Well removing the range. Proof: Selling for 3 keys:

Unsold at 3 keys + 1ref/1.33

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10736017
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10704635 3k+2r
And one of the best proof: The classifields:
http://backpack.tf/classifieds/search/933/600/0 One for 2.5(!), one for 2.8 and 3 unsold for 3 keys (2 are 2 days+) And tons unsold at 3.5 and lower.
Not many on the market, therefore some links are newer.
Feel free to comment :D
Just want to comment that the proof is a little short. The sellers at 3 keys sold them very quickly and the ones selling them at 3 keys+ have only been selling for a short time. You shouldn't expect a higher priced trade to go quickly.
Asking for more proof on longer trades for my vote, not enough proof for a good vote on it.

Several of these people tried selling at 3.2 before lowering to 3
Ok imma close it. There are many 3 key sellers but they sell fast and some higher ones still happen. Maybe the price needs to stabilize more :/
I bought one of these for 2 keys and 3 ref. Sold it later for 3 keys. Bought another one for 2 keys flat. The price is just going to keep dropping on these things. It's a popular item in the store but that only makes it all the more common to be found for trade. It's not going to escape the stigma of being a dirty weapon unless valve suddenly makes store bought weapons craftable, and even then, so many of these things have already been bought.
Anyway, the suggestion gets my vote, for whatever that's worth.
Replying to my own post. I just sold the 2nd ap-sap for a shred alert and a key + 2 ref. I then sold the shred alert for 2 keys. So that's above 3 keys...
Still, I think I got very lucky. I still think the price is around 3 keys for this item.
All three of the 'unsold at 3 keys + 1 ref' have sold, and in a rather quick period of time, which I find concerning for dropping to 3 keys flat.
Mh its a little bit older too :/ Fact is there are many (newer) 3 key sellers. Imma try to find some more.
Ok I could find those too:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10777558 3 keys - Young
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10775189 Wants 2-3 key offers
http://bazaar.tf/trade/213022 3.5 unsold 4 days
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10703174 3.5 unsold 2 days
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10727870 3.5 uns. 1 day
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10772734 3.5 unsold 6h
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10770283 3.5 uns. 10h
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10767983 3.5 uns. 13h
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10685488 3 keys 2 ref unsold for 3 days!
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10754247 Uns 3.5 1 day
I have to note that the fellow who wants '2-3 key offers' starts off by saying he wants 8 keys, so what he truly wants is unclear. And the 3 day unsold doesn't mean all too much when the user demonstrates an inability to keep his trade bumpeed. Finally, there's still the issue of all the sold 3.2 key trades sold in the original comment for this suggestion.
Still, I wouldn't mind coming back and seeing how the 3.5 key unsolds fare. Might help clarify what's an appropriate range.
I just tryed to get some more links kinda fast. Feel free to wait some more time, but as said: There are tons of quickbuyers having alot of success buying for 2 keys and less. Even if there arent that many sellers for 3 it still shows what sellers go for so 3 seems pretty stable.
Also:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10320342 Smb. willing to sell for 2.4 keys
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10505538 Adds for s widow + s jarate~2.4

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10743480 Could buy one for A dis. lack of hue
I also saw that quickb have a lot of succ. buying for 2 keys showing how desperade some people are.
Too soon. Maybe tomorrow.
Well its normal for suggs. to take about 2 days befor getting accepted.
Oh well, after closer examination I think you are right. Checked this morning and they weren't at 3 keys yet..

First page of outpost, found those in less then 5 minutes. Didn't even bother for the other pages. Upvote.
I don't know about this, I sold mine for items equaling about 3.6 keys
(Vintage drill hat painted brown, awper hand, s. carbonado botkiller rocket, s. blutsauger)
I dunno, that over the curr. anyway. Also vintages can be hard to sell/ and you have to think about item overpay.
