oh because this one guy said something about the 42 key low end not having enough proof. i realized he was right so i closed it. but then i found more proof @42 so i reopened it

dont see the point to change the price again after 8 days.

And i still can sell mine for more than 50 keys, so i think 42 is a lowball and you are trying to change just to buy one..

Why would someone drop the price of the item this significantly just to buy it?

He definitely has enough keys to purchase the item without this suggestion. Besides, this price is actually a price from a while ago (extra info). Also, all high end stranges are dropping, because of the rise in price of keys. This isn't unorthodox one bit. As real world key prices go up (which is kind of weird actually), the prices of "set" items would go down to accommodate this rise. Let's say the Rocket was around $60 (around 45 keys worth) when keys were worth $1.35. Now, if prices of keys rise to $1.65 then the rocket would cost around $75 (if we also price it at 45 keys). This isn't how it works. These stranges/items have "set prices" and they would raise or lower as one of the currency were to fluctuate.

Let's use an example that we KNOW has a somewhat set price. We shall look at Buds. They are still $35 as Finance shows. Why are they dropping in price (key wise)? Because the key's real world price is rising itself. $35 is an average and is still staying as an average. The price doesn't move from its $35 mark. If key prices go up, then the buds would have to go up as well in real world currency. This isn't exactly allowed. To accommedate this, we are doing the same as the previous example. The price (key wise) must go down to keep to its $35 price tag if keys go up.

Back to the rocket:

I have seen people selling their rockets for 42 keys and he is right, there is/was (depending on if someone bought it or not) even one on classified for 42 keys.

The suggester is banned from Outpost and his most recent trades were 3 months ago. This raises red flags for me in the first place. I personally believe people with any bans, probations, or tagged with some shady act shouldn't be able to make price suggestions, but this suggestion isn't impossible.

That is not proper Backpack.tf behavior and it is severely looked down upon by admins. We as suggesters, voters, sellers, and buyers need to act in a civil manner otherwise it will just be a shout fest. We get no where like this.

I rather not be banned for a day like some users on this site. I will not speak their names, but you might know who I am implying. And besides, it is against the rules in the first place.

Also, typing all that helps letting others know why certain things are happening. So, it helps I suppose? xD

Saying this though.. I still wonder why the price of keys went up to $1.67. I suppose it is going off the real world price of the refined. It should go down as someone will lower the refined real world price to maybe $0.25 ish or something. We shall see. Haha.
