WHAT? Why would you accept a 5.5-6 range??? With absolutely no explanation/justification??????? WHAT???? LOL. Re-suggesting with absolutely no revisions. Fuck this shit, I'm going to go play GTA and if someone can even start to make an argument for why 5.5 should be in this range, I'd absolutely love to hear it. The author of the previous suggestion didn't even think 5.5 should be in the range anymore, jesus christ. Mr bucket come at me bro. I'd especially love to hear your thoughts, and if you give me some bullshit about a range I will flip. Some borderline abysmally weak stuff here.

http://imgur.com/a/2w6uk The bp.tf prices that came off the market in the past day, I'm assuming the 5 sales are 5.5, trade.tf will only go by increments of 1 key on the bp.tf classifieds for whatever reason.

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/14427236 Apparently sold 2 for 14 keys, and also apparently bought 2 more for ~6 each since I started this suggestion

Conclusion

People are hoarding these like it's the second coming of christ (no I do not know why you would need crates for the second-coming of christ, but the analogy is staying in. Problems, fitemeirl). http://www.tf2outpost.com/backpack/76561198029163096 http://www.tf2outpost.com/backpack/303881 These guys, for example, just started, and they're up to 10-20. Hoarders are working together to buy all of them up for 6 keys right now. 5 and 5.5 come off the market extremely quickly, getting dwarfed. Bottom line, if you put yours up for 6 keys someone is going to buy it. If you take a couple seconds to look, you can find quick-buyers who are looking to buy for 6 keys. The person who made the last suggestion, Napoleon, was going to other people's trades to buy them at 6 keys each hours after his suggestion of 5-6.....

you upvoted the suggestion you're complaining about. why not make the counter-suggestion while that one was still open? How did Bucket err in any way when you agreed that the proposed range was more accurate and no other suggestions were open?

I did, this suggestion was a counter suggestion. He took that one over this one, and it automatically closed it.

Why not ask Mr. Bucket about why he preferred that suggestion over yours?

Shouldn't he have clarified on one of the suggestions?

mmm, my mistake. it's a bit late here. If you'd like to hear Bucket's reasoning behind his decision, you can try the forums: http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/75-guidelines-for-suggestion-question-threads/ - it's a bit more civil than the way you've called out the mods in both of your suggestions

Really don't care about decorum. If something is correct and justifiable, then it's correct and justifiable whether or not I'm a nice understanding dude or an asshole. Bottom line, people don't call people out on this site enough, one of the reasons why it gets such a bad rap.

considering the amount of work the mods put in to keep this place updated, it's unfortunate they have to deal with people like you.

I'm completely fine with that. I'll respect the work if it isn't lazy. Can't be 100% right all of the time, but this negligent shit makes me angry. Appears he didn't even read any of the comments or anything, only way someone wouldn't have known there wasn't a counter-suggestion at the time, like 3 people mention it. Who doesn't vote before reading the comments??? Much less actually accept a suggestion?

i feel fine considering i can use it to my advantage no matter who sets the prices to what as long as bp.tf is the central pricing guide i will make profit no problem

this place is just the old scammer spreadsheet with a new face and a mask. true the people can make the suggestions of any price they want but they have to be accepted by a mod or admin who get to click yes or no

This economy runs on a "scammer spreadsheet" then. How do you feel about that.

Not everything is about profit. I promise, the day you stop caring about profit, you'll enjoy trading a hell of a lot more. One of the reasons this site is so frustrating, it caters to people like you, ~+-30% of prices on this site are always either misleading or outdated, goes double for unusuals, way too easy to prey on people with these outdated prices. And if you get into a market you don't have any experience in, odds are you're getting fucked, whether it's because of a dupe, an artificially inflated item, in a buyers market, etc etc. Too easy to put a number on everything and call it done, especially when the only thing keeping this bullshit from being passed or rejected is the judgement of a couple dudes that really don't know better than anyone else in the first place.

I think that those 3 suggestions to raise the price of #50 to a certain amount created a hype. So the sellers hold their precious crates even more, raise the prices and the buyers raise the prices too.

When I suggested, it did represent the market at the moment I posted.

A few days ago, you were lucky to be offered 6 keys. Now? much more buyers are buying for 6, and sellers have offers of more than 6 keys, and still not taking them.

If your 6 flat gets approved, I am not sure it will represent the market the next day.

This is pretty much the case with 80% of the items on this site, and 100% the case with items with hype/decreasing hype surrounding them. Out of a suggested range, another range is formed. End of the day, people are still trying to find any way to make some quick profit, this crate is no exception

I am saying that you criticized me for the wrong price/range, but with all that hype going on your might not be the correct one tomorrow. Even if it is incorrect, the price will still rise, indicating the direction of the item. From there, it is easier to raise the price than raise the price of an item with a falling price.

I wasn't being negatively critical, I respect the time you put into your suggestion, but one of the easiest parts to make a mistake on is the range. A lot of people have problems looking at a bunch of data points and making a solid determination on what they actually indicate about a given market. For example, if I had made my suggestion at the same time as you, I would have still made a 6 key suggestion. Even though 6 keys is what they're going for now, I'm seeing few cross the threshold into 6 keys+, although http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/14387601 6 keys 2 ref desperation offer still occasionally comes along. Even if this suggestion becomes invalid after a day, doesn't mean we should just leave the market be until a hyped item stabilizes. Still needs to be validly priced, and 5.5 being in the range is highly misleading at this point

I actually didn't see your suggestion when I accepted the other one, apologies (not so say I would have accepted it, just saying)

I literally said I was making a counter-suggestion on one of the comments lol

Not one of your unsolds are even a day old, just saying.

He implied that they get snatched up quickly. I think 6 is good right now but could change soon.

Well obviously, just stating that his quicksells weren't very good for future references.

                  L1: Has an add.

                  L2: Raised to +3ref

                  L3: Offered 6 keys

Suggestions are made for 1 purpose and 1 purpose only - to present proof and to have a discussion about the value of an item. That's it. Putting lots of unnecessary comments is what makes moderating so difficult because we go through and have to read every single comment. And when half the comments are useless, it just wastes time and sometimes results in things getting overlooked.

We encourage people to speak their mind and have designed the forums specifically for that purpose. That is the appropriate place to voice your feelings and to call people out. NOT here. Reading 50 comments here that had nothing to do with the accuracy of this suggestion just wasted the time of anyone reading this suggestion.
