DO NOT DOWNVOTE JUST BECAUSE OF HUGE RANGE

LOOK AT EVIDENCE FIRST

I was taking a look at this hat since it was a pretty old price (5 months) and at first I was thinking that it needed to drop but its quite the opposite actually. Turns out it needs a raise in price. Lets take a look at the proof.

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11648061

The first 3 offers aren't all that significant but lets look at the last 2. His second to last offer is a B.M.O.C + a White Bills. Now technically, due to the price drop of Painted Bills, that would only be 11 keys + 9 Keys but for the sake of price suggestion and the fact that you can't change the price of painted items without changing the price of the paint or the item we'll consider it 11 keys + 10 keys. That's 21 Keys in items, above top value. The owned rejected his offer asking him to add. Apparently he was willing to add a Strange Festive Grenade Launcher, Strange Festive Ubersaw a Strange Spy Set and some keys. I've added him to discuss further as to whether or not his offer was White Bills + BMOC + SF Grenade + SF Ubersaw + Some keys + Strange Spy Set or was it 3 separate offers of BMOC + White Bills or SF Grenade + SF Ubersaw + Some keys or the Strange Spy Set. Either way, the BMOC + White Bills offer is about 21 Keys in items. I will edit this further when I have the conversation with Player_11. In the unlikely event that the guy who offered refuses to talk to me, many trades I've talked to agree that it was 3 separate offers and not 1 high-valued offer. Here's an example of one of the people I talked to: http://puu.sh/3hRfJ.png. The most recent offer is 25 keys (if he waits until the 25th of June) but it seems it was retracted since the guy hid his offer.

B/O of 20 keys. A guy added him but I guess retracted since Joonamato still owns the hat.

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11616406

B/O of 19 Keys, had a guy add him but the guy found another one as shown

here:

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11553494. Where the guy bought it for 20 keys.

Had an offer of a Level 96 short history Clean Earbud if the owner added. The owner was not willing to add so it didn't work out. I added the owner of the earbud to see how much he wanted the guy to add and here's our conversation:

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: Hi

Famous™: Hi

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: You offered on an Orb. Fire Little Buddy a bit ago. You offered a Clean level 96 earbud if the owner added

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: How much did you want the owner to add

Famous™: Sry , i dont have a earbud anymore

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: I kno

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: I am simply using this conversation as evidence

Famous™: ah ok

Famous™: hmm

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: I was wondering how much you needed him to add

Famous™: Hmm like 6 Keys or 5 or something around that.

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: So you wanted his little buddy + 5-6 keys for your earbud?

Famous™: yep

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: Alright thanks

Famous™: np

Sold his little buddy to Paul the Goth for 45 Dollars! That's about 1 Bud!

I also have a friend who sold his for 12 Keys + S. Sapper + 2 Strange Huntsmans, which is 12 Keys + 6 Keys + 10 Keys (5 Keys per huntsman), totaling to 28 Keys in mixed! Proof: http://puu.sh/3hQ8R.png (a screenshot of a screenshot.)

And here's a guy who doesn't bump his trade and has a B/O of 20-23 Keys. Doesn't show much except that most trader's aren't looking for anywhere below 20 keys. This is not so much of evidence but more of a display that the 18-19 range is mostly useless.

But this hat is somewhat difficult to price given the dramatic price difference in offers and B/O's. There are some with B/O's of 20 keys but then some getting offers of 21 keys or more in items. One of them sold for 20 keys while another sold for 28 Keys in mixed. And then there's that one guy who sold for $45! And another with a B/O of 19 Keys! All very confusing. I honestly think that this is a hat that deserves a huge range. $45 is about 26-28 Keys. So I'd think the range of 19-28 Keys is a fair range seeing as the lowest B/O is 19 Keys from a guy who hasn't bumped for 2 days. And the highest one sold was for 28 Keys in mixed.

Now I realize that this is a HUGE range, but according to evidence its about right. I've talked to some traders about it and they agree that it is way too big. Chances are I'll close this trade after a few of you provide evidence of a smaller range. Thanks for this. And I'm always open to suggestions.

It seems like there is very little evidence for 28---one sold which seems like an abbiration. Don't see any evidence for the 45 dollar claim, other then that's where he set his buyout, which is frankly not good enough. You did good work finding your evidence, but you don't have enough to justify the high end of the range. Downvote, but I would urge you to resubmit excluding the paypal sale, and 28 in mixed--as an outlier.

Well, according to history, it is no longer in his bp, so he must've sold for that much since the guy said "added."

Just because it says added, is not a confirmed sale at that price, we have no evidence of what their negotiation was like. We have to go on firm proof; this is not that.

Alright, I've added the buyer because the seller refused to tell me from previous experience.

Mk, hopefully he will give u a screenshot with solid evidence. I'm unsure the mod's would be willing to just take his word for it.

Yeah, I'll get back to you if/when he accepts my friend request

And from Paul the Goth, seeing how much he bought it with:

                ☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: Hi

                Paul The Goth: g'day

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: I was wondering how much money you used to buy your Orb. Fire Little Buddy with

                ☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: From EXAX I believe

Paul The Goth: $45 I think

                ☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: You think?

                ☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: I sorta need a firm answer

Paul The Goth: hold on let me check my paypal account

                ☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: Great

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: While you're at it, a screenshot would be much appreciated :)

Paul The Goth: yeah it was $45, but I didnt have enough for take so he took 0.50 cents off.

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: Thanks! Is a screenshot possible?

Paul The Goth: sure, let me just black out his name

                ☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: Alright thanks!

                Paul The Goth: http://i.imgur.com/bFgjqqr.jpg

He bought it for $44.50. Proved with screenshot as well.

      FURTHER PROOF

      Confirmation: The offer from Player_11:

Player_11: hi, how can i help you?

      ☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: Hello?

      Player_11 is now Online.

      Player_11: hi

      ☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: Hi

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: You offered a BMOC and a White Bills on an Orb. Fire Little Buddy before?

      Player_11: yes

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: Now, the guy asked you to add

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: You were willing to add

      ☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: SF Grenader + SF Ubersaw + A few keys + S. Spy set?

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: Or were those 3 seperate offers?

Player_11: well i was going to, but i retracted. SF's maybe. if bils, bmoc and one SF sure

☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: So you would've done BMOC, Bills and SF Grenade?

      Player_11: meh, sure

      ☆Highly Intoxicated Muffiη☆™: Alright thanks

So he was willing to go BMOC + White Bills + S. Grenade Launcher which is 30.5 Keys.

And from Paul the Goth, seeing how much he bought it with:

He bought it for $44.50. Proved a screenshot (With the name blacked out) as well.

Just as bad, I can buy any one on Outpost for that price.

        That price?

28 keys. The current price is fine, maybe even too high. Leave it as it is.

But...there's people who've sold for 28 keys, a retracted offer of 25 keys, another who sold for $45 (26-28) and people offering 21+ keys in items. How in the world is 18-20 keys too high?

Because there's a bunch unsold on Outpost for that price right now.

Also item offers you'd expect some overpay.

The 28 keys was just an outlier... Nothing much.

I maybe will not vote just because there are b/os of 20 and 19 ... (or downvote)

And they're not even sold for that.

But there was a retracted offer of 25 keys. A rejected offer of 21 Keys in items and 2 sold for 28 keys in paypal and mixed

I really don't think you understand - if I can get one for 19 ANYWHERE, why should the upper range be 28?

Upper price should be 24 keys, because of that 25 keys offer (retracted, though) and the cash sale (45 $ = 24 keys). The buyouts of 19, 20, and 20-23 clearly shows that 28 is just way too high. Maybe even make it 23 keys.

          Lower price is fine.

Edit: I don't know it yet about lower price, but I don't have that amount of time to check it.

If there is a Buyout that is Not Sold at lower than your top range, you are doing it wrong. Re-make your suggestion with a reasonable range or not at all, as your proof simply reinforces the current range.

The current range does not include a rejected offer of 21 keys in items, a sold of a bud in paypal or 28 keys in mixed.

I'd suggest reading his comment again - this is never going to pass.

Partially agree with this. We should include the range that its possible to sell for, things like clean history/paint/potential duping (suspicion of duping for example) all go into why different things sell for different prices. But I do agree there seems to be a lot of supply at a lower price point, which is not burning off.

                  That would be wrong, sir.

Now if the B/Os that existed were below the suggested range, then it would be a problem.

I don't know about the high end here, but I was able to purchase one today for 20 keys. That was a tough negotiation, so I'd recon 19-20 keys is the low end. Honestly I believe that 28 is a stretch, but I'd believe 24-25. Although yes, I am a bit biased, as I have one of my own.

The suggested high price is a bit too high. BOs have been much lower, and the one for ~19 keys still has not sold. I think the 28 key mixed sale was an outlier, so the suggested price is a bit too high
