- Doctor Who seemed really interested in buying the Misty Skull Private Eye from Ray and traded for it for an unknown amount. Based on the backpack.tf graph of Ray’s backpack, ([url]http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198045176442[/url]), the trade occurred between April 18th and April 21st. This caused a $365 (~8 buds) increase in Ray’s backpack value. The items that were most likely traded for the Misty Skull Private Eye are from this trade: [url]http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10219971[/url] based on the trade history of all the unusuals.

- The sum total of all these unusuals average values equal roughly that 8 bud increase seen in Ray’s backpack. Due to the high unusual overpay, I will be counting this transaction as roughly 6.5-7 buds pure.

~ Side Note: Woifi and I have actually been chasing this unusual for quite some time. As far as we know the second Misty Skull is gone and we have no idea where it went. Last owner to have it had a buyout of 7 buds: [url]http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8389369[/url]. We had a thread about this back on the old backpack.tf forums: [url]http://steamcommunity.com/groups/meetthestats/discussions/1/864959088287535166[/url] and I had thought a range around 4.8-5.3 buds seemed right which is pretty much confirmed by the evidence of the new Misty Skull Private Eye that has serviced minus the unusually high sale to Doctor Who.

Conclusion:

Most recent sale may have simply been out of a strong desire to buy the hat causing the high unusual overpay. Many previous owners had buyouts much lower than what Doctor Who bought it for leading me to consider it to be somewhat of an outlier. However Doctor Who is the most recent sale therefore more emphasis is focused upon his sale, so I am making the range 5.5-6.5 buds since that’s about where the middle hits between most sales and what Doctor Who paid.
