I'm back with more proof (and highly requested...a suggestion in keys!)

1.2 = 7.33,

1.1 = 6.66,

Let's take a look at the classifieds.

2 at 7, 2 at 7.11, ranging 8 hours - 4 days, possible quicksells

Some trades @ or around 1.1 (6.66):

I'm just going to stop with the quicksells right here. I have never seen this many quicksells on an item. Selling @ 1.2 unpainted is no longer possible*. I think...I think we might have to let the quicksells win. Before I am eaten by quicksell zombies, I want to thank you for reading this.

In all seriousness though, these quicksells are taking longer to sell and getting more popular. These are becoming quicksells that literally do reflect the economy.

*When I say 1.2, I mean 1.2. There are plenty of sellers @ 7.11 (1.16), but the 2 scrap difference makes the item dramatically difference in ease of selling.

Thanks :)

Your quick sales at 1 keys show that the current range is fine...

Your sold times are not sold times. They're how long ago the trade was posted.

I had like 40+ of em, started selling em few days ago for 1 key 1 ref each and I have no problem selling them and getting tons of offers on them, this should not go down. xmas is coming and demand is rising.

          Quick-sells = Not valid proof

All of your 1.1 keys have sold, accept for a few poorly bumped ones

          Downvote. Thanks for rep.

I'm trading a lot with Mufflers and 1 key is a quicksell. They are bought instantly.

It's not possible to sell at 1.2 (1.16) you say? Yeah...Not really.

          http://imgur.com/a/CQobN <--- I sold 5 in one day for 1.16 keys (7.11 ref)

Sorry for the German names. Here's the German wiki page of the Merc's http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Merc%27s_Muffler/de

It was a white Bill's + Mercs for 8 keys in the fourth trade.

            See the asterisk :P

95% of the guys and gals on this side take 1.2 as 1 key + 1 ref. They don't like correct math here. You can add any of the guys who put it up for 1.2 keys to your friends list and just put 1 key + 1 ref in the trade window and they will accept.

That's the reason why your suggestion is pointless. I'm on your side though. 1.2 is not 1.16!

Extremely good point...but some people on the classifieds in their descriptions for the 1.2 key classifieds will indeed say 7.33 ref, some will say 7.11, but taking the ones lacking descriptions literally, but in the classifieds that 2 scrap difference really determines what people are selling it for.

In general, which also happened last suggestion, 1.2 keys is taken as ~1 key 1 ref.

1 key 1 ref might be 1.1667 exactly but that would be stupid to have in a range, so we round it up to 1.2 keys.

your proof shows that 1 key is a quicksell, and shouldnt be in the range.

I skimmed through your links and most are sold at 1 key 1 ref and it doesnt seem to take that long, which even more emphasizes that 1 key is too low.

If you want to have the range perfect you could probbably suggest at 1.166 but i don't think that would be a good idea.

downvote as current range is fine and suggested range too low.

Could you please explain why 1.16 is stupid as a price? I mean...it's the mathematicly correct number and it doesn't even look odd. Everone who knows how to devide by 3 and 2 should know what 0.16 means.

And every new guy on this side will think that 0.2 is 1 ref + 1 rec. Because 0.2 * 6 is not 1 (key). It's 1.2 (keys). There are hughe fights on this side every time someone tries to change the price of ref for 1 cent but no one gives a shit about this stupid rounding.

the question is why shouldn't we round off?

this is a pricing guide, it does not, and is not supposed to be, exact to the very scrap. Most people understand that 1.2 is 1 key 1 ref.

1.2 simply looks alot better and since sales will happen above 1.2 and under 1.2, it doesn't matter if its 1.16 or 1.2 as they would happen above 1.16 and under 1.16 as well.

and if you want it to be 100% correct it should actually be 1.17, as 1 key 1 ref is 1.1666666666666666666666666666666 (and another endless 6's) which would be 1.17 rounded (you have to round eventually anyway...)

I just don't get the "1.2 looks better". If you want to suggest 1 key + 1 ref why would you then name it 1.2 instead of the correct number? It's a mathematical lie and not even correctly rounded. I know that people hate math but saying that a incorrect number looks better than a correct is just stupid for everyone who ever worked with math.

And no..you don't have to round if you understand how dividing by 3 works becaus you then know that there is always a .33333333333 or .666666666 or .9999999.

Well...anyways. Back to the topic. The suggestion is bad because it got it's own counter proof. Nuff said.

I have no problem selling merc's mufflers for 1 key 1 ref, selling average of 4 per day and getting tons of items offers.

WTF is this suggestion, your own proof shows that 1 key is quicksell then 1 key don't need be in the range,

1 key is a quicksale, managed to sell a few of them for 1 key 1.33 ref in the last 2 weeks

A few is not enough. The middle of the current range should be able to rack up sales and it can't. That's why I think this item should go down.

sold yesteday one for 1.2,sold one on the 4th of nov,if i dig deeper on my history i'll find even more proof. can provide screenshots if needed

                    Here's what I found

                    1 key

                    http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15564439 - sold w/o bumping

                    http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15560933 - sold w/o bumping

                    quicksells I'm afraid.

Now naturally if you're suggesting for 1 key, it must be easy to find one for a key. Here's what I found in the first page. (filtered out irrelevant trades.)

                    None listed for 1 key.

As shown, 1 key is a quicksell
