiot buys it, it is valid proof, but when people are willing to sell for lower prices it is not valid proof? Totally not biased...
Where are more trades happening? In the 2.33-3 range? Or the 4.77-4.88 range?
That is the proof. Comparing one example of a sale at 3 ref to a sale at 5 ref is wrong. BOTH are outliers so BOTH are not proof.
So basically, keys should be priced at 2.33 - 5 ref?
There are quite a lot ppl buying for 4.44 and selling for 4.55-4.66 on outpost. Your argument is invalid. Btw I'm starting to think tf2finance.com is corrupted, because it shows keys are 4.8ref :DDDDDDDDD Anyone else?
How is my argument invalid when I freely admit people are buying for higher...but my proof also shows people selling for less...? And then your shoot yourself in the foot by saying the tf2 finance is corrupted because they are selling for .22 higher than your own judgement...

Yes, I agree that keys are rising in price at an unneeded rate, but that doesn't really support your range. The trade has "real" set price.

ok links 1-3 are probably proper proof that is needed for this suggestiong
4 is to show how much of a joke this has become and possibly a future
5-11 please tell me what your reaction and everyone elses reactions would have been if I had come here and suggested 2.33-4.33...closed withing 60 seconds? I believe the suggestion I made is a good stepping stone for trades that are slowly coming down and reigning in this idea that as soon as someone sets a price of 4.77 you should go to 5 then you see someone at 5.33 so you should sell at 5.66...there is no policing system here and people are pretty much being bullied into paying exorbitant prices or no keys from you...in my perfect little world Keys Buys Max should all have a set price...you dont go into a shop and be told that your dollar isnt worth a dollar its worth 50 cents tf2 hasnt upped their prices for a key at 2.49 so when did this arbitrarily price decision come into practice?

From what I've seen, you'd need way more than 11 links to change the price of a key. Why? Because it's a form of currency in the game's monetary system. :\
agreed, this needs more proof
1 month later
Keys - 12 ref
Earbuds - 4 keys
Lol looks like its going that way the unpurchasable item is lowering in price and the item that anyone with a debit card can buy is exceeding retail price what?
Edit: aaaaaaaaaa
nevermind. IT'S TRUE.
Slippery slope argument. Even as a farce, it's a poor one at best.
You know that TF2F calculates an average Keyprice with the trades which the system is tracking?
Keys going up in price just proves that people are self concerned about their keys. I wish the price was still 2.33-2.66 where everyone wasn't such a faggot on raising the price.
Also the prices on most of your rare Stranges are going down because people are like "If I can Get this down in price I can sell it for more later HURHURHUR"
Sadly there isn't enough proof to get this suggestion accepted..but worth a try... :p
I hope this will get accepted..
I miss the good ol' days where I could get keys for 2.22 Refined...
I miss the goold old days too :/
I'm with you and hoping they will lower the key prices.
>goold :3
Since nobody posted any good counterproof yet..

All buying for 4.66 Ref, and this is only the first page from searching.
this is totally gonna pass..
also love how people actually take this seriously
I don't take this to serious, I'm just bored.
well check out xeno :D he put so much effort into finding counterproof for a troll-suggestion
I don't really trade for keys but I feel for you guys :/
I hope that one day a suggestion like this will pass.
Keys need to go down, you guys might not all realise this, what the increase in key price has done for the most part is decrease the amount of unboxing done, therefore decreased the amount of unusuals unboxed because it's not worth losing so much due to uncrating and getting a terrible strange
normaly keys should be 1 scrap , or all stranges atleast 1 key because you can just get stranges from unboxing with a key so if you dont have a key you cant get a strange
The problem is that you also get things from crates that are worth more than a key, so the market would be generating value which would cause inflation. In other words, no need for this.
You did a lot better then n00bs who say "Keys are too high" and that's the end of their proof.
So +rep for trying
