THIS IS THE BEST SUGGESTION THAT I'VE EVER SEEN.
even the ellis cap couldn't drop to 1.22-1.33 http://backpack.tf/vote/id/5177ec7c4bd7b8c354000013 as long as it's craftable it's 1.33
difference is, that was 3 months ago, with all the robohats now there are alot more craft hats and getting harder to sell at 1.33
as of now there's been no major 1.22-1.33 market change. If craft hats drop in refined metal value it'll start more shat than this keyconomy. I suggest we all just stay away from that minefield and keep hats at 1.33, as they have been for months/years.
What you're suggesting is literally price manipulation. You are proposing that we ignore clear evidence of an incorrect price in an attempt to prevent a natural occurrence.
It is very difficult now to find buyers for cheap genuines and robo hats at 1.33 ref. It is very easy to find sellers. This should be represented on the price list.
Maybe the robohats should be the first to go below 1.33?
well i could of been the first to drop below 1.33 because of the market and people banking hats/misc were you no longer can bank robohats
I've had absolutely no trouble in selling a large number of hats for 1.33.
Please please point me in the direction of your buyers
I would also like to meet these buyers. Would make craft hat reselling much easier.
I've just been putting up trades on bazaar.tf and I've been getting buyers.
Although it may be difficult to sell every hat for 1.33 on tf2outpost, I've found that if you want to sell your hats, just simply go to a trade server. Personally, I've seen that genuines have a low turnover rate on the outpost, but they're still somewhat sought after, even if just as craft fodder, on servers. You just need to know where to sell, and lowering that price isn't going to fix the whole quickseller problem on outpost.
Your arguements are invalid.

well. This economy is f'd. ;3 Imma go be thankful im not in the metal/hat business...
I would say it the other way around. Any newbie can now buy a key from the store, sell it for 5.66 refined and can buy 4 different hats with still some metal left to convert to weapons. A key used to get you 2 hats earlier, now it gets you 4 hats with ease, 5 hats coming up soon.
Tf2 is a game, best played as a game. If you want to do business there is plenty of options. The most money is in promoting adds on websites, just a cue.
If you want money then work irl. I did it for over a year and bought a new computer and a ton of games. I only trade for fun now (and to buy more games now and then).
hmhmhmhnmmm scrap.tf NOT GOING UNDEr 1.33
Scrap.tf stopped accepting genuines.
oh i didnt know that thank you
a good number of these have sold since you put them up and the second 1.22 link specifically says in the comments that it should not be used in bp.tf price suggestions XD
Lowest any craft hat goes is 1.33 O_0
well if you see some peoples trades recently and some changes to some prices there is a few hats/misc that are being or that is below the price of 1.33
looks better then the other 2 open genuine suggestions, some sold really quick but
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/12806907 only sold 1 in 2 days
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/12838380 reseller who buys alot at 1 ref and resells them at 1.22
are pretty convincing. will probbably upvote
still craftable.
>still scrap.tf donot accept them
>still they sell less than 1.33
>still craft hats (atleast genuines) are no longer 1.33
Its not only scrap.tf not accepting them, but the fact that the few 1.33 craft hat buyers don't want genuines.
OMG 1.33 is a barrier for craft hats & it's pretty strong. I have absolutely no problem with lowering craft hat price but then you need to do this with like a hundred craft hats. I'm looking forward to this :)
There's a difference between normal craft hats and genuines, in the fact that there are way more genuines floating about the market. Hatbanking sites stopped accepting them, and now people want to sell for 1.22.
They're still craftable, so that makes no sense. their ability to craft gives them a value of 1.33, if they're dirty they can fall to 1 scrap for all I care, but even if the hat is literally a bag of dog poop that you wear on your head it's still worth 1.33
Please find me a trader that buys craft hats for 1.33 ref and will accept genuine hats then.
on outpost? You cant. All people buying on outpost are looking for quicksells, and craft hat quicksell price is 1.22 and has been since the price is 1.33
There are some that buy for 1.33 on outpost, you just have to look.
you just simultaneously invalidated your previous comment of "please find one" and showed the world how lazy I am, and how I dont want to spend time actually looking today and instead went by my experience trying to find a 1.33 buyer with my last craft hat (like 1 month ago)
They buy normal craft hats, not genuines.
and if it's craftable they're not going to care if it's genuine, unique, vintage, or whatever, assuming they're buying for CRAFTING, not for resale.
People are still selling for 1.22, regardless of whatever the buyer will do with the hat.
the seller doesn't give a s**t what the buyer is using it for, as long as they get paid. The seller, however, is paying quicksell price because, if he is using the hat to craft, he is paying 1.22 for a 1.33 worth craftable item. Hats have 2 things that give them value, and the higher makes the price over the lower one. Craftability and how much people want it. Even if no one in their right mind wants an ellis cap, it's still worth 1.33 because it's craftable, but with something worth more, like the all father, it's not worth 1.33 because people like it and want one.
Bills Hat had some stupid barrier of 8 keys. That is no longer the case. The range of 1.22 - 1.33 includes all the sellers and buyers at these prices. It does not mean that the hat is worth 1.22.
A LOT of people buying any craft hats for 1-1.22 on outpost. If we accept the idea that genuines are now 1.22 just because scrap.tf isn't accepting them anymore is just the first step. 2nd will probably be the crappy robohats since scrap.tf also isn't accepting them anymore. 3rd step will be Ellis, 4rd........ I like the idea of taking down the 1.33 barrier but this will crash the tf2 economy. This is actually all Valve it's fault because they added WAY TOO MUCH hats in the last couple of months. I'm really excited to see how this evolves :)
Its the sellers, not the buyers trading at this price. There is a scrapbank.me bot that buys and sells genuines & robos @ 1.33.
Yes I know but the people who buy ANY craft hat @ 1.22 really buy a lot of hats at that price! 1 ref is still hard but 1.22 is possible on outpost & even a lot easier on random trade servers.
at this point I cant tell if you're arguing for or against this suggestion...
I'm neutral because I have no idea, If 1 craft hat will be accepted as 1.22 then it will have a major impact on tf2 economy since the 1.33 barrier was so strong. Whatever craft hat you bought, it would always be at least 1.33. I would love the idea of hats getting cheaper because this is still a game & I love to see guys with outfits for their class. But again I have no idea what the impact will be on the economy so I'm neutral.
It's 4th :)
I agree with you.
Logic has lots of logic.
I win haiku war.
I recently dropped the genuine stahlhelm to 1.22-1.33, with similar proof. Upvote from me.
It was a close call with 56% but you did it, wow :)
thanks for starting a crash to the whole TF2 economy
Just going to copy paste my post from a past suggestion.
Genuine Craft Hats went from 40-50 cents to 20-30 cents on the Steam Market right when the Steam Sale hit. People are just underselling hard so they can just buy more. I've sold about 200+ Genuine Hats for 1.11 each personally. Chances are they'll recover when the Steam Sale ends.
Can we stop posting suggestions for Genuine Craft Hats that are going to be inaccurate when the market starts to normalize?
These are the current market prices. Backpack.tf is a pricing website.
I totally agree with Poppet. These price suggestions for these low tier genuines are totally useless. Well maybe it'll be an accurate price... for 1 day, since Summer Sale will ends tomorrow, and after that market will be the same again, and these 1.22 ref prices will be inaccurate. With that logic, keys should drop in price since they're very cheap at Steam Market atm.
Its what people are doing with the cheap market Genuines that has affected the price. Few people are selling the cheap steam market keys they bought for under 5.66 ref.
Our strange festive prices are innaccurate. We all know on Christmas they're going to spike again, so let's stop lowering them, let's put them at the Christmas prices!
Hell no!
Craft hats are falling, if we didn't show that, it'd be market manipulation. There are willing sellers for 1.22, so don't attempt maniuplation, that's the market for ya. Besides, how does that one scrap change, or one weapon median change effect you? I know it's good news for crafters like me.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/12926151 - another @ 1.22
People stop saying bullshit.
The reason genuines are going down is because of the sale, everyone at the market is quickselling their genuine hats, and the other side of the market is flooding with them. Scrap.tf recently went down because of some issues with the hat bots (related to the sale) they're all full of genuines.
People are willing to sell them for less, but this won't last forever, and I'm pretty sure this will stabillize after the sale.
I agree with this suggestion btw, but this should be resuggested along all other genuine craft items after the end of the sales at (at) least 1.33 ref
CURSE YOU GABEN
Aww man! I thought I was going to have the most recent suggestion on this for the rest of human history... or, at least until some idiot tries to convince us that these can sell for 1.44. -_-
It's okay, though. Going off of what a lot of people have said about the Summer Sale, I expect that Genuines will stop flooding the market after tomorrow and people will stop trying to cash in on them. Worst case scenario is that I re-suggest for 1.33 flat and have a chance of getting my Orange Belt. <3
Need more ... bacon ... huh ..proof sorry
If the genuine pilotka and genuine stahlhelm are now 1.22-1.33 ref, I do see this passing, wanna blame this on someone? blame it on the market. Upvote.
Edit- steam market ;p
Yeah. I expect the Stovepipe Sniper Shako to be the next one to get suggested for 1.22, as there are already ones out there for the Distinguished Rogue and Faerie Solitaire Pin.
The faerie pin hasn't gone down yet? Well that might change *evil face* >:D
OMG !!!! Valve banned idling and hats started dropping? The prophecy is finally becoming true. Or is it ? :P
Oops !!!! I do not see comments about the crippled idling. I guess rare refined theory is not valid here :P
Upvote on the suggestion though.
They are not dropping because of idling, they are dropping since people are selling them at 30 cents or lower on the steam market because of the steam market, the first 2 days when the summer sale started, you can find this hats as low as 10-15 cents, now it kinda going back up, but not even scrap.tf takes them anymore.
Edit~ note that 30 cents is still lower then a ref.
Ha ha ha, yeah mate I know. I think you did not take into consideration the emoticon symbol next to each of my sentence. It more or less marks sarcasm.
Really hard to tell ;3
If craft hats drop below 1.33, I'm gonna be scared for the TF2 Economy.
Aren't you scared yet? The TF2 Economy is already broken.
you can still craft genuines therefore they are a craft hat.......
aaaaaaaand this is why I'm #cashingout
All genuines are dropping in price and the hole tf2 market is crashing not looking good... The average price for hats know is 1.33 tf2 prices on almost everything r dropping
ok screw this I will tell why this whole genuines are being sold for 1.22 or less, it's because in the community market people started to quickselling them for $0.20 USD, so people started buying 5 genuines for $1.00 USD and if even if they sold them for 1.11 refs each, they will have at least 5.55 refs, and with that metal they bought a key so in few words, they got a $1.00 usd key from those genuines
