Sold for Bubbling Medic’s Mountain Cap + stuff 18.5*0.9=16.65+
Although there was a sale at 12 keys, the five offers at 13 keys makes 13 keys a better low end. Also note that the 12 key B/O got snatched up very quickly, the trade only has 20ish views (with 5 of them being me.) The high end comes from the three 16+ key offers and the Bubbling Medic’s Mountain Cap sale.
Feedback welcome!
Sold > Offers. The fact that it was sold a week ago only works against you.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11899444 Unsold.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11606841 1 month ago. Has been traded twice after this trade.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11985642 1 month ago. Has been traded twice
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/12089679 3 weeks ago. Has been traded four times since this trade.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6384980 Unsold. Looks like the trade has been forgotten about.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11201184 Hat has halloween paint according to his last comment, also unsold.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10863108 1 Month old trade. Hat has been traded 6 times.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/11606841 This is the same hat as http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/12089679, except even further back in the history.
The only recent sale supports the old range. Otherwise, you don't have any proof of the new price besides unsolds and old trades.
First, unsold does not apply to unusuals, it just shows that the current offers got rejected.
Second, for unusuals, 1 month old trades are acceptable as proof.
Third, past sales and offers are excellent proof, as long as it's within the one month time span. The reason that the subsequent trades aren't shown is because there was no written evidence of how much it sold for an therefore wouldn't make acceptable proof.
Fourth, paints don't really matter on unusuals.
Fifth, the fact that the 12 key B/O sold with less than 20 views actually works for me, as it shows that 12 keys is considered a quicksell.
All your points are invalid.
Unsolds aren't proof when it comes to unusuals. Nor are offers. Also when they're asking for more then how much their worth due to the paint, I'd certainly say that makes a difference.
You need recent sales, not ones that happened months ago where the hat has changed hands a few times. You proved what it was a month ago. If you suggested back when all these traded happened, it would be an easy upvote.
I don't see how it's a quicksell if it was in the range. I sold my Engie's cap Blizy storm at 23 keys when the range was 20-22 within 10 views and a half hour. The seller was in the right place at the right time.
Edit: Just to prove a point, if I offered 4 buds on this hat and the person declined it, does that mean it's suddenly more then 4 buds? No it doesn't.

All from here. (my comments in parentheses)
DO find written evidence of offers.
DO find confirmable past sales. (See.) TF2Outpost and TF2Items let you see the trading histories of many items, including unusuals. Dig into the past and find offers on past listings that are by future owners of the hat. If you cannot find any written offers, try looking at the histories of promos and other unusuals traded around the time by both owners to see if they were traded between those owners of the hat you are researching.
How old is outdated? That can vary from unusual to unusual, depending on how rare it is and how often it is traded. A good length of time is 1 month. Try not to provide proof older than 1 month if at all possible. (Meaning 1 month is still acceptable.)
DO NOT use very young trades as proof. More specifically, do not use the buyout of a very recent listing to support bumping down the price of an unusual. It may be a quicksale or discounted price. A few days to a week or more should be enough to tell the difference between a quicksale and a normal buyout. (Shows that 12 keys is a quicksale)
Setting the high end.
DO set it to the highest reasonable past sale. This is the best way to set the high end.
DO set it slightly higher than the highest rejected offer if no past sales are available. (In this case 16 keys)
Setting the low end.
DO set it to lower past sales, if many past sales are available. (Not many past sales have written evidence, 12 key looks like quicksale)
DO set it to a commonly offered amount (The method I used, used 13 keys as the commonly offered amount as the only written offer found is 15 keys)
Sorry, It's all written down by jjon.
Still, these are old sales when there are far more recent ones considering how many times most of these hats have moved. You should be showing those, not ones that happened a while ago in their history. Also these trades don't show what they were sold for either.
Exactly my point. I researched recent trades too, but they don't show what they sold for either. In fact, they didn't even have decent offers. They serve no purpose as proof what so ever. The ones posted show offers that are above the current price setting the high end and also show the abundance of 13 key offers, setting the low end.
A typical recent trade:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/12729941
The most recent trade on most the mongolians on outpost is 1 month ago, so...
Even if there are recent trades, the history looks like this:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/12995738
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/12941112 Note: The person who bought that other mongolian.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/12808520 Note the comment that the owner would have accepted 13 keys, could have been additional proof for a 13 key low end, but didn't sell to him.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/12282825 Sold B/O but B/O is unknown
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10863108 Oh, one month old.
Basically no useful proof until the one month old trade, which has the nuts fro 16.2 key offer.
For the quicksale thing, as you can see, the hat sold with less than 20 views (when I first found the trade, maybe even less), but additionally, it sold for less than what was commonly offered at the time, 13 keys. Also, the "if it was in the range", the previous price suggested was actually 15-17 keys
http://backpack.tf/vote/id/516c256e4bd7b81f2a000020
the price just got lowered because of the usd thing. The outdated price just caused the misconception that 12 keys is not a quicksale for this hat.
Edit: That's why I'm suggesting this...
And, if one person offered 4 buds and declined it, maybe not, but if 4 people offered and declined it, likely the high end would be 4 or 4.1 buds.
Wow such a discussion. Try to.find more.sales anyway (bp.tf inventory history, ask.owners)
I got a response from the third link owner.
He said he sold for 14 keys + items that add up to over a key.
New offer on the 6th link, "5 keys, vintage vintage tyrlon, gen AWP, shred tuant, vintage stock bro, and modest pile of hats for mongo "
About 12.84 counting .9 overpay on genuines and vintages, low end on uniques.
Received confirmation of sale from Sweaty Palms (3rd link).
