As Sir J-j-jon recommended, resubmit with .33-.35 as the range and more proof since .32 is really a quicksell.

The previous suggestion (.32-.35) : http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51bdf7b0ba25368417000008

From what I've seen on the previous thread, almost all of the .32s had sold in relatively short time, and after further analysis I've realized that too, hence why it isn't in the range.

link 1: sold 3...... no proof of it, no comments buying ref, no one buys just 3 ref, 1 month ago

link 2: last add a month ago..... couldn't even have been for his price, couldn't even have been sold, or not sold because buyer has no rep

link 3: 2 weeks ago, not 3 days, and user has no rep

link 4: dont see 30 ref or really anything close to 30 ref

link 5: last add for ref 2 months ago

link 6: 2 weeks ago, no rep looks like he same guy posted on tons of ref trades trying to get someone to except his little rep

link 7: last add 4 weeks ago

link 8: last add a month ago

link 9: no recent adds for ref, or people with little rep

too lazy to go through the rest of your invalid counter-proof

Yo, I just copy paste the counter proof from the last suggestion ...

Thanks for stealing my proof which is a week or so old now.

            Eh ... You are welcome

Can we hold off on the ref suggestions for a little bit? The last was only closed some hours ago.

it was closed and the mod told him to resuggest at .33-.35 instead of .32-.35

              learn before you speak

Why are you so rude to me? I obviously didn't know because I don't spend all my time looking up every detail of this site. You didn't have to say "learn before you speak." Please try to be nicer in the future, or people won't respect you.

                  > you're saying things without even checking, you're just assuming. then your second statement-so " i can say things without even checking and just assuming" takes 5 seconds to check, and you're telling me to not actually look before saying wrong statements. people won't respect someone since they can't even look or read. I wasn't trying to insult and nothing personal.

What did I assume? I just thought that two ref suggestions in 3 days was a little overkill. Sorry, I didn't see the mod's comment until just now because I'm not always online and didn't see the very last comment even though I read and commented on a lot of the comments and the actual suggestion when I was online. The thing is that I DIDN'T KNOW that a mod commented on the last suggestion saying to do another one at a different range so how was I supposed to know to check? Please understand my position and I know you are not trying to make it personal, but you are coming across very rudely. Also, this is now irrelevant to the suggestion, so I will stop speaking about it.

first line of the suggestion: "As Sir J-j-jon recommended, resubmit with .33-.35 as the range and more proof since .32 is really a quicksell. "

Ya I found it but it shows up as the last comment for me.

as i said before in the last suggestion, i dont think this is even close enough to a currency change. You need to provide more proof...

To kill off currency....would be to screw us all..... Unless you provide way more proof....I shall downvote

Hi. This isn't killing off currency, it's updating the price to be more accurate based on actual traces, which is what this site is about.

                SAVE TEH ECONOMEH

                Upvoted.

You really need more proof and anyways you're going to get raged at for dropping value because although this drop may not seem like much, for every $350 a backpack is worth, you're dropping the value by $10, which is pretty significant, especially if your bp is worth a lot

Why does he need more proof? Becaues he's going to get raged? Why is it bad that bp value drops?

Would you prefer to have keys valued at 6 ref each, just so that our bps look like they are worth more than they really are too?

1)http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10082025 (selling for .33) told you, he has been OUT OF STOCK for last 3 weeks(he hasnt been restocking at all)

2)http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10508977 why include him? last time when he update was 3 week ago

3)http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11720093 (sold out between .25-.35) has stated in previous suggestion that he sells for low price only for reputation, he said he has way more successful trades @ 0.35usd. And he downvoted previous suggestion.

not sure if this is proof: http://www.skial.com/threads/20-refined-for-0-33-0-35-each-looking-for-metal-supplier.39183/ looking to buy bulk for $0.33-$0.35 each, and no takers yet

has 3 pages of profile rep.... basically no rep

when sellers are looking to sell they look for a buyer with outstanding rep not a couple pages of profile rep.

Once again, this is not enough proof to change and possibly crash the tf2 economy or 'mannconomy'. Leave ref prices alone for now, the last one only went down a few hours ago.

                      more proof?

almost no one sells ref for paypal.

this isn't a commonly traded item for paypal, out of all the ref being traded I estimate 1 percent of ref is being sold for paypal

and what he showed is bassically all the cash ref trades

True dat. What is more surprising is why they're selling refs for Paypal instead of BTC, or even why they're selling ref for money.

everything on bp.tf is internally valued in terms of refined (except unusuals)

meaning that a small amount of refined for RL$ trades could effect the value of all items in the game except unusuals.

no one cashes out based on refined anyway, so this is terribly broken - either these suggestions need to require much more proof, or the price of refined needs to be decoupled from the value other items in the bp.tf spreadsheet

bp.tf should convert to setting the value of all items in keys (or fractions of keys) since the RL price of keys is more realistic and easily established (and has massive amounts of RL$ sales to use as proof) than refined.

first statement> actually it does affect unusuals- since ref makes the price of keys and keys make the price of buds. and unusuals are stored in usd, so yes it will affect unusuals

second statement>not a lot of people sell ref for paypal I have said this a billion times

third statement> yes agreed cashing out with buds or keys is most common. no one cashes out with ref. there's not a lot proof.. dont see what you mean with the next thing. pretty silly

                        next statement- same ....

                          ok, let me explain

we're talking about RL$ only (RL$ means real life money). so if unusuals are stored in USD (RL$) then the change in price of refined does not effect their pricing in the bp.tf unusual spreadsheet

the fact that not many people sell refined for RL$ but the price we arrive at based on these few suggestions effects the pricing of all items exists only because bp.tf decided to store the RL$ value in terms of refined.

however, refined is not how people turn their backpacks into RL$ therefore it is a flawed system.

right now, a very niche market exists for those who buy and sell refined for RL$. but this niche market which is foreign to almost all traders dictates the RL$ pricing of everything except unusuals

my point is the refined -> $RL market has no place in dictating the RL$ value of all the other items - and it only does so because of how bp.tf decided to store the value of items.

a more accurate representation of the RL$ value of items would be to represent all items in terms of some item that is readily sold for RL$ -> keys.

nothing silly about this. this is a design flaw in the way the database reports RL$ value and yet it has a massive effect on the entire economy because everyone uses the backpack.tf API.

that means that keys will go up

if the ref goes down the whole tf2 goes down downvoted

but it's accurate. dont hate the price updates, hate the economy and its population

the voters of this suggestion right here

"make me bp go down... instant downvote"

This ^^ I dont know whats wrong with a few pennies different that it will destroy a game haha

How many people do $$ trades with payapl.

The economy is already focked up.

Bp.tf is simply recording an accurate representation of the market. Go scream at autposters if you want them to stop.

the price of refined may be correctly reported here, but the fact that all items except unusuals are stored in units of refined means that a small niche market of refined trading controls the $$$ value of all items in the economy (except unusuals (at least not directly))

this is wrong because it is based purely on the choice of representation in the bp.tf database and not an "accurate representation of the market".

                                better.
