Since my last refined metal suggestion passed a few weeks ago, I've been trying to do it again, but for a while the proof about was very much pathetic, time went past and there is now enough to work with, source-op, outpost and bazaar users have started to sell at different prices and I'm going to try another suggestion, this time though it is to change the lower range.

I think there is enough proof to make 0.31 USD the bottom range, a lot more people are at that price and people are more willing to pay that price now, I've seen 0.30 USD around but their stock is always very limited 9or at least the ones I saw) So I am assuming that 0.30 is a rather cheap price.

I was also going to consider 0.33 USD becoming the new higher range but 0.31USD and 0.32 USD has dominated the others and 0.33 USD is one I'm still not sure that many people are paying for. I even listed most of the 0.33 trades as just a possibility.

Again like last time, trades with prices outside of the discussed range is only for future reference as that is very useful, not just for me but for others too.

And a note to the mods and pricing experts watching this suggestion.

If I am doing anything wrong please feel free to call me out on it, its the only way things can improve.

The traders requirements are quite a bit 6 years old account being one of the rules that really stand out, probably why it has poor sales.

I kinda made the range a bit much as well so I guess this will be good for closing that large range.

I will also say one more thing,

If metal goes up, keys will not drop because of it.

Its all to do with supply and demand, a item with good demand will be going up and more people will supply it hence why you see so much proof in key suggestions. These things are not effected by the other so please take note of that and save those comments like last time, so many of them...

actually, if you do some math, 6.22 ref currently is only worth about $2, you can buy a key in the mann co store for $2.50, i think that refined metal needs a larger bump up than this

although the math is good to back that it will only be able to depend on the market, sales and demand come in to play in this as proof is one of the most important things we need to focus on.

Looks good to me at the moment, but you best supply more proof because it's such a common item and of course, a currency essentially.

Like the above, I am getting more proof as time goes on, don't forget that while it may be a currency, there is actually not many who do sell it for real world cash, its mainly to buy in game items and keys.

I will be happy to add you and explain how it works, also with your proof you need to make sure that there are some that took a while to sell, not very fast.

Any trade more than 1 month old is not valid proof for two reasons

(1) You cannot tell when the last time they sold for and at what price

(2) These sellers constantly change their selling price. Just because it is listed today at .32 doesn't mean the add 2-3 weeks ago was a sale at .32.

A lot of the proof presented is not valid.

Honestly, guys, does it really matter? It's like a one-cent difference.

Have you checked the other ref suggestions that pass. almost all are 1 cent differences.

The Mann Co. supply crate keys wanna say "Hi!".

If someone has a high amount of refined metal, it will greatly effect their wealth. And also if you are buying in bulk 1 cent could be converted into $1.

Unrelated question, but is Valve trying to reduce metal with these Chemistry sets?

I won't be surprised if this Chirstmas the festives are Chem Sets that can be applied to regular weapons to make the third generation festives

Then lose out on the massive key profits, I doubt it to be honest mate. VALVe may be a nice company but they all need money and festive keys is one of their most profitable items (except for regular keys of course)

I think I'll give this an upvote. While your proof is a bit underwhelming, it is still proof and most of the counterproofs I've seen here are invalid.

This is a currency (as I said before) firstly you need a <edit: bad word> ton of proof to support it, because "just one cent" can rock the whole economy boosting or lowering bp prices because some people care about that (obviously not you).

It's one cent. A penny. If you had a hundred ref, your bp is now worth a dollar more. And don't go telling me that people profit in real life money from TF2, because you could make more money doing literally anything. Think about it. If I mowed someone's lawn, I would probably make 15-20 dollars, which I could use to buy about 60 ref.

I'm not saying that. Its just that this is ->CURRENCY<- and a very common item. Lots of people have it. You ->BUY<- stuff with it.

With your ~~experience~~ longevity I would have though you to be more understanding.

It's not a requirement, it's for people to confirm they're trading with the legitimate person.

But remember, for each link, there may be many sales. People sell to many different people, not just in one link, like they only had one. These people have lots of refined, and often have a [sold = ] thing in their trade. I do think this reflects market value.

One to watch over for a little while, possibly sold but I can't confirm that yet. on my watch list for now

I wouldn't consider any of this proof, just experience, but I've sold a bit of metal in the past week at $0.30 plus fees, and the buyers seemed very happy about that price.

Also, I've recently sold keys at 2.00, as have others. If keys can sell for $1.95 or $2 flat, and keys are 6.11-6.22 refined, use a bit of math and that would imply a refined should be about $0.32.

Again, no proof in this comment, but a USD price increase for refined is completely expected to follow a USD price increase for keys.

Also, if I sell any more metal for >$0.30, I'll be sure to screenshot it and give you teh proofz. :3
