month old item, no price

can't find any evidence of sales for metal, but it has sold several times on the community market. take a look at what evidence I have and decide for yourself whether or not this is accurate. criticism is welcome.

community market

sales in the past week, starting with the most recent

(sellers received) $0.16, $0.19, $0.21, $0.21, $0.18, $0.16, $0.19, $0.23, $0.28

buyers pay 115% of the price above, 1 refined metal equals about $0.35

not the best evidence to work with, but the item currently has no price. it is one of the cheapest on the community market, so this seems to be as accurate as we can get.

I'll upvote it. This thing has been out for awhile, not many trades go with it. Glad you could get some for proof though.

I was the buyer at $0.16, so I figured I'd look into it.

Um... Why don't you ask the last link how much he sold it? The Last link had sold it to the first link already...

nice catch. unfortunately, I don't believe he was entirely truthful. He says he sold it for 2 refined, but I doubt the buyer would pay 2 ref just to turn around and sell it for 1. http://i.imgur.com/AfMXeLK.png

I don't see why he'd lie about that, the other guy just probably needed to sell it fast.

I don't see why either, but there is less than a day between the two trades. Even if that sale had occurred, there are already sellers below 2 ref, so it wouldn't make sense to include it in the range.

This seems like a decent range, all of the other strange filters are in this area.

I agree. Especially since the metal ranges of the Community Market solds are half of the prices trying to be sold on outpost.

I have a hard time accepting this one in the absence of non-market sales of 0.66. Will leave this up to see if anyone else chimes in.

no idea if this helps the case, but I had offered 0.66 before seeing the $0.18 one on the market. ended up just selling a genuine human cannonball for $0.62 after fees and grabbed it.

I guess it depends on whether you guys would rather have an educated guess/estimate or leave it unpriced.

A lot of items sell more frequently on market than they do on trading sites. I sell all my botkillers often for above bp.tf price there. I have no issues personally with using it to help assess what the range on an item is, especially for something rare. But not everyone agrees with this. Based on those market prices, it seems clear to me that your range is good (and the community agrees).

The issue really is that, in establishing precedents by basing your entire low end on a market price, it sometimes confuses people about whether market sales are acceptable proof. For an item that is more commonly sold on market than trading sites, I feel using market as proof is reasonable.

Admin told me, if you make a suggestion - you cant use steam market sales as evidence.

1 ref seller is still unsold... Accepting
