And honestly what are we even talking about this for? Even if these sales could be confirmed, they'd be a few outliers out of 69,000 in the game. Hardly enough for a change.

The 1.88 guy is the same as the first 1.66 guy and it isn't sold. The tf2tp ones cannot be verified, leaving only one possible sale for 1.66 which is not confirmed.

The Fez knew one thing though. If it ever got out, this "Gaben" would meet vengeance. ...

-ONE MONTH LATER-

Some avid trader and repwhore on backpack.tf known as xTH3RM4Lx was wandering around the different lands of VALVe.

When he suddenly stumbled across the mystic pile known to man as the "craft hat pile". He was delighted to have found it. he could hear from far away the cries of the many forgotten, hated, unwanted hats screaming to be liberated from that pile. He could see as he approached some fancy hat that had a resemblance of a saharan fez. He found the Familiar Fez, the one the evil Offline had killed a month ago. It was crying alone, definetely not feeling well, suffering far more than any of the other craft hats.

TH3RM4L, being a kind-hearted trader, decided to be brave and get across the fierce Gaben wall that blocked entry into the pile of craft hats.

Equipped with the spy's dead ringer, he managed to fake his death caused by Gaben's sale attack. He succeeded in getting away with the Fez, effectively saving it forma painful death in the craft hat pile and being forsaken forever in the 1.33 price.

From that day on, Gaben swore vengeance on TH3RM4L and the Fez, and has yet one more sale plan to deal one final blow on the fez~

...yet apparently that's not how it happened.

During the very first encounter, Gaben learned a new move known as "Counter", which killed TH3RM4L in a single blow, THE END.

The fez was grabbed by the mighty Gaben after TH3RM4L died. The fez was weakened by Gaben's mighty blows. They fought for not even one hour. The fez was just too weak and was about to be defeated by Gaben. The fez ran for his life before realizing his dead ringer had been nerfed. If not for this dead ringer, the fez might have escaped with his life. But it wasn't meant to be. Gaben caught the fez and dragged it to a familiar place. When he was put into the craft hat pile for the second horrific time, he hoped that vengeance would have a second chance. He knew, in his heart, that he didn't belong with the rest of the craft hat pile.

DA FEZ LIVES AGAIN

Before Gaben knew, he saw himself. It was the fez who had used his eternal reward, a gift that Gaben had given him on September 30,2010, the day the fez had been created. But now, it was Gaben versus Gaben. Suddenly, a wall came. No one knows to this day wether it was a wall of proof, a brick wall, or if it was Offline returning to save the fez he had killed 1 month earlier. All we know is that the fez had worked his way out of the craft hat pile and that Gaben was still alive, and would seek revenge on the dead ringer, the eternal reward, and the l'etranger.

A month after Fez had been thrown into the craft pit, he came across Genuine Ketche. An old friend; another mighty hat that had fallen to the bottom dredge of the craft pile.

"Oh, bonjour! Tis been many days since I have seen you, Fez!" Ketche said, a coy grin in his eye.

Fez only looked upward, back to the sunlight; the warming glow of Dustbowl that he missed so dearly. He silently cursed under his breath. One day. He had sworn one day he would rise, and with a bloody vengeance.

Fez shuddered. He knew what he must do.

"Hey, Genuine Ketche, take a walk with me. I want to show you something over on the side of the pit."

Genuine Ketche was happy. He asked excitedly "Where are we going?"

"You'll see when we get there, Ketche," is all that Fez could say, choking back emotion.

Ketche walked to the side of the craft hat pit, and said "What are we doing over here?"

Abruptly, with tears in his sunglasses, Fez jumped behind and throttled Ketche. As Fez strangled the life out of him, he thought of how Offline and Gaben had cursed this existence. But he would survive. Fez would rise again.

The last word Fez heard from Genuine Ketche was "Why?"

In Ketche's dying breath, Fez said "So that I may survive and thrive once more."

Fez then began to search for other Genuines left in the pit. There must be others. They had been his friends once. The once mighty hat knew that with their bodies; their unwilling sacrifice; he might begin to make a ladder with which to climb, to rise from the ashes of the pit.

And when he did, this "Gaben" would know vengeance.

There will always be successful sellers above and below bp.tf price. The range doesn't have to be 1-1.66 to cover all of these. 1.33 seems to be by far the most commonly traded price for this.
