Suggestion: Pink as Hell at 5.66–6 ref

You see, I think the problem is that they are going on Steam Market for ~$1.70, while keys are going for ~$2.10, so a lot of people are trying to buy and then sell for a key, to make a "40 cent profit". But there are so many of them that it's getting impossible to sell for a key.

I dunno guys, that's the way I see it.

You could probably do a similar suggestion for lime paint and gift wraps.

Well, the market thingy. You make just 10 cents or so due to the market fees. But yeah, I agree. Those pink paints are quite hard to sell for a key. It's possible, but very hard. (I'm able to sell just 2-4 pink paints a week at this price...)

Well of course they sell for less in the market since they are cheaper than keys in the mannco store.

Sorry, it's more of a personal preference. I've always hated the whole fraction of a key thing, it's so ambiguous and hard to agree on.

If someone can show me how to take screenshots, I have screens of sold pink paints over the last month and I'll gladly show to counter prove.

you can take screencaps using a screen recording app like puush or imgur, I'd recommend using puush myself, it's much easier to use and cleaner

btw, I don't really think month old sales are good counterproof

For example 0.9 keys at 5.77-6 ref per key is 5.193-5.4 ref, or 5.2965 ref on average. And as far as I'm concerned, it's absolutely impossible to pay 5.2965 ref. That's just my opinion.

This is literally a 1 weapon decrease in price though.

Haha yeah sorry about that I didn't realize until afterwards. But if you look at the trades of people asking for keys, they're mostly taking exactly 6 ref as a key.

I don't really understand this suggestion. Here are my issues with it:

(1) Your argument seems to be that the current range is too high and yet you are lowering it by only 1 weapon in absolute value - essentially you are just changing this to be valued in refined. And these have always trended with keys.

(2) You don't even provide proof to support your full range. I don't see any proof for 6 ref. The only proof I see in this suggestion posted in comments is sellers for a key.

(3) Pretty much all your links are getting adds like crazy. The only reason the seller at 5 is up is that he seems to be afk a lot. And one of your 5.33's is selling at 1 key.

Bottomline, my issue is this: There will always be sellers above and below bp.tf price. This doesn't mean that we need to make an all-encompassing range. We should show the most commonly traded price for an item as common as paint. Posting 10 links does not seem to be sufficient to capture the market value of this item.

1. They even used to $2.50 on store but now they are $2.00. Trends change, why is it hard for backpack.tf to accept it. His links very well prove the suggested price. The transition is necessary because the trades apparently are not happening in keys but it's happening in refined metal. And however small the change may be, backpack.tf is to report prices irrespective of the number.

2. The currency conversion does not call for any overpay; the current key price is 5.77-6 ref. The 6 ref range is already proved, you definitely do not need it to be proven again.

3. Yeah they are getting add like crazy hence this suggestion was made to reflect that change in price.

Your issue is totally yours in this instance I am afraid. The rollover from keys to refined is already happening and it needs to be reflected. Of course I am happy to change my view if you can come up with traceable counter proof.

The problem is the other way around. The status quo is that the price is 1 key. 10 links is not sufficient to say give a reflection of the market. Provide enough links to make the case and not a single person will object to this change

That's all I can find on outpost and classifieds. If you check links some of them have shit loads to sell.

About 200+ sellers on outpost alone selling for 1 key flat or 6 ref, 75% of them have multiples in stock to sell. Many sellers on bazar.tf for 5.33-5.66 ref but most of them are unbumped.

That's all I asked. For solid proof. It would have been great if the suggester had posted evidence like this up front

This isnt a needed change, like many other people said, it's like 0.01 key difference, so you shouldnt change it. You could also maybe change it to 0.9-1 keys? Idk, but im staying neutral on this one

i think 0.9-1 key would be better in the long run, if keys were ever to increase above 6 ref then the range would be invalid and would need updating
