There are still trades being done at 35 cents. However, these do sell frequently for under that price.

no one really cares what you buy it for plus YOU DON"T HAVE Prof

True, but you don't have proof nobody cares what I bought it for.

And some people also sell for over $0.35 cents. This suggestion was done a week ago and was closed. http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51ad4bfeba25361742000002

Closed by suggester not by admin.

Did I say it was closed by admin?

The way you said it was like look dude the same suggestion was closed yours will too.

The guy closed it because it wasn't doing well. That's why I provided the link.

Thats okay. Last one accepted wasn't doing well either but it was right and passed

It wasn't right. People sell for $0.30-$0.40 all the time, but $0.35 is the most frequent and recognized. I provided a long analysis of suggestion proof and counterproof on the previous suggestion. There is a lot that goes into buying ref. Just read the other one. Thanks to whoever disliked all my comments.

Lol, I didn't know, I was just guessing.

I don't know why you commented on mine, but both of those links have low stock. Below 20 ref.

Still selling and not sold out because its market price not under market price

Well the lower link has a minimum of at least $5 so he is just barely above sold out and I couldn't find the other guy's minimum, but I am guessing it is above 20.

the first link has no min listed and $5 min is literally basic and the lowest amount to sell. I have a $9 min for keys

If you want to be like its bulk of course it is less no one sells 1-5 ref and thats that. 50-100 tends to be the min and normal amount

First of all, I said the lower link. Secondly, actually I found someone who doesn't sell bulk. Thirdly, it seems that the lower the price, the bigger the minimum typically is. Fourthly, people sell above $0.35 as well.

People sell above 5.44 and 5.55 ref for keys doesnt mean its quite there.

How much is bulk to you?

People sell keys below 5.33 and it's not there. Bulk is idk 25+

No bulk trades, because bulk trades aren't trades right? http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11852535

^I've gotten 1 add from someone who wanted to do a "bulk" trade (is 100 ref really that much???), which I felt compelled to turn down! :)

Then a second person bought 4.66 ref from me for $1.50.

Looking at your comment above...if you seriously think 25 ref is bulk....I don't even know what to say.

I threw out a number and yes $8.75 is a lot for the average trader. Are you trying to troll Edward?

Comment button isn't there beside your comment.

Anyways, why is 8.75 a lot for the average trader? Your backpack is worth more than 16x that amount. From my experience on the pp market, trades involving 25+ ref are very common. Is your experience different?

Not trying to troll at all. I am following your rules by not allowing "bulk" trades for my trade. If you think my trade is trolling, then please extend your reasoning to include that your opinion of not allowing "bulk" trades involving 25+ ref is trolling.

I'm not an average trader. I'm gonna stop commenting because this is becoming irrelevant and silly (partially my fault).

Bulk for ref i would say is over 200 ref

Because 25-100 is a common amount.

How common something is doesn't make it not bulk. Bulk is a large amount be definition, so I guess it is really in the eye of the beholder since size is a relative thing.

Anyway, this is all irrelevant if all ref sales aren't recognized and analyzed and selective proof is used.

The point of the $ pricing is not only to get a the right pricing for ref/$ exchange, but also for the backpack valuation and valuation of every other item in the whole game. Based on the current valuation, typing "convert 1 key" gives $1.88 and convert 1 bud gives $45.23. These numbers are undeniably wrong.

The point of the $ pricing is to give a suggested price that ref should be sold and bought at.

Also, here is the proof that I found for over $0.35 that I put on the other.

This isn't all of them either. I could have found more but I have limited time of course. And I didn't use source op either.

Basically, the proof on the suggestion is selective and does not analyze all ref sales like it should.

Compared to the volume of keys being exchanged between 0.32-0.35, the volume being exchanged at 0.36+ is fairly small. Many of your links haven't had proof of ref sale in 2 weeks or more.

This isn't all of them nor does everyone comment who buys ref.

Decent proof but I'm pretty sure there is WAY more trades for 35 cents so I would keep it as is. Also think about how a few trades like this could destroy the market. Sorry but downvote.

I think its not enough for a currency change, find more proof please

                                  scroll down

well if you haven't realized that, that was posted 3 days ago or about 10 minutes after the suggestion was made... so I have not read any of the other comments..

                                      No problem.

Just letting you know that there is more proof now.

I realized before I commented to you that your post is very early. However, since then, you have not made any other comments revising your opinion. Therefore, it would be only logical for me to remind you that additional proof has been added.

For what it's worth, I bought 50 for 29 cents each yesterday, but you definitely need more proof to dynamically change the economy.

cause it was a bulk trade, that is why you got discount.

That doesn't mean I didn't buy it for that price though.

I've bought successfully at 33 cents apiece quite often, so I lowered my price to 29 cents and I'm still buying relatively easily. This shows a downwards trend in the USD value of metal.

                                        50 is bulk... haha

If you know nothing about pp trading don't even vote

Yeah, I sold you 50 refined. That was for the reputation.

It's like this people may sell craft hats for 1.22 but people don't put down the price to 1.22-1.33, 1.33 is just the going price and I think it should be the same with metal .

Craft hats have an intrinsic refined metal value due to the 'Rebuild Headgear" blueprint and the steady desire among players to craft hats. Refined Metal does not have an intrinsic cash value.

Wasn't there another suggestion like this that also failed?

The mass majority of ref still sells for 35 cents. Downvoting.

For first time I will agree whit ya xd

Still hold a grudge over such a small thing eh?

                                              Eh ... maybe no

It didn't fail the suggester closed it him self

There are tons of sellers at .32 cents i agree

No for 2 reasons, I got over 2000 of them, Tf2 has over 25 Million of players 4 million of them are trades, Do you think That A few links Represent the whole ecconomy? Also you need Unsold at .35

his proofs are not enough, but you shouldnt use " i got over 2000 of them" as your counterproof

He doesn't need unsolds, he's keeping 35 cents in the range.

I don't know how you made up those numbers, but you're way off: http://store.steampowered.com/stats/

Even if the current 50k-70k players (number doesn't change much) played only one hour at a time, you may have something like one to one and a half million active players, at the most.

The huge majority of those players have no interest in trading in TF2 (based on browsing reddit.com/r/tf2 and general consensus on game servers)

If I were to make a guess, based on backpack.tf and outpost user numbers (usually around 2k-3k online at any time), I'd say there would be something like 10,000 serious traders, at the most.

The tf2 'economy' is a lot smaller than you think.

This prrof isn't enough. What about trades unsold at or above 0.35? Or are you just wanting to ignore all of those...

I am still a little baffled that the price of refined in dollars is up for suggestion at this site...

You'll notice if you hover your mouse over prices shown on the guide, it displays a dollar value. This value is computed by using refined metal, which of course, needs to have a price set. Originally it was Brad Pitt who set the price as a best-guess, but since trying to change it after backpack.tf got big, it had to go up for a vote just like any other item because of the backlash against arbitrary price changes.

                                                      Hope this helps.

                                                        "the entire tf2 gets fucked."

how? does refined metal affect the game/enjoying yourself?

Apparently without the free metal costing the same price but showing they can be gotten for pennies less does break the game.

Every single item gets valued as less if this would go through, some day it probably will, but having it go do hell today is like saying "The earth is gonna blow up one day, so lets blow it up today!". Key prices rising makes items get less value aswell, key wise atleast. But trying to lower the USD price on metal is like wanting to destroy all value of sort of any item valued in metal

You know lowering the cost of ref acctually helps towards listing the real value of items.

                                                              Keys =/=1.90$

                                                              Buds =/=45$

SO everything in keys and buds are shown completely wrong values

                                                              Obviusly you aren't a trader...

im not a trader? oh ok, i didnt know being a trader was an honor or some privilege.

i think somebody needs to take a break from trade fortress 2, and actually play the game.

what the community values metal at does not effect the game itself, and a comment like "if this shit get approved, the entire tf2 gets fucked. downvote" is just sad. regardless of him or you being a trader.

you aren't helping your situation with comments like that...

                                                                      You mad ? xD

whoa man, 2fort? thats a low blow. ill settle for dustbowl but im not negotiating anymore.

Hm, 0.32 sold pretty fast, maybe 0.33 - 0.35 would be more correct

Not a related issue... but is there any way to price keys/buds? For instance, when you type "convert 1 bud" into the search bar if gives you 45 dollars, which is ridiculous considering most people consider 40 to be really high. This really throws off unusual pricing.

tf2 finance is a quiete good source for key / buds prices

Nah, I have sold many refined past few months, with the range of 0.29 ( just for reputation from different people ) to 0.35$ ( a lot ). Downvoted.

Do I have to mention that TF2Shop is selling them for 0.41$-0.49$?

Also stop it with this Faggotory, if you want to a cheap profit of few scraps over few trades, just add me and I will give you those fucking refined you need. Nobody is getting no where with these kind of suggestions. All price suggestions dont reflect and never will reflect the actual factor of wich the keys/refined are being sold. People use spreadsheets, and this is the only one that is popular. Those who say that backpack.tf has no factor on changing the prices, can eat an onion.

Just want to mention Tf2 shop always is asking for highest prices, because they have an automated and secure system

This is what will lead to the crash of the economy, as metal prices go down, key prices will go up, and eventually it will crash, just like the stock market. Us, the community, we are basically screwing ourselves over.

I don't think this is enough proof to change up and possibly destroy the entire market of TF2. Just keep at 35 cents and do us all a favor. :P

You need way more then a few tf2outpost links to change a key element of the tf2 economy.

                                                                              Downvoted.

Also you tagged "Closed because of inactivity" trades as Sold. What kind of proof is this?

Also, how is people selling for $0.32,$0.33 shows this is range? If a refiend is worth $0.35,you need proof it is NOT selling for this price, lower then value will always sell, thats basic.

Count how much is 1,500,000 known refined of 160, please do.

Let me know how many are for sale, for pp.

Also, are you implying that I have a low stock?

Or are you implying that OP should show links that account for a significant portion of the total market?

Assuming the average seller has a stock of 100 ref to sell for pp money, it would take 7500 links to account for 50% of the market.

I have more than a bud worth of metal, and obviously it is quite easy to convert keys to metal, so I can get nearly 500 ref more. I'm willing to sell at 0.32 for all of them. Why? Because 5.44 or 5.55 times $0.32 (about $1.74-1.77) is a very common selling price for keys.

I know you want to change the world with your 160 refined, but that wont suffice.

I know I have 4 items each worth more than your whole bp, but that is entirely irrelevant.

                                                                                    So is your comment.

Not trying to change any "world". Just providing proof.

                                                                                      Awww, kidney!

What actually you want to prove? That you're a fair guy and you want to sell your stuff for less than they actually value? I tell you, this shit you're doing is hitting deep down my soul.

I never kept an item hat or even purcahsed a single item off MannCo just so my backpack have a virtual value. Sorry, I am more into buying stuff that actualy exist and that I can brag on real life not virtual life like you do.

4 of your items worth more then my whole bp.

5 times more hours and older then your account is. Served.

lol who buys items off of mann co store anyways?

Not bragging. Just pointing out the pointlessness of your comment. Whether I have 16 ref, 160 ref, or 1600 ref is fairly irrelevant.

What does having 5 times more hours than me have to do with anything? I lose? I played less than you? Great. How is that relevant?

Oh about that "hitting deep down my soul" sarcastic nonsense, you selling for $0.29 makes me cringe, cry, and crack up at the same time!

In response to your first question, I'm proving that 0.32 should be included in the range. I don't know why you are interpreting this differently. It should be very obvious to any normal person. See below for further proof.

Im pretty sure if the prices of refined go down then the prices of hats go up.

i thought a similar thing would happen when keys started going up, not sure if you are aware but people used to buy one key with two craft hats, sometimes.

now 4 craft hats wont buy you a key without traders asking for some metal. so the value on some items dont always reflect the value on others, even if youd expect them to.

Keys are sold for paypal more often than ref. Key=5.44 ref.

                                                                                  $1.70/5.44=0.313

                                                                                  $1.75/5.44=0.322

The pricing for ref in $$$ goes much farther than the price of ref in $$$. It's the price in $$$ for every single item in the game.

Can you seriously say that the current ref valuation is giving an accurate price? This is why no one cares about total bp.tf $ value of backpack.

I am extremely confused as to why you think this is not proof. This site is supposed to reflect what people mostly sell at? No. If that were true, then sellers would determine all prices. If 10 sellers are selling a strange pan at 7 keys, 5 are selling at 6.4 keys, and 1 is selling at 6 keys, the accurate price for this site should not be 7 just because most sellers are selling at that price.

The correct statement is that this site is supposed to reflect the price at which most trades are happening at. This involves both sellers and buyers.

PAYPAL LINKS FOR KEY SALES DO NOT COUNT TOWARDS REFINED PRICES. Are you new to this site?

The correct statement is that you think you are saying something smart and your comments suggest otherwise.

Why don't they count towards ref prices? Show me the rule or precedent. None of the mods objected to the key conversions I had shown on a previous suggestion for ref. (If I am wrong about this, I would appreciate it if a mod could respond and provide reasoning for why key sales for $ do not count.)

Keys are the most traded currency for $. Keys are easily converted to ref via keybots, scrap.tf, and the large number of key/ref flippers on outpost.

Ref is the only thing on this site priced in real world money. We can't go and suggest a $ value for keys or buds. However, if you type convert 1 key in the search bar, you get a very inaccurate value ($1.88). The 0.32-0.35 range is supported by proof for ref only, and it is further supported by sales of keys. .32-.35 for ref will move the site a step closer to more accurate reporting of $ value for all items.

                                                                                          Yeah, I'm new! :D

By sell I meant selling that is taking place i.e. sales/trades. My bad, please calm down.

I'm not sure why you think I am not calm (the person using all caps isn't me)...but thanks for clearing that up!

I was basing it on your diction, but the other guy needs to calm down too.

How do you buy with the cents?

Most of those just seem like quick sells, down vote.

I fee like there's a certain someone (who has already commented here) who has always been against key rises because he has a large collection of alternate accounts for metal farming and trading it for keys. In fact he has, on more than one occasion, tried to lower keys in terms of metal instantly after an increase. I feel like he is using these accounts to dislike every comment that is in favour of reducing the monetary value of refined metal and is spamming the likes on his own comments.

I know who you are but we'll just keep that between us. Feel free to dislike this. Once you've spent a bit more time here, you'll realise that hidden comments attract attention and are read more than the other comments on these currency suggestions.

i was extremely curious who you were talking about, so i started looking at many comment-makers on this page previous suggestions. needless to say i couldnt find him (her?) and anyway im not asking for you to give out names, but how long ago did you notice this? and does that sort of thing happen very often?

i dont see that sort of thing happen often.

i dont think that is possible since backpack.tf will detect multiple login from one IP.

Type in convert 1 bud. It says $45.23.

Type in convert 1 key. It says $1.88.

These are very high valuations, compared to the multitude of sellers at $1.80 or less for keys and at $42 or less for buds.

Changes to the ref/$ price affect much more than just the price of ref. It affects the real world money valuation of all items in this game.

Why does this site even provide the $ value of backpacks if these values are not even close to right?

.32 right now definately seems like a quicksell.

But .33 and .34 might be true. Especially if you factor price of keys.

I would recommend resubmiting as .33-.35 and perhaps get a bit more proof.
