All craft hats can reach 1.33, even some bots buy for 1.33.

if these bots buy for 1.33 so easy, why dont you buy all the hats @ 1.22 and sell them to the bots for easy profit?

scrap.tf happened.

You could buy them off the market pretty easily during the summer sale for <$0.30 each. Turn them into metal/keys, and it was a fairly easy (if small) profit, even if you couldn't sell them for 1.33 each. With the amount of hats on the market for cheap, the only way to get rid of them in any decent timeframe was to go to 1.22 or less, which would sell them pretty quickly. As more people caught on, more people started selling for 1.22.

Now the prices have gone back up on the market, so hat values should, in theory, slowly return back to 1.33. What you're seeing now, with the more common genuine hats dropping to 1.22, is what actually happened in the market about a day or two after the summer sale started.
