I don't get it either. The nerf really isn't that bad, chances are that if you whip out the escape plan, you're going to die half the time anyway, this just speeds it up. I do think they could have made one small change though. You know how during the superupdate Valve changed the Steak and the Criticola to do +20% damage taken instead of minicrits? Well, the Escape Plan should be +20% damage taken when out instead of minicrits. It would be basically the same effect, but you wouldn't get murdered by stray bullets with no falloff across the map, which is one of the main complaints. Would also fix the problem of switching through weapons, accidentally pulling out the Escape Plan, and being marked for death for the next few seconds of that fight.
