A story I made up about this suggestion:

The Familiar Fez awoke to the opening of Offline's backpack. It had been sitting in there for some time recently, and the bright light burned his eyes despite his sunglasses.

"Come with me, Fez. We're going on an adventure." Offline said.

The Fez was elated. He hadn't been outside in sometime. Tucked beneath Offline's arm, The Fez chatted incessantly.

"I'm a fez, aren't fezzes cool! Heh heh! That joke's still funny, right!"

Offline walked on in silence, looking slightly morose. He walked to a large pit in the ground. Suddenly Fez panicked. He knew what was in that pit. Offline walked to the edge of the craft pile, and threw Fez in. But Fez managed to grab the side of the craft pit, and the once mighty hat began pleading for mercy.

"NO NO NO NO NO NO GOD NO! PLEASE DON'T PUT ME IN THERE! PLEASE SAVE ME! NO I DON'T WANT TO BECOME ONE OF THEM! I CAN STILL TAUNT, IT'S COOL, RIGHT! PLEASE NO!!!!"

And Offline looked down at the now pathetic and blubbering Fez, and with contempt in his voice said only,

"God has no place in Team Fortress. It is Gaben that has forsaken you."

With a swift kick Offline knocked Fez into the craft pile, while it screamed and screamed. It lived there for the rest of its days, cursing how it had fallen. It would catch a glimpse of daylight from time to time, and found itself wishing it had been born an Unusual.

The Fez knew one thing though. If it ever got out, this "Gaben" would meet vengeance.

Same here, it was one of the first hats I set as a goal for myself when trading.

This was of course back when keys were worth 2.33. Hard to believe that in the course of one year, only a sixth of the entire time TF2 has been out, that the trading value of them has gone up roughly 245.5%.

I miss those days.

I'll miss you

I remember trading for the first time in TF2. The idea of a TF2 economy was crazy and I already saw tons of other cool stuff in tf2 so I got it. I tried trading nametags to get it, but I failed because I didn't know anything about spreadsheets at that time. I eventually became a P2P and still tried to get the Fez, as it was the only hat that could change the gameplay by A LOT, unlike almost every other hat that didn't do anything (Except people look at you in awe if it was a good unusual). I remember my friend then giving me a strange sapper (an unbox of their's) and a Familiar Fez. I was so happy getting that Familiar Fez, I tried it for myself for a bit, and it was great. I happened to trade about 10 seconds later (I was on a trade server) to sell my Strange Sapper (Trying to get a bill's). One guy straight away offered me a bill's for my sapper if "I added more" I was on skype with the friend that gave me the sapper and another good friend and they were excited as I were, I got one so fast! I decided to add my Familiar Fez and Milkman as they were the only real things I could trade. I was sad, but excitement quickly replaced that after equipping the bill's hat on every class. About a week later the new update came out! Yay! So many new hats and miscs that I favorited on the workshop were in! (I however was a bit mad when I bought like 2 robokeys 20 minutes before the update :L) and then I realised. The Fez and Milkman had been nerfed. I had no proper goal in trading to get after that day, and now it is just to get as many buds as we can.

R.I.P the Familiar Fez, 2010 - 2013

May one of the greatest hats of all time fall in the craft-hat pile.

Once upon a time (5 months ago) these were worth a key. But back then, a key was only 4 ref.... Those were some good times... It's sad how fast these dropped after valve nerfed the set.
