Suggesting based on my trade: http://imgur.com/LuFXT0V
The price is obviously going down as time goes on. I paid 2 buds for it flat. This was the thread with the conversation: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/12757079
Previous sales:
I have only been able to find the sale history for mine. There are currently only two in TF2 as far as backpack.tf is concerned, and I couldn't find either one onf tf2items.com.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/12738103 - Looking for 4.5 buds, sold without discussion. (2 weeks or so ago)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11220015 - Looking for 14 buds, sold without comment. Who knows. (This guy got a lot of static and traded it back and forth several times. I'm not sure if it's from spycrabbing or what - 2 months ago).
So, the market was obviously way up on these, as things always are, and I think it's settling around 2 buds or so.
Basing on the one sold it seems pretty good.
Is there anymore proof of it being sold though?
I haven't been able to find any others with this effect for sale. From what I could find there, are only two in the game: http://backpack.tf/premium/search?cat=particle&particle=68&defindex=30028
I don't know why TF2Stats isn't tracking either one, though: http://stats.tf/item/30028/Metal+Slug
Well, I mean it sort of is, because I can see the level number, but it doesn't have the particle effect. I don't have a tf2items account to search for any others that way. In short, there might be some others on the market, but I can't see them. Well, that's misleading, because mine's off ther market anyway. I love it. :)
Alright, well good luck getting this trough then, it's not often i see a unusual metal slug anyway so this is in sense pretty rare i guess.
Thanks! I tried to dig around and imitate the unusual suggestions that get approved.
I probably won't be able to respond to anyone else for a while, so if an admin sees this and is inclined to reject it, please give me nine hours from now to respond. :)
Yep, all looks good here then.
So you bought it for 2 buds, and the other trades don't provide reliable pricing. Wouldn't a better suggested price be 2 buds, then?
I don't think so, because we're discouraged from making flat price (http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/7-how-to-create-a-good-unusual-price-suggestion/).
I think that a range of 50 to 40 keys reflects its current price adequately, given that I paid 44 keys (1 bud and 22 keys; based on the current value of buds) for it. I tried to suggest a price that took the fluctuating key value of buds into account so that the price can still be stable even if buds value drops or increases.
Quoted from the link:
"Note: A flat value may be used in some extreme cases, like for a 1of1 hat or an extremely rare and expensive unusual. Sometimes in those cases, only the sale price can indicate what it is worth since other offers may only be obviously low offers (or lowballs)"
You can't just make an educated guess on what the price should be if you only have 1 source of evidence.
I thought that was for things like self-made items or unusuals that are both expensive AND rare. Even then... I don't think a +/-15% range is unreasonable based on an actual sale. I guess we just disagree, which is okay. If this gets rejected I'll just suggest a flat price, I suppose.
Maybe 2 buds would have been better and also interesting to see that you made the average price 2.1 buds, but it's close enough.~
PS: Older trades are multi unusual trades with new effects basically, so not really helpful informatoin.
