This is ONLY the first three pages of outpost, out of four total. I have excluded; collections, people who only wanted "offers," trades asking more than current range, and extremely new trades

Only found 4 relevant buyers in all of outpost;

Conclusion; most sellers are willing to take refined. Key sales still happen but they are not easy, and the market is bloated with people who want a key flat. There are not enough sales happening to justify a range (yet), but sellers are increasingly selling below a key.

    Wasn't there an issue on your gift wrap suggestion where Jon said you needed to actually make a change in the price? Your suggestion is 5 ref which is basically the same as the key even though most trades involve keys. I'm not sure if I understand the logic.

      I agree, this is basically lowering the price by 1 weapon

        Currency shifts are valid suggestions provided it is shown that the item is traded predominantly in the suggested currency.

        I feel my proof shows that key-paint trades are not happening enough to keep the range in keys.

          But you aren't actually suggesting a change. If you feel that it is hard to sell at a key (5.11), then do it at 4.66-5 ref or something. I was saying that this, in and of itself, makes no sense since you aren't changing the price. And the item still gets mostly traded in keys.

            I did consider a range, but you may note some of my recent suggestions were not well-received because I added a range to them.

            The entire point of my proof is that it doesn't mostly get traded in keys

              Fair second point. I just feel that if your whole point in making this suggestion is to give it an accurate price, then make an accurate price instead of worrying about how it is received. As it is, you aren't changing anything, at least in my eyes. 5 ref ~ 1 key.

                I am the last person to let peer pressure affect my decisions, but I do feel this is an accurate price; I was going to put a range of 4.66-5, but the 4 sellers at that range all have a degree of extenuating circumstances that weaken that range's case.

                People hate change, better to break status quo in a small way and let it change gradually; that's how I reduced the G wingstick.

                Cleverpun, before I start, let me say I feel no personal grief/hatred/dislike towards you, I just thought your gift wrap suggestions were terrible. I do agree with this suggestion actually, it's terrible to sell this one (pink too) for one plain key. However you state people disliked the fact that you put ranges in your suggestion. I felt spoken to, and I think I should feel, but I LOVE ranges. Nearly nothing happens 100% at ONE exact price. I explained before and I will not do it again why I disliked your range on the wrap (mainly the second one) because anything <1 key should be in metal imo. I believe this needs to be in metal, and I can live with 5, but I just want to tell you that people (well at least me) do not dislike ranges. With this proof (didn't look that close into it, but I trust you know your stuff) I however feel that 4.66-5 could ALSO be accepted. Not saying it's better, I don't know that, but don't feel discouraged to make ranged prices.

          @cleverpun

          This is a totally agreeable suggestion. I have had many problems selling mine for a key but as soon as I turned it to 5 ref, got heaps of buyers.

          With declining applied paint prices buyers are reluctant to pay a key. The best example here is pink or lime bills.

          It is not just lime but pink too.

          ....... and one more thing, this is a bit off topic so apologies beforehand, no offence but Are you a bloke or a chick?

          if this suggestion passes, which i think it will. it will be the end of lime paint

            And, the end of my inventory

            *hint: (check my inventory)

              if you buy to paint then it will help you out

                I don't quite understand?

                  If you buy the paint to paint your hats it will be good for you because it will be cheaper, is what he's trying to say.

                    It would be cheaper to buy the lime painted hats since i would have to only add like 2 ref

              Buyers have realized that 1 key is too much (especially when it's available in the store for less than a steam market key). The sellers are simply stubborn

              i sold 1 for 5 ref here http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10484871

              check the comments

                This way paint prices would have to be updated every time keys change but whatever.

                  My point is that doesn't matter; lots of people have given up selling for a key and are simply asking for ref

                  sold mine for 4.66 today.

                    Some are even willing to sell for 4.88, so maybe it can be slightly lower. However it's more accurate than 1 key, since sellers have significant trouble getting one key flat, it seems.
