You need to include unusual overpay, also you need get more recent proof
He did use overpay...
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13387717 - Sold for Stormy 13th Rack(3.2-4.2) + Peace Tossle (2.3-2.6) With overpay: 5.5 Buds
Some were offered this + 1 bud also. Still that only gives 6.5 Buds
With the other overpay calculation this gives 6.2*0.9+1=6.6 Buds
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13262521 - Okay, though doesn't support top range.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/5010430 - offered Blizz Bomber + 1 bud (7.8-8.3 buds) - 2 Months ago
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/12093336 - Sold for Anti-Freeze Softcap (7.8 buds) Sale was 2 months ago
Also the price of the softcap was based on a single sale 2 months ago, valuing it at 6.8. Which was then bumped up by currency changes to 7.8.
Overpay = using the low end
...
The guy added a bud (for the top one), please don't just assume and actually check sales.
I did use overpay, and my proof is recent.

blizz bomber was retracted (user hid own post) also it is 2 months old.
the issue with pricing the softcap is very valid. In addition to it being 2 months old and priced off only one sale, you must calculate overpay even with flat prices, so in that case the price with overpay would be ~7.
