5 month old price. Old effects (fetti/peace/flies/logo) that were once considered low tier are making a comeback and are becoming valuable, due to the rarity. Just for a comparison, I've sold a PEACE plunger a month ago for 20 keys and those are of the same tiers and numbers roughly.
People constantly reject 15, and even 16 was rejected, meaning that those people were looking for higher (hence the 17 range).

Offers of:
White bills and 5 keys (14 keys, rejected)
14 pure keys (owner bought something else)

offer of 15 keys (rejected)

offer of 15 keys as well (rejected)

offer of 16 pure keys (rejected)
and 15 robokeys from about 2 months ago (15 to 17 keys roughly)
you still need proof of 17, that they are looking for more does not matter if they can not sell it for more.
2 months ago 15 robokeys would have been worth more than a regular key still, so doesn't that satisfy 17?
2 months ago is too old for proof. Usually 1 month and newer offers are valid proof.
The last price update was 6 months ago, so this is still far better.
but it refreshes the caution that the price is old and might be wrong, which is still here in case the price stays this way.
15 robokeys a month ago.
The way outpost works is that it doesn't count the weeks after 1 month, so this was something like 1 month and 3 weeks or so.
Refer to Tasty
Also, http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9797293, I offered roughly 19 keys in items allegedly back then (2 months ago).
Broken link, I'd remove the , at the end
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9797293
and in that link there is a 17 pure key offer
1st gen effects are most definitely increasing due to rarity. From what I've seen, seems like when you unbox an unusual, around 5% of the effects unboxed are 1st gen effects, the rest 2nd gen and 3rd gen effects. Also this proof is pretty good.
There were rumors that you always get an old effect from a crate older than #26. I'm not sure if that was ever debunked/confirmed for sure, as someone unboxed an old effect from a Scorched crate and there have also been other such reports.
Actually, it's a ten percent chance in gen 2 and gen 3 of unboxing an old effect, with 100 percent chance in 26 or before. There was a giant unboxing done with thousands of unboxes a while ago (so goes the rumours I've heard) and that was the percentage roughly.
In the study you guys are referring to, I think the percentage was extremely close to 100% of 1st gen effects. But yes, it is sort of an unwritten fact that you will get 1st gens from <#26 crates.
Thanks mate.
