I can't believe this. And everyone thought it would go up... I get that there are a lot of these, but why is it dropping?
You have a 60% chance of loosing half of what you paid for this, and if you get a Huntsman or a Sapper, you only profit 0.5 to 1 key. Basically I guess no one wants the stranges that this crate has.
Technically you gain no profit at all except if you unbox a S. Sapper, since you have to use a key to unbox it, so 5.5 + 1 = 6.5. The S. Huntsman price is 6 keys and the Sapper is 6-7. That means you either gain no profit, gain barely any, or lose it all.
True, I guess this just has little to no demand, you make .5 keys if you get a sapper...
Edit: You make no profit, but you can call yourself only lucky if you sold a sapper for 6 keys. There are plenty of sappers rotting on outpost with B/O of 6 keys and no buyers.
So le Derp buys a crate for 5.5 keys and use a key to open it with and gets a sapper??? OMG !!! Hurray!!! And then he thinks I will sell it for profit. le Derp tries to sell it for 7 keys for 1st 2-3 days then 6 keys for next 4 days and after a week realises WHY did I buy a crate 40. And by the end of week the price of a sapper would have fallen to 4-5 keys :). Nuthing left for le Derp to do except Shagging :)
I hav said this for a long time. The only crates that make sense r ones like 42, 19. They have low opportunity cost and will still yield unusuals at same rate as any.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9519548 2 people offering to sell theirs for 5 keys
I am really having a hard time understanding why this crate should be lower than 5.5 keys
When this crate was still dropping the price got as low as 5-6 keys

That suggestion was the first to pass after the crate was retired
You can see that the current was 5-6 keys
Unless someone can explain to me why it should be lower now, after it has been retired I am down voting this
Logic =/= Proof. Proof is there, however illogical it might be (like keys...)
Stormshadow up above probably explained why.
What's illogical about the price of keys going up?
your downvote doesnt matter
people expected that price will rise dramatically after retiring of crate, and that's why items and crate costed more than now, when people see that it's not happened.
tons of people hoarded these crates in anticipation for when they will stop dropping to sell for way higher. Once the crates stopped dropping, all the hoarders hit the market, and it has caused the price to drop rather than increase. The market is simply flooded with them
