Suggestion: Earbuds at 17–17.5 keys

"You shouldn't base most of your proof off of the Classifieds. Since there the lower price for the same item is listed first, people can list 17.99 keys, and never see the people selling for 18 keys. 18 keys is still possible and shouldn't be taken out of range, as you can see by my recent transactions"

99% of the proof provided is from sources other than backpack.tf that was just the easiest way to show the ammount of unsolds at 18.

Then riddle me this:

If there are several unsolds for 18 keys on the Classified, how did I sell mine within 2 days on Outpost?

There's always a few outliers. The vast majority of sales are occurring in the 17-17.5 range.

Currency on the low end of a range is supposed to move quickly, if anything this shows the availability of buds at 17 keys is quite large and that 18 keys is not very viable.Furthermore, most of those were listed before any suggestions for lowing the price were made, with an 18 flat range 17 keys would look like a deal to most people. But thanks for the additional proof of 17 key sales.

Well there's over 100 links in the 17-17.5 range provided and at least a full page of sellers in the classifieds at any given time in this range. So either there are a ton of people "quickselling" or there's a new market trend.

cooldown rules are:

1 week if dropping from 18 to 17.5-18 (quarter of a key drop)

3 days if dropping from 18 to 17-18 (half a key drop)

enough time has passed to make it 17-18, and he is dropping it even more so it would be allowed anytime.

17 keys is closed trades.. proof some opens and unsolds for 18.

When you remove 18 keys from the range you should always give proof that 18 keys is not possible anymore. It might be 17-18.

Make buds 1 key and move on, we need to start looking for something stable to price our unusuals on. Keys shouldn't be priced by refs too, such a useless currency refs are.

"Useless currency" The whole point of a currency is to be an item you can do few things with that are used for transactions. You can't "do" anything with a dollar other than buy and sell other things using it. Sure, you can craft some items or maybe even a hat with metal, but hardly anyone uses 3 ref crafting when you can get an easy 2.44 craft with the genuine hats. The most common use for weapons and metal as far as I see would be weapon crafting to get a Blade or AWP. And what difference would it make if we used Bill's Hats instead of Earbuds? Prices would switch and continue dropping and rising as they normally would.

If 'hardly anyone' uses metal to craft, why do we have:

Problem is, people DO use it, or remove it through other means, since the key/ref ratio has been going down since november '11. Either way it's offtopic so I'll cut this tangent off but don't believe hearsay of 'oh, nobody does this' or 'everyone that'

Actually most price suggestions based on buds have a system implemented to move with the price of buds

I.E. an unusual priced 3 buds a month ago could be worth 4-5 on the pricing list (figuratively)

i guarantee that 16 won't be the lowest ever... people are going to continue to sell for a key or 0.5 keys under the low end price of buds on this site, and then those sales are going to be used as proof to make the price lower and lower. They are going to keep going down way past 16 keys my friend

I will quote you on that. This is not the same as the rise of keys. It will stop dropping once people stop selling them for below range. Considering Buds are a very popular accessory and a sign of wealth I myself doubt they will drop much lower, but that depends on how many people are in desperate need of pure keys. I have never been very desperate, so naturally I may have a different perspective, but "guaranteeing" something like this is foolish.

that's about as stupid as saying "I can't wait for gold to be worth less than a dollar"..2 different currencies, even though the value of one is traditionally measured in the other it doesn't mean the value of the rarer currency will ever drop below the common currency even if there may be strong fluctuations at times

Vincent already posted in the other suggestions that ranges have to be either full keys or .5 keys meaning 17.1-17.5 can't be suggested (inaccurate anyways with the amount of sales at 17 flat).

there's around 100 sellers at 17 keys in the past few days alone this even excludes most of the trades on backpack.tf. Hardly seems rare at all.
