I guess it wouldn't have mattered if I put 100 links of sellers at 2 keys....
Sellers:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11385630 - 2
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11380616 - 2
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11375519 - 2
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11376029 - willing to 1:1 with a 1 key item
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11337284 - 2
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11336635 - 2
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11231383 - sold 2 for 2 keys each
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11203610 - 2
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11319996 - 2
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11318896 - 2
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11309292 - 2
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11308580 - 2
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11277074 - 2
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11274995 - 2
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11313103 - 2.1
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11273881 - 2.1
The corollary - http://trade.tf/price/5039/6
Now, the argument on the previous suggestion was that they sell fast at 2 keys. This is PAINT. It, like other tools and currency, is SUPPOSED to sell fast for the low end of the range. And I'm not bothering with sellers for 2.2 keys cause there are twice as many at 2.2 as the ones I have listed above. Also not even looking at all the successful quickbuyers..
The point is there are plenty of sellers willing to sell at 2 keys. That should be in the range.
lol there isn't even one of those that still has the paint for sale just 5 minutes after you "modified".
A. You can't just call something "currency" when it is not used as such. You don't see me (or anyone else for that matter) trying to sell buds for white paint or anybody even attempting to offer that.
B. This is like trying to claim 5 ref keys are realistic for anybody that's not spending ALL their time looking for it.
I've talked about this at length with you on the other suggestion. I'm just going to leave this one up to the voters.
You may also notice that trade.tf actually agrees that 2 keys is not even the MEDIAN (aka most common) LOW price.
And I talked with Swag on both black and white and just general talk and you're looking at around 3-5 days worth of trades to come up with those statistics each time
Mode actually denotes most common. Median is directly in the middle of all the values.
sorry I will defer to that. However, i don't concede that the bottom of the bottom third should be considered non-quicksell.
Yeah 2.2 is right in the middle right now on trade.tf
Actually I'd support a 2 - 2.4 range since:
1. trades actually happen at 2
2. a wider range is always better for traders since more profits can be made, it leaves room for negotiation
I mean trade.tf is a measurement tool (it doesn't have a range but an interval of uncertainty for the median), backpack.tf is a pricing guide with a true range. So a very small range on backpack.tf means very little negotiation room for traders.
People at 2.2 don't have to negotiate currently. 2 key white goes so quick it's hilarious and 2.2 sellers get a majority of the Normal players (those not looking to profit but instead actually want to use the paint).
If necessary I believe I can find just as many 2.5/2.6 sellers and sales than He has found 2 key sellers and sales but I'm kinda over convincing people that 2 keys white/black goes just as fast as 5 ref keys.
My favorite part was when you put words in Swag's mouth and then he showed up on the trade, to give his own input.
My favorite part is that I actually do talk to him. I had gone a bit too long without sleep before commenting so it didn't come out quite right. He is encouraging a wider range to allow for more negotiation rather than saying that 2 keys flat doesn't sell instantly.
BP price isn't supposed to reflect instant sales otherwise 5 ref would still be in the key range and likely 7 keys would be valid in Bills suggestions.
Andy bought 6 of those. He sold them all for 2.4 Keys if I remember correctly.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11319847
Hence, a range of 2-2.4
That's not my point. You can always get more than 2 Keys for your White or Black, and you can easily figure that out by simply checking out who buys the paints, and who sells them. Almost every single person who bought these paints are already selling them for higher, and they are succeeding without problem. Furthermore, I don't believe 16 paints instantly sold at 2 Keys in the course of a week should decide what the price should be.
Proof of sells and offer above 2 Keys
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9956170 - Offer of 2.4 Keys
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11190497 - Offer of 2.4 Keys
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11288628 - 2.4 Keys
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11385865 - Andy reselling for 2.4 Keys
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11316412 - 2.4
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11049399 - Rejected a 2.1 Key offer
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7596160 - Offer of S. Shotgun + 4 Refined
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11368833 - 2.2 Key
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11335808 - 2.4 Key, check his BP
Here is only active link I found of a 2 Key seller:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11356239 - Has at LEAST 3 Adds, most likely not closed yet because he just bought them
My verdict is simply that 2 Keys are sold instantly, resold without problem, and very few 2 Keys trades exist.
EDIT: Can't really help you if you refuse to read what I just posted, and instead jump to a biased conclusion. However, I will say this one more time: 16 paints in the course of a week does not dictate the economy, especially when their are hundreds being sold easily for more.
First, 2.4 is in my range.
Second, "very few 2 keys trades exist" - i have 16 links proving otherwise. Yes, they get sold quickly, but the low end of a commonly bought and sold item should get sold quickly.
quickly is one thing but the people selling for 2 keys get taken before anyone that is not reloading constantly on that paint on Both OP and Bazaar has a chance to even see the post.
Not true. I stumbled across several of those links myself, and a few were even bumped once before they sold.
You have plenty of keys to go out and buy 3 and prove me wrong.
Has 4 in stock - http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11356239
I'm not gonna buy something I don't want.
There are only 3 total pages of white paints on outpost right now. There aren't that many trades of this over the course of a week.
EDIT: This guy bumped his prices to 2.6 Keys. http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11356239
Probably a sign
2 keys = quicksell
When there are 16 "quicksells", then "quicksells" should be part of the price.
At least a few didn't "quicksell"
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11231383 - up for a day
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11203610 - added for 2 other paints before the white
And these are the only ones where we can actually see how long it took. A few I found via tf2tp that I tracked to outpost and were up for at least 30 min. You can't be online 24/7 to grab em all up ;)
He might not be but myself, -=|JFH|=-Spanish, and any number of people with keys that want a quick profit will be there.
Your first link has ADDED more white paint to his backpack since that date and he actually had 2 to start with.
How do you know some guy from 5 days ago was added for CHEAPER paint faster? The white doesn't even have a posted add on that trade.
Not sure why i can't comment on the thread above but you're the same person.
The reason those paints aren't already sold is because they won't be tradeable till the 9th AND he already has a bunch of ADDS anyway
Alright dude. You have clearly expressed your opinion. I will stop commenting on this suggestion altogether and just let the voters decide. But just so you know, the first ten votes I got on this were all upvotes.
I believe I've already said this, but everyone should be aware that these "16 links" cover the entire span of 1 week.
I've noticed. He likes to bring in older and older trades.
Dude, this is an area for discussion of pricing. Please be mindful of that, there is no reason to add comments that are not productive to this discussion. Its fine to discuss the price, and even evidence but it would be remiss to start discussing individuals; especially in a way that might be construed as insulting.
First, there are only 3 total pages of white paints in all of outpost. There aren't THAT many sales over the course of a week
Second, you really expect me to find every single 2 key sale that happened in a week? It's brutally difficult to find completed sales for items as is. And I managed to find 16 sales at 2 keys.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11435045 - selling for 2.2, already sold 2
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11190497 - selling for 2.2, sold some
I think 2.2 might be a solid price. 2.4 sales are possible, and 2 key sales are snatched up instantly.
I had like 30 links of 2.2 sellers. But I didn't include them since I thought I had plenty of sellers at 2. That's why I think a range of 2-2.4 is the best with 2.2 as the mean. And as shown in the previous suggestion, 2.4 is not only possible but about as common as 2 key sales.
No 2 key paint on outpost (3 pages).
No 2 key paint on the classifieds (1 listing).
No 2 key paint on trade post (1 page).
No 2 key paint on bazaar (1 page).
Not sure about this one.~
Here's the corollary.
How many buds at 24 keys do you see out of 20 pages on outpost? - answer 0
How many keys at 5.22 ref do you see out of 20 pages on outpost? - answer 0
Paints, tools, currency all sell quickly for the low end. There are only 3 total pages of white paints. And I provided 16 links of selling under 2.2. I have a couple more to add if you really want them. But at some point it just becomes overkill, doesn't it? I mean, how many sellers at 2 keys do I have to show you?
More links don't hurt. ;)
Hmmph.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11403716 - 2.1 keys
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11441178 - 2 robokeys
http://tf2tp.com/trade.php?trade=9512878 - this guy actually sold for a filamental + sparkplug = 2 keys - http://www.tf2outpost.com/user/15108 - which he later combined with 4 other items worth ~ 1 key for 3 keys he used to uncrate and get 3 crappy stranges. I added him to confirm, but he was probably so pissed with his uncrates, he immediately ignored me.
And both of these were on that 1 page of trading post:
http://tf2tp.com/trade.php?trade=9512878
http://tf2tp.com/trade.php?trade=9496588
It's hard to find completed trades on outpost. If I found 19 links at 2-2.2, I'm sure there are more that I am missing.
Trading post links: 1st outlier
2nd: Look at his second tp trade, he wants a painted dashin.
He changed it.
He first put this one up: http://tf2tp.com/trade.php?trade=9496566 - painted dashin
He was unsuccessful and then put this one up: http://tf2tp.com/trade.php?trade=9496588 - non-painted
Just look at his bp. He has a non-painted dashin
your link 1 sold instantly.
your link 2 sold for 2 keys + 1 rec.
i've got to downvote since 2 keys seems like a quicksell, basically everything below 2.2 keys gets snatched up really quickly.
So you are ignoring the fact that I have 20 links?
Here's my problem with this logic. A buyer (like Andy) buys 10 white paints at 2 keys and sells 10 white paints at 2.4. And everyone says, oh, price must be 2.4 because all 2's are quickbuys. NO! That's not how items are valued in the market. When there are many WILLING sellers at 2 keys, 2 keys should be included in the range. Paints, tools, and currency are SUPPOSED to sell fast at the low end. How many buds do you see at 24 keys? Or keys at 5.22 ref? Or even decal tools at 1 ref? I sell decal tools for 1 ref instantly.
The price of an item is based on what it is commonly bought and sold at. 20 links (!!!) all within the last week cannot be ignored. We base prices on this site OBJECTIVELY. Calling something a quicksell is SUBJECTIVE and may be acceptable in the absence of proof. Here there is a shit ton of proof of willing sellers at 2 keys.
fair enough.
I think the best argument here is the ratio of links you found versus the total number or sellers on outpost. 3 pages of sellers is pretty damn small for the website, so coming up with almost a page of sellers means you found a statistically significant sample size. To me having a significant sample of the total (even if the sales don't last for long), means there is a willing supply at that price.
To be a proper quicksell the intention of the seller must be to undersell competition to generate resources quickly. If there is significant supply at 2 keys (and there apparently is), I think its unfair to describe their actions as quickselling.
I'm inclined to agree here.
While I personally do not feel the change is necessary and the comments are generally against, the proof is there, the votes are positive, the question of whether 2 keys is quicksell hasn't been answered sufficiently nor has anything been provided to solidly counter the 2 key inclusion. Accepting.
