I bought one for 8 keys, also found peoples who bought at that price, but that trades are closed so i cant find them, check outpost and you will see that 5 keys is huge lowball and nobody would sell at that price, maybe would, but 2 months ago, and no, i am not doing that because i have one, i have one for my collection, not for selling.
PROOF

guess you shouldn't have bought it for 3 keys above the price
I love all this counterproof showing that he overpaid. How about you actually prove him wrong if you want to make arrogant comments like this?
rather than acting high and mighty why don't you? how you like dese apples
I'm not the arrogant person that basically called him stupid for supposedly over paying. If either you or him have proof that it is has been sold for lower, then please feel free to provide it. Your snide remark doesn't mean anything since you didn't do anything to prove this suggestion wrong like I was asking for in the first place.
you haven't either though.
Neither have you. As I have already explained down below there isn't anything to link to. Maybe if you actually did your research and read through the suggestion you would realize that instead of being cocky by posting stuff like "how you like dese apples?"
I don't need to provide counter. If he only has 1 trade, why should I waste my time when it's not going to pass?
...Because this isn't a highly demanded item, and you can't find a trade for a reasonable price.
scroll down
U ain't got no pancaik mix.
There's one page on outpost, and only 3 people that actually have listed prices all above suggested range. Please show me where he could buy one where he wouldn't be overpaying. Do your research before you try to publicly embarrass someone because you think backpack.tf is the end all price and therefore he must have overpaid.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10292984 2 weeks ago, 5 keys each
Thank you, now was that really so hard?
Had to go on outpost, search it, and click trade history and scroll through past trades.
Dat proof.
PROOF

This shows you overpaid. Doesn't show that other people should have to pay more for it too.
Peoples isn't a word
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10708834
i find it funny you paid 6 keys for one and got it in a day. so by your standards you were lowballing A LOT
i paid 8 keys!
check the trade i just linked. i see 6 keys in there. not 8
yep, i tried to buy at that price and it was impossible so i bought from guy who was selling
I don't like this
screenie of trade history would be nice.

you have to be one inpatient guy if its "impossible" to get it in less than a day
can you give us a screenshot of your inventory just to show you arent lying? and maybe some proof of other people paying this much?

No one has provided counter-proof, so until some arises this seems like a more accurate price than current. If you wish to correct me, then please do so with actual links instead of whining like these other comments are.
A single trade does not mean the price has to be changed immediately
Last suggestion had a single link...
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/5557167 havent gotten a decent offer in half a year. was also asked to buy for 5 keys
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10271806 - will consider 15 keys for 1x of the set. making winter crate at like 5-6
At roughly the same time he got the offer of 5 keys he got an offer of 5 keys for his crate #6 (which he simply rejected) he got an offer of a salvaged crate #40 plus 3 keys. Both offers are old anyways, but that offer is still higher than current price and still more recent than half a year. He also stated multiple times in the comments that his buyout is a bud which can often deter a lot of serious buyers after a while.
Second link is an offer on the set. To assume that all other items can be valued at full value and therefore the value of the winter crate is the remains is wrong. For one it has not occurred since he said he would consider it. For two it is a bulk deal and it is common to sell for slightly lower when you are selling multiple items at once. For three you have to take a little off each item if you are going to try and calculate the value of this crate in a bulk deal. A single purchase such as this owner did is a much better indication of price than trying to figure out a value from a possible bulk deal.
♔ Baloo ♔ you are correct, however I believe that only two links should not count as sufficient proof. During the key inflation a few people tried to lower the key's price by selling a sh*tload of keys at ~3 refined (while they were ~4.66 refined). If I tried changing the price based on their links alone that wouldn't really end well...
Don't think I don't agree with what you're saying, however. I'm just trying to state that more proof needs to come from both sides, really.
The problem is that this is like keys, at all. There's one page on outpost and only 3 of them actually have buyouts for the crate alone; the rest are looking to sell in a crate set: http://www.tf2outpost.com/search/108000880
There is only one trade on bazaar and the trader already has a listing on outpost: http://bazaar.tf/search/?s=5048&sg=440&sp=quality=6,flag_cannot_craft=0&b=&bg=&bp=
There are no serious people actually looking to buy it either: http://www.tf2outpost.com/search/108000981
Collectors items such as this differ greatly from keys, so you cannot use them as a comparison as to how the evidence should be set up.
That is quite true. Same as if an item had a certain craft number and/or Level - some people would pay more, and so on. I see what you're saying.
But still - not enough proof. Is that trade only one that exist in the world? I think no. So show us ALL sellers and buyers of this crate please.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10311985 - Offer of 8 keys.
I tried
They also claim to have bought one elsewhere. Presumably its on an alt since they don't have one in their pack
trade he bought it:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/1735790 for 12 keys, currently on his alt
http://www.tf2outpost.com/user/76466
2 crates is not enough proof to raise 2-3 keys AFTER buying one
Also your history of trades reselling holiday themed crates begs to differ on the reselling bit
Provide counterproof then. There aren't many of these crates in the market. They're hard to find, almost everyone is selling as a set. So, 2 crates will be a good proof for a item without demand. But I agree with you in the part of AFTER buying one.
Get more proof Boy.
This that you overpay on this item dont make it worth more than it is. ;/
If you can bring more proofs, i will change my mind.
But for now DOWNVOTE
There ain't no counter proof, so upvote.
This isn't proof at all.
Please get out of here.
Finding [counter]-proof for these is a pain.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10292984 5 keys per crate
That trade is no longer relevant because the buyer has bought them and has since raised the price substantially (http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10311985 - even offered 8 keys recently). 5 keys is not easily obtainable anymore.
Uh, that trade is relevant because it's a recent market transaction. Also, ever hear about reselling? You buy something for cheap, resell for high.
I think you just proved my point. 5 keys is a cheap price and you will be lucky if you can find that. Any buyer will snatch that up and sell for higher because they can sell for higher.
then there should be a better range, not 7-8 keys
I just hate how everyone sees the huge price jump, the fact that he owns 1, and only a couple links and they're like "oh he's raising his bp value" "dat proof" (last suggestion only had 1 link) "Easy downvote"
This just disheartens me and makes me lose faith in the TF2 community.
People don't even take the time to read the proof and try to understand the logic. They don't even make a simple search on outpost to see how small the market really is.
This is what we have so far:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/1735790 Sold for 12 keys 5 days ago
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10545675 Sold for 8 keys to suggestor, to Tread who "prepaid", offered 8 keys in items
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10311985 Offer of 8 keys from the guy who later bought it for 12
Traced the crates to http://www.tf2outpost.com/backpack/192508 after a little digging through the guy's friends list
http://oi41.tinypic.com/nlv382.jpg Sold for ~8 keys
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10292984 Sold for 5 keys
He provided us with only one link, its not our job to provide proof.
Maybe if this suggestion was redone, but not with this score.
