Suggestion: Mann Co. Supply Crate Key at 5.44–5.66 ref

You can't actually "prove" any trade unless you have photographic proof of it. So all of the 5.66 sales above could be false and all of the traders could be liars just like I could be lying about what I saw. There is a certain amount of trust that goes into this.

It's very easy to find buyers at 5.44 and 5.55 Ref when you need to sell Keys. Why would you include 5.33 Ref in the range if those Keys are gone extremely fast (aka. Quicksell.) and if there are a lot of buyers who are buying for more than 5.33?

That's what I was thinking, 71% of the community thinks it should go down but Because of 1 admin it gets closed and this is so posed to a be a community website. In my opinion even if the admins think the proof is bad but most of the people think it's good they should still accept it because it's a community page, btw the proof last week was not bad.

I Love backpack.tf because it's very helpful with pricing but I think they need to let the community decide the prices.

I dont really play the market ( buying low and sell high, resell keys ) i only trade thing i like to use ( stranges, hats/misc, unusuals ) some of them have an estable price maybe not the unusual that i like, but atleast isnt a circlejerk.

I knew this would come up, but there's nothing to do - i have tried sell keys for 5,66, and a guy even came up with 5,77. This is ruining the economy, but the fighters can't do anything against it. Because there's 100 against it, and 600 for.

And the trade has been open for 3 days. That means that people will only buy them if they aren't patient enough to wait a little for the listed price (ie they need keys for a trade for an item they want or a good deal they found) and/or since they think that key prices will keep rising anyway so they will get their money back. The mass volume of keys being traded at 5.44 and 5.55 overwhelms those selling at 5.66. Plus, many people still sell for 5.33 which counterbalances the 5.66 (the quicksells counterbalance the quickbuys). (Also what does about 7 mean?)

The 5.33-5.66 range was better. I don't understand why bp.tf admins are happy to pass prices with the high ranges but not if it also has the low range. And I managed to buy several keys for 5.33 and even 5.00 yesterday.

Also anybody buying for 5.66 is an idiot when you can easily get a 5.44 seller.

cleverpun has always been pretty fair with the warnings, if you spamming the suggestion with crap, you get warned. The only reason suporters get warned more is becuase they are more likely to make dumb posts. See the last key sugestion lowering the price and the "I love you" coments.

I have not tried selling for 5.66, but haven't sold any for 5.77, my listed price, either.

On the contrary, I have been pretty much consistently buying keys for 5.55 ref, it takes a bit of time about 15 mins - 1hour but you do get them.

hence 5.77 not being in range.

I bought 11 keys for 5.33 in bout 10 days, business is pretty slow but not too slow

when a key bot is understocked and buying at 5.55 and scrap.tf is ded at 5.44, 5.33 comes from new traders who blindly follow the #savetehkeys and sell cheap in an atempt to lower prices. Good for trades, bad for them. Any proof of 5.33 can be used as proof for 5.33-5.55, but not 5.44-5.66.

No I buy from anyone who sells for 5.55 ref, does not really matter who he is. And it is annoying when you get random adds with people trying to buy key from metal, when you have not even advertised, so I have set a high price of 5.77 ref , and so far I have not sold even a single key. :) So a fail banker if you like.

But when I need metal, I just sell me key for 5.55 ref to a bot that I have in my friend's list.

consistent at 5.66 means -- keys are readily available at that price. but because I only buy 10-20 keys a day, I can afford to wait a bit. Although I can assure you that people buy keys for 5.66 ref. I can show you proof when I sold about 50-60 keys @ 5.66 ref a couple of weeks ago.

The price is based on sales and sold. If everybody stops to highball scrap by scrap above each range, the price have been still 2.33 - 2.66.

There's every reason in the world for the price of keys to go up. One of those reasons is that they are being successfully sold at an increasingly high price. If you don't like it, go join the Save The Keys group.

There's always people who sell for less and people who sell for more than backpack.tf suggests, THERE's TONS OF KEYS IN THE MARKET, You need way more proof to get this done.

Eh I'm not sure. If I was still only trading through outpost, then I'd probably agree with this, but I've after I recently started back up on my trade server hopping, I've noticed that keys at 5.66 refined really don't move that well at 5.66 refined as Man of Ham I occasionally see people selling for 5.44 or 5.55 refined that don't get sold. In fact I was casually on a server just now where someone was selling some keys. They couldn't get any buyers at 5.55 refined or 5.44 refined, so when he finally went to 5.33 refined I decided to buy a few. I didn't buy them for resale, but rather to use in my other trades. From what I've seen on trade servers I'm not overly sure if I completely agree with this. I think I was too Outpost oriented before when I use to see all these keys being sold for 1 scrap over high end and think to myself why it wasn't included in range, but after actually being in game I've noticed that trade server actually tend to stay with in backpack.tf range most of the time.

We need the users to be more active and get more proof from trade servers if we want them to have any value in discussions.

I am not denying that things sell cheap on trade servers as compared to outpost,but most of them remains undocumented and thus of no use.

That's where the two automated key tracking websites come in handy for dealing with trades occurring outside the realm of outpost and other major trading sites. While I realize no system is perfect, I believe the fact that http://tf2finance.com/keys (currently at 5.51 refined) and http://trade.tf/price/5021/6 (currently at 5.44-5.55 refined) both are closer to the median price on backpack.tf goes to indicate that the average sales being conducted across the board are more likely in the range of 5.33-5.66 refined where the bulk is still being done in the middle where the backpack.tf price currently lies. While I realize that you shouldn't base the price of one spreadsheet on another, I believe that the fact both these spreadsheets list an average price below suggested median price of this suggestion shows that this suggestion may still be slightly preemptive in truly reflecting the market for keys across the community.

People need to accept the fact that keys are going to go up. It doesn't matter if you want them to be cheap. It's about how the market is going. Facts of the price of keys will always outweigh your opinion on how much they should be worth.

I said that there's thousands of keys in the market, if price is 5.55 (for example), there will always be people buying for less and selling for more than backpack.tf suggests. As there's so many keys circulating, you will obviously find a lot of sellers who sell for less and a lot of sellers who sell for more, but there's also a huge ammount of users who buy and sell for backpack.tf current range/price.

So in my oppinion, we should stop changing key prices, let them stablish, there will always be tons of people buying/selling for other values than backpack.tf suggests, we don't have to be changing their price every two days just because they do. Don't forget that keys are the "key" of tf2 economy, you are messing up with it.

Being warned for saying this by an admin who owns 100 keys is not what we call objective.

Keys are going to be the price of what ever this website says... People are trading for keys to hedge against the hyper inflation caused by this website and others like it. If you do not raise the price, the price will not keep increasing.
