Kel bought the veil with the damn HOUWAR. Now you are probably wondering why me, and NickyD were also offering. SO HERES WHAT HAPPENED:

I was looking to buy a HOUWAR with my unusuals, I see that Kel has one. So I make a bunch of offers. He gets tired of them, and says that I should try and find a nice vivid hat. I ask him if he is interested in a Vivid Veil, and if he would trade the HOUWAR for it. He said yes, oddly enough. So I get really excited here. WHAT IF I CAN 1:1 MY SCORCHING BRIGADE FOR A VEIL. AND THEN SELL THE VEIL FOR A HOUWAR. SO MUCH PROFIT. So I set about offering on the only one on the market.

I also tell my friend NickyD about this. Sadly, he too is after a HOUWAR. So he then goes ahead and offers the AA. He has the same goal as me. Get the Veil, and sell the veil to Kel. For a HOUWAR. We knew this was loads of profit, if we did get the Veil cheap enough. So we are bidding, and then we notice that Kel has made his offer. The HOUWAR. I quickly try and compete with him by adding my scorching sola topi to my offer. But of course, it's weak compared to that massive overpay.

So yeah, he offered over the buyout. Reason for that, that is what he told us he would pay. So if we got the veil, we could have got the HOUWAR for it. So Kel felt nice, and went a long and offered the HOUWAR.

We did not know who Tiensto was. And we were not placing fake bids to try and raise the value of his hat. But it's now sold to Kel. And chances are, never leaving his backpack. Sorry about that confusion admins! I hope this settles everything.

Also re-adjusted the price from last time. Seeing that some people said that the low range should be 8. And the high range should be 11. Due to overpay.

Seems to me both you and you friend NickyD recognized your friend Kel was overpaying by offering the HOUWAR on the Veil, and thus the frantic grab for one. A trader overpaying shouldn't become a new range.

Should it not? But that is why I put down 8 as the low range. I thought that would make it suitable. We didn't know he was overpaying. We just knew that if we could 1:1 the veil with one of our hats, we would make some good profit. I wasn't really using backpack.tf to pricecheck the veil at that point. Would you be able to recommend a better range?

There are things called outliers which dont really count, You can easily buy a much higher tier with that amount of buds, so to say that 10buds should be included is a bit...ridiculus

in cases like the burning noh mercy and many other cases, prices have rised a lot because of a collector paying more, still it's a sale, and it's valid proof

There was a standing B/O of 8 pure when this happened. That goes beyond typical 'collector paying more than hat previously worth' situations. This is a case of a trader willingly flushing away value for no real reason.

Check the history of both hats... They were selling consistently around ~7-8 before the recent events. 11 was clearly an outlier considering what this hat was previously bought and sold for, even with the last month, but especially in the context of the last 2 months.

well this hat could definatley use a bump, i didn't see the buyouts on any of them. so downvote i guess

That price is clearly an outlier, downvoting. I doubt anyone will pay 10 buds or anywhere near that price especially you can easily buy a much higher tier/better effect with that amount of buds.
