They should consider using money instead of refined metal, because as everyone knows, keys are rising because the value of refined metal is going down. Keys are rising due to artificial inflation. There is no reason for it. Refined is falling at a slower rate than keys are rising. People need to let the price settle before suggesting new prices. Sellers are inflating past suggested prices every time it passes and buyers don't know where else to look other than what backpack.tf tells them. Economies don't work like this, and this will cause issues down the road for the economy of tf2.

Okay how's this. Keys as a currency should be adjusted on 1 asset or another not both. As of now key prices are going up in both dollar values and refined values. While one may affect the other slightly it shouldn't be as drastic as it is. As of right now refined is about $0.35, and it has been that price for about a month. So no drop. Keys in that same month (where this ridiculous inflation of keys is happening) have gone up, guess how much, $0.35! Is there a reason behind it? Yea artificial inflation. People are marking up how much keys cost so they can make a profit, yet blaming it on refined prices going down when they're not even moving. In order for this change to actually make sense the price of refined would have needed to drop a few cents which they haven't. If you look at the trend in prices over the last year keys have stayed at a fairly constant rate of $1.30 with slight fluctuations. Now all of a sudden in the last month they have jumped $0.35 while refined has changed $0.00 over the last month and $0.01 over the last 2 months. This massive jump for keys could only be caused by two things a sudden drastic decrease in the amount of keys (there hasn't been one) or artificial inflation (ding ding winner). People will get mad and I'll get condescending responses and what not about an economic degree yadda yadda (I don't have one), but it's just silly to see this happen due to people continually bumping prices based off of others inflating them for their own benefit.

This is why it's going up so fast. People see a new suggestion and inflate their price even higher to make a profit. They buy in the new range and sell in the future range they know will be coming within a day or two. It's weird to me that no one else sees this happening. People need to look at any point in history and watch what artificial inflation does to an economy. I can give a hint, it's not good.

Come on guys we can't keep doing this, in about 4 month is the key price going to be 10 ref? lets just all switch back to the normal price 3.88 ref, i think it's very unfair for kind off poor people to buy keys for 5.11 ref.

Besides, if lots of people are successfully buying at 4.77, lots of people must also be selling successfully at 5.22+ since finance is just a little under 5 refined. 4.88-5 refined is the average price.

Lets use some common sense. If people are WILLING TO INSTANTLY BUY your keys for 5 ref, why would you sell for 4.66? That's just gonna scam new comers, If we change the price to 4.66, even tho everyone here knows that you can instantly sell it for 5 ref. Anyways, even though there are willing sellers, they are usually sold within seconds of posting. That OBVIOUSLY shows that 4.66 is not the market price, if it sells within seconds of posting, we all know its too low.

i also bought sereveal keys at around 4,66 and trust me, they are gone in less than a min. There was someone Selling 2 keys for 4,77ref. I added him 20 seconds after the trade was created ( i was f5ing :P). And although the Guy instantly added me, the keys were just gone.

The rise in key price is backed by real US dollars that you can use to pay your rent. Nothin artificial about it son.

The key price went up in ref and cash, both the exact same relative amount, while the keys in the store are still $2.50. Conclusion: artificial inflation.

The previous price of $1 - 1.10 was just as artificial (which is to say, not at all). Just like the current price, it was determined by supply and demand.

What I've been noticing on literally every single key suggestion you post, you always post people who buy for higher than normal prices, but never show any people who actually sell them. Most people who SUCCESSFULLY SELL THEM sell them for around 4.66 Refined - 4.77 Refined, but you ignore that completely and show people who ONLY BUY AT HIGH PRICES. I will also mention that is it very incredible that in one day, you are able to justify a price change, and then the VERY NEXT DAY, you can yet again justify incresing the price. Amazing. Not to mention how you don't give us any reason for your motivation to increase keys.

which indicates the actual price is more like 4.88 to 5 when then scrap.tf price is 4.66 sell and 5.11 buy. Not sure if that is what you are trying to say.
