Suggestion: Strange Summer Shades at 7–9 keys

The graph shows history of all the strangifiers, so it's not possible to see what it was sold for previously. There's one currently going for $13 tho (which is close to 6.5 keys), bringing the strange one's value to ~9 keys (taking into account the wrap's cost)

My point is, Ive seen these sell for everything from 6 keys to 15 keys in the past couple days and its just too early to put a price on them. I was under the impression that the new stranges would have their "strangified" stats added to the backpack price as with paints. This suggestion shouldn't pass, or the admins on this site need to sit down and talk with each other, and maybe agree on what the standards should be.

Not much faith in that happening, so I will stay neutral.

No. He has had 5 suggestions passed whilst he was banned. I've had a suggestion passed whilst I was banned and many others do. He's made a mistake which got him banned. This does not mean his suggestions aren't good, because they are. His backpack value is really low because he's unboxing and just isn't lucky. Still doesn't mean his suggestion can't be valid. He's asking me to make you stop giving him notifications and spamming/clogging this site by adding many useless comments about you being banned. We don't judge a suggestion by somebody's situation but by his (or her, but mainly his) proof.

Their ban was for comment spam (as you can see on their profile). I have talked to pyroman about circumventing bans, but their ban doesn't discredit any of their outstanding suggestions. If it had, the mod who issued the ban would've closed them at the same time as banning the user.

Aren't chemistry sets with the same output require different inputs? like one of my friends had his require a gold botkiller as the expensive ingredient for his summer shades strangifier, and one of my other friends (who has not finished and will never) has his chem set require a strange gunslinger. Like really, i don't understand. But that was only a question, if it cant be answered then you don't have to.

The problem is you made this when they were still almost brand new, a strangifier is close to $8 as of now and still falling.

remember that the summer shades are an expensive misc on their own, so the full price of that has to be added since you still need a unique one to apply the strangifier

The thing is he used as "evidence" that strangifiers are around $13, I am simply pointing out that at this time they are MUCH less. Every day that passes the cost falls more and will for a while. I disagree with trying to set a price on something that is in the process of falling rapidly. It will likely settle at about a key over the unique version

Yeah, I mind less on the ones that were cheaper to start with, but I don't want people actually thinking these are worth 7-9 when I have been selling quality chem sets for these and waited hours to get $3-4 dollars for them. I hope you guys realise that the items themselves can be definitely priced but not the sets. Strangifiers should be able to have prices too. This is because it is possible to use cheaper method chem sets than expensive ones. Example: eventually people find out that there are some chem sets that require ~2-3 ref of input while others require about a bud's worth.. Why would the price be any higher than 2-3 ref? Exactly.

The only reason these are so high is because of the item itself and the rarity/newness. I rest my case, upvote from me. (Well actually, can't give it any more upvotes, so it's an imaginary upvote.)

It might be worth noting that trade.tf even puts it at 7 keys on the high end. I would think that by now 9 keys is more of a fluke than an accurate price

The thing is you can price the stragifiers, and they are clearly under 3 keys. If a normal one is 4 keys and a strangifier is 2-3 keys, then the range should be 6-7 keys.

But they are more accurate than your suggestion. When you can buy a summer shades from classifieds and a strangifier from steam market for a combined price under 7.5 keys easily, there is no reason to think it could get 9 keys for one. Your price was right the second it was posted (a few days after they came out), but more strangifiers get on the market every day and the prices are getting lower.

Maybe if you checked the supposed "counterproof" (some comments above, the ones that were shitposting), they were still getting a few higher offers.

The thing is several of the offers that were made and rejected are very old. Its the owners' fault in the cases where they rejected offers clearly better than they should ever get again. I do not understand how if you could buy both ingredients needed to make the strange at the SELLERS' prices for under 7.5 keys, that it could be worth 9. It's not.

Several of the strangifiers are available for much less, yet sellers of the strange items themselves could get much higher for them.

What concerns me is that I have looked at outposts posts where sellers are using your suggested price as a reason to decline offers, and then that ends up using that as additional evidence for the price. If it were possible for you to sell the stranges for more, then someone would be smart enough to buy up a lot of summer shades and strangifiers and do it. There is a reason that this suggestion has yet to be approved despite all the positive votes, and I am pretty sure that reason is common sense.

Strangifiers are easiest to price, then comes the items they make strange, and the hardest is the chem sets because of how many different versions there are. Is what im trying to say.

Yeah its not worth the hassle trying to price chem sets. I think the best way to do it is to take the current price of the strangifier it would make and subtract the costs of all the items in it in order to get the true value, but at the same time absolutely awful ones still sell to people that don't know better.

Actually its just that the really good shades ones have been bought up and used. The bird man seems more common and the strangifiers are so cheap that people do not even want the pretty good ones. The inputs are very random. I am pretty sure the only thing consistent with them is that they require a random strange weapon (the scarf being an exception).

Wide range, but I don't have a problem with that. It's genuinely selling at 7-9. NOTE: Price is based on the shades without the wrap. It would be 8-10 for pre-wrapped shades.
