The list here http://www.tf2pricecheck.net/Thread-GUIDE-Unusual-Effect-Tiers-v%E2%88%9E-Recently-Updated shows that Steaming is around the same value range as Nuts & Bolts. Since it is a bit lower tier effect (By a small bit), Nuts & Bolts should be 1 bud instead of 1.1 which the steaming one is.

The proof is not looking so good, maybe if you just post a trade for the unusual and wait for offers?... Your unusual does have some history which you can use as proof for what it was sold for. Must really want buds....
