Not really sure to drop it to 2.2 buds yet since lvl 1 getting higher offers to.
Dunno how lvls 1 and 7 are specials
Those levels got duped more commonly than the other levels
Yeah but it exists clean lvls 1 and 7 I suppose ._.
For sure they exist. but many traders (that I have noticed) will say "no lvl 1s or 7s" or will pay less for them
Paranoia, my friend. People like playing it safe C:
that's just a silly excuse to not check history
the item history does not show it, because people who got dupes asked valve to wipe the history. Basically, assigned a new item ID to it.
why does in that case anyone care.there is no difference between a duped and non-duped
Because when they actually want to sell it, the buyers won't pay as much for a level 1 or 7. It's a cycle, and this is ingrained into the market. If you check the stats for max, you'll see there are 15x as many level 1s as any other level. Most of them were duped, and then had history wiped (so bp.tf thinks they're not duped and counts them all)
they're very rare.
How is that true for level 7? It's less common than many levels.
Bp.tf stats do not count dupes as multiple items. Each duplicated item is counted only once in the stats.
I dunno, I've been buying and selling Max's heads for a long time. I've still never come across a level 7. Just my luck I guess. There are over 1000 level 1s in the stats and every second one I bought was level 1.
It's based on blind paranoia. There was indeed a time where an exploit led to a pair of traders duping a level 7 Max Head, but it's been so long that you're as likely to encounter one as a dupe as any other random level on the market. Level 1s are in large numbers, but that's due to an abuse of Telltale Sam & Max Season 3 pre-order codes. It eventually started spitting out only level 1s instead of random levels, which is why there are so many more. There'd be more duped than other levels just because there's more in general, but on a percentage basis you wouldn't expect there to be a bigger ratio than other levels.
Also consider that, like buds and bills, traders won't check to see if Max Heads are actually duped. It's all about the level, with 'heavily duped' being little more than lipservice. What it comes down to is that level 1 and level 7 are treated as worth less because level 1 and level 7 are being treated as worth less. It unforunately IS so prevalent that it must be taken into consideration in max head suggestions here.
upvote my friend bought one for 2 buds in 2 days
Again some of them are duped

I dont know, might need more proof of solds and unsolds, some links are badly bumped and some are sold. My poor maxes :<
Agreed. the proof is quite disorganized, and some links are invalid, such as quicksells at lower prices, or offers on people's trades. These cannot be used to lower the price.
Maxes are a currency, needs double the proof
Maxes are promos, not currency. What you said is like saying a Bill's are currency, which they aren't.
@.rum. Many people on Outpost are selling in a set, using as sweets for an unusual trade, asking for offers, or have holloween painted Max's
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15905386 - Selling for 2.3
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13914050 - pretty much asking 2.2 buds (42 keys)
@(13). He isnt using the quicksell trade to lower the price, and he doesn't only have offers, he has solds.
Second link is a lvl 1 max though.
Got some more links on my closed suggestion from some Tuesday you might want to check out: http://backpack.tf/vote/id/528b6d524cd7b811748b456b
This isn't valid proof imo, most people don't follow the earbud prices which changed like what, a day or 2 ago?
Their prices are from buds being at 16 keys or so.
Downvote.
Seconded.
