1 year old price, and the last suggestion was accepted based on this http://backpack.tf/vote/id/5036ccfa9ae21ac638000000 .
Anyways, proof:
http://scrap.tf/hats <-- A bunch here, all for sale at 1.22.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13017489 - 1.22
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13525068 - 1.22
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13506803 - 1.22
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13523235 - Sold for 1.22
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13509623 - Sold for 1 ref
Only other link I could find was this one:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/8830938 - Bought at 1.11 4 months ago
Every other seller on outpost is asking for 1.33.
No need to provide unsolds as I am leaving 1.33 in the range for now.
Comments are always appreciated.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13525068 sold in half a day
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13506803 sold within 2 days (unknown)
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13523235 sold within a day
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13509623 sold within a day
you have 1 valid link of 1.22, which is not enough to convince me a drop is justified.
Not enough valid proof. The boat goes down.
Nice proof. Interestingly enough, never seen this hat worn in game. In all my 550 hours of play. Upboat.
scrap.tf is invalid proof. Other 3 trades are quick-sells. The other link was made 4 months ago and got one 4 months ago. He's also quick-buying, and quick buyers are invalid proofs as well as scrap.tf: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13531378 . 1.22 is a quicksell, as they sell fine at 1.33 ref. Downvote
"Scrap.tf is invalid proof". Well actually no it's not. The link that was made 4 months ago is more recent than the current price. I'm not saying they don't sell fine at 1.33. If the other trades are quicksells then why aren't they sold?
It is an invalid proof, EVERY hat there is bought and sold for 1.22ref. Conquistador is a craftable hat and thus is worth 1.33ref.
"Conquistador is a craftable hat and thus is worth 1.33 ref". There are many craftable hats at 1.22-1.33 ref. The fact that every hat there is bought and sold for 1.22 ref isn't a negative thing, and it doesn't make the proof invalid. You can't just ignore scrap.tf and say that it doesn't have influence over the market because it does.
if scrap.tf was valid proof, all 1.33 ref hats would go down to 1.22 ref hats. lolnope. scrap.tf is invalid proof for price suggestions
You are stating that scrap.tf is invalid, with no reason why. Every hat should go down to 1.22-1.33 ref, there's no reason they shouldn't. It IS valid because buyers aren't going to pay 1.33 when they can buy for 1.22. Ignoring the fact that they are readily available at 1.22 is pointless. And 1.33 is still in the range.
http://i.imgur.com/PXvy5zr.png Maybe?
All I'm seeing is "scrap.tf doesn't count". There are almost more clean conquistadors in scrap.tf than there are on outpost. How is that not valid proof?
"It's there for convience."
So what you are saying is the hats for sale at 1.22 are only for sale at that price for convenience? Convenience to whom? I won't be replying to anymore comments, I have proven my point.
there is actually a reason. scrap.tf is a quicksell page.
Tell me why scrap.tf is invalid proof? They sell hats at 1.22, including this one, there is many unsold at that price.
3 links and scrap.tf which doesn't count. Find more.
Why exactly does scrap.tf not count?
It's there for convience.
Oh that makes much more sense. Convient sales don't count. Sure thing. Also, it's not the sales I'm counting from scrap.tf but that fact that they are available at the price of 1.22 refined.
Geel9, co-creator of scrap.tf, hates scrap.tf being used as proof. He made a Bill's Hat suggestion because he was so angered by people doing it so much: http://backpack.tf/vote/id/514bc9a1ba25361a20000004
cleverpun, a mod of backpack.tf, set a precedent about scrap.tf on the suggestion as follows:
Verbatim:
"I never consider scrap.tf valid evidence for any price change--their business model is based on convenience."
- cleverpun
We aren't talking about the hats that scrap.tf has bought, we are talking about the ones available for sale at 1.22.
You mean the 3 people on Outpost selling for 1.22, and the other person who has been quick-buying it for 1.11 ref for 4 months and has only bought 1?
There aren't too many trades on outpost selling for 1.22, but there are some. There are some sold below as well. There are not many of the hat itself anywhere on outpost - only 1 and a third pages of sellers in the large view (50 trades per page). The rest of my 1.22 proof comes from the fact that there are OVER 30 hats available in the scrap.tf bots at 1.22 to buy. Thus 1.22-1.33.
its a craft hat craft hats are 1.33
I'm still confused on why scrap.tf isn't allowed when it's SELLING FOR LOWER than current prices. There is an automated system that allows me to buy this hat for 1.22 at any time. If anything, that should be even more solid proof for a price drop.
You can buy Conquistadors for 1.22 ref any time, no haggling, no nonsense.
If the queue is too big, look there, first TF2OP trader is offering 1.22 and still hasn't sold it at the time of posting.
Why should people even pay for 1.33, they've got an always online bot that sells it for cheaper and provides "convenience".
Point is, scrap.tf as a sole proof might not be accepted, but no reason to deny it especially when it's supplemented by actual trades. If a store sells soda for $1.50 and a vending machine right outside sells it for $1, is $1 still a valid price for soda? I would say yes, but I guess you can deny it and insist that $1.50 is the price of the soda.
Thanks, thats what I'm saying.
Scrap.tf or any automated service does not constitute to valid proof as people from the need of quick metal do not mind the lower price and pay for the convenience. This is similar to quick buyers where sellers go to them for quick metal same reason why scrap.tf isn't accepted. They also buy currencies for lower and people still sell them doesnt mean that the bills/buds/items they buy should go down right?
Here is a guide to making suggestions might answer some of your Qs. http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/3203-guide-making-good-suggestions/
Hope i helped!
well what you said is true, but sadly does not answer his question.
He is confused because scrap.tf also SELLS at 1.22, and has alot in stock, which i think is a pretty good point/
Ah my apologies didnt quite read it throughly but to follow up again scrap.tf is a automated service atm which is where a bulk of his proof comes from. Since scrap.tf is a service that can at any time and day change their prices. Before it was buying at 1.22 and selling at 1.33 and before that it was 1.33 regularly. If suggestions with a bulk of their proof coming from services like this are accepted what happens when the said service changes their price?
It is equivalent to have a single seller (which has alot) selling at 1.22. If a single seller isnt considered enough proof why should a single automated service which again can change price at any time be considered?
I don't get why there is so much stigma around lowering craft hats, rarely anybody buys hats for the purposes of crafting nowadays aside from when new items are added to the list of hats that can be crafted. This is due to the slim chance that they will get a craft # <100.
People putting up hats like the conquistador or cadavers cranium for trade at 1.33 expecting to get a sale because its a 'Craft Hat' are deluding themselves because its rare people buy hats for the sole purpose of crafting. Most TF2 players would simply rather buy a much nicer hat for the same price, which leaves ugly hats like these unsold for long periods of time, which means the sellers of these hats lower their prices in an attempt to sell them quickly. Either that or they just sell to scrap.tf.
Even when hats like these are sold to scrap.tf they still sit there for a while, just taking up inventory space. The argument that scrap.tf should not be allowed as proof is just odd ( read: fucking retarded), it is basically a very big 'Quickbuy' trade. I know quickbuy trades are not normally allowed as proof; however the exception to this is when these trades are getting above normal levels of sellers, thus creating the need for a price change to be made.
There are 42 conquistadors sitting in the bot's inventories available to buy for 1.22 ( and bought by bots at that price too), that's almost 50% of the amount available on outpost and most likely at the same price or cheaper than 100% of the trades on there, I would say a price change is needed.
Also lets not forget that 1.33 is still in the range.
However most of those 42 conquistadors were bought at 1.33 so you can't really accurately tell, also what happens if scrap.tf is quick selling because they don't like the hat market?
Since you are doing this, might as well as do the same to...
Every other hat in the scrap.tf bot's inventory.
GL
not enough proof :/
We might as well give all the craft hats the 1.22-1.33 price like that.
Ellis (crappy hat) & genuines (huge supply) are already 1.22-1.33 but this hat is just a craft hat like you got a hundred out there. Not enough proof in my opinion but I'm staying neutral.
and thus the final stable part of tf2's economy has crumbled
Sorry about caps here just going to clearly explain something: THE BASE PRICE OF ANY CRAFT HAT IS 1.33 THERE FORE 1.22 IS A QUICKSELL,I don't know about new trend and all but downvote regardless
-not a genuine hat-
DOWNVOTE!!!!
Seriosuly though, dont use scrap.tf
I don't think this is right. You have almost zero proof to provide to drive down the whole hat market. It's a downvote for me.
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquistion
Sorry not enough valid Proofs
+Downboat
When they say that scrap.tf is there for convenience, they mean that most sales on that site are quicksells. Scrap.tf deliberately places the majority of their prices below the current market price in order to sell the items more quickly. They used to sell craft hats for 1.33, but because of the huge buildup of hats with no one buying, they have dropped the price to make them more interesting to buyers.
The Conquistador craft hat price 1.33 ref
Craft hat price is an artificial price floor imo. The only reasoning I heard of was something about crafting 2 hats = 3 refined hat crafting. So 1.44 would seem like a more logical value if you go with that. There really is no direct minimum conversion rate. A hat is worth as much or less as the buyers are willing to pay for it. In the same way a regular hat can be 1 key, a regular hat can be 1.22.
But the whole point of craft hats is that you're supposed to craft them together. So if even hat crafters aren't willing to pay 1.33 anymore, no wait, people aren't even willing to pay 1.22 to craft hats together as scrap.tf shows.
With more and more items in the games, you have less of a chance of making profit by crafting hats. And so you end up with a stockpile of craft hats nobody buys, price should logically go down. Supply and demand as people like to call it here.
As already mentioned with the Ellis Cap, a craft hat has already been pushed down to 1.22. So this isn't a completely foreign concept. Same for other scrap.tf hats, assuming they have a surplus of that hat, and the market is saturated with unsold 1.33s.
If maintaining stability is the reason to downvote, well that's just ignoring every other part of this economy that's changing. Buds and Bills has already lost stability as currency, as their value in keys continue to go down. The price of keys and paints rising would imply that refined metal is losing value. But apparently just about every hat is dropping in price.
I seriously don't get these suggestions. THEY'RE CRAFT HATS. Downvote.
downvote just because it's a craft hat, not to be taken seriously, doesn't really need a price drop
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13525068 sold to scrap.tf xD
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13486061 another for 1.22
Many many unsold for 1.33
