The first time I've actually seen this hat :)

Had a look through Trade.tf as well - not exactly sure what should be done; confusing data- a couple of unpainted hats sold at 4 Ref; unsold hats at below 4 Ref, painted hats unsold at 3.33 Ref and 4 Ref.

Having considered that and the logical data you've presented, seems like a good suggestion as the price should definitely go down, for this seemingly overvalued hat

Tricky data on the market - but presented really well, must have took a while to gather that, and go through the posts :) Good range as the current price is still included and also acknowledging that willing / potential buyers exist at lower price points

Just saying, the 4 ref panted unsolds on trade.tf are all from the same guy.

Just one is a painted unsold 3.33...

There is 1!! Only 1 seller for 3 ref. How is that supposed to justify a 3 ref bottom price? A better price MIGHT be 3.66-4 if it should change at all...

Not to mention your 2.88 "seller" doesn't even have the hat and wants to start a "revolution".

There aren't loads of Vintage Hats, and most of them are ""ULTRARARE"" cause of their levels. As you can see, it's almost impossible to sell for 4 ref. Look at the unsolds. So many unsolds. Even the ones selling for less than 4 ref are getting nothing.

There are 15,553 vintage Engineer caps...

And those "ultrarare" ones are most likely levels 1,42,69,99, and 100 which means about 5% of the 15,533 vintage Engineer caps. In the English language, "most" does not mean 5%. The only "ULTRARARE" level could be 0. With 5 pages on outpost, you have 7 total links to 4 ref unpainted unsolds. If you have experience with vintage hats, you know that they take a while to sell, regardless of their price. Now I know 2 weeks-2 months is a long time to lets count those as the unsolds. A week is about how long it takes for me to sell a vintage hat, usually for a rec lower than the backpack.tf price. So if we remove the trades too early to be called unsolds, you have 5 unsolds for 4 refined. I'm not saying that the price should not be lowered, I just don't think it should be lowered to 3-4 ref.

When referring if the hat is "rare" or not, i believe he is talking about the limited amount on the market, there are currently 5 pages on outpost, if you take out the sets the special levels (worth a lot more on vintages) you're normally not left with a lot of open trades.

The 3 ref sellers sold, and it wasn't a quicksale. So 3 ref is possible.

I agree, over and over again I've seen this devaluing of items and it causes people to hoard this item then the price goes back up benefiting the hoarders and messing up the economy, thats the only reason spreadsheets were used in the first place. total corruption is all it is...

I don't mean it like that...I mean it like he has only one trade that sold for 3 refined...and unsolds at higher than 3 refined does not mean that it's worth less. If I sell a v. fan o war for 2.2 buds and I get no offers, that doesn't mean it's worth 2 buds. That's what I'm trying to get at and that's the reason why I'm downvoting as there is literally one trade of proof and the rest of the trades don't support it

EDIT: a simpler way to say this is that it's too big of a change. It should be a smaller change than 3-4 ref.

To me, it is just less work for the next guy who will try to make this hat go down.
