Just bought a Lantern chapeau with a SBTWC Medic's Mtn. Cap. The Cap got offers of 6-8 regularly (http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15720158).

I support this price range. Well evidenced.

Why is 6 an outlier but not 8?

Because I bought this hat and I want its value to go up, damn it.

That being said, it looks like the guy was a bit rushed... read the full dialog of Link #3, between Makuasia & My Dad - it looks like they went back an forth on the issue for an hour, then " I really need this so i think im going to say yes i can 1:1 :\ " and a baby happened. (IMO the guy either really wanted a PE Phantom to use it OR to quicksell it for buds easier).

Yeah, but the problem is I'm not seeing any offers >7. I don't see how it's fair to call 6 an outlier and not 8. Range should probably be 6.3-7.

Offers on an outpost trade aren't the only means of knowing an unusual's price, my previous hat being a perfect example of this - http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15720158 - all the >5 offers being screencaps of trade server negotiations. Eraser brought up actual trades done >7, such as the Charmer's & 2 buds for 2 unusuals combo.

We can only go by documented proof. It doesn't matter where its from. If you or ERASER can provide proof of offers >7 from any where (screenies, bazaar, tf2tp, etc) it will significantly bolster this suggestion.
