It's kind of sad to see these dropping so much lately in my opinion.

Part of it is that I am a scout fan and these were regarded as very nice, pricey items for quite a long time.

Also, there are a shit ton of links from the guy who suggested 3 days ago. I recommend you use some of the links here. A bunch of his links remain unsold, and that would further bolster your case.

I can't believe these barely noticeable things ever got up to the price they did.

It's true, they really are terrible alone and cannot make a scout look good by themselves, but when correctly applied to a set that already looks good, they can be a pretty awesome misc.
