yesterday someone wanted to trade me for my virus doctor and offered a strange huo long, enforcer and backup, and said "it's a good deal because it took you 1 key to uncrate whereas these took 3 keys, profit for you"

It takes about 2 Keys and a random drop to make, so I guess those random drops are really expensive. Sadly, I think this price is right, at least for now. I expect them to drop at least below a bud in a month or two though.

These random drops are extremely rare, about 3 weeks after the update there's only ~1-2 (or 3 in a few cases) of each of the items (if existing at all, there's several yet to drop), let alone collector's hats. Chem sets go for a bud at the cheapest, and that's for the crappiest weps (claidheamh mór, boston basher, fists of steel, etc.)

I don't doubt that they're rare, but I still think they'll drop in price. I see trades at 4 Buds B/O and no offers because everyone knows thats insane. The only trade I know of for a Chem Set was 15 keys for the Caber chem set, and the caber is a pretty nice weapon.

Some rumors floating around like:

This seems hard to believe, but I've seen it thrown around a lot.

There are quite a few collector's items with 3 completed ones for sale on OP, and assuming that all the Chem sets for these item have been used immediately and then the item was put on OP seems silly.

Although I guess the real question is, why does valve feel the need to add so many nice new items so quickly? Have you seen those Austrialium weapons? They're sexy as hell.

I don't see how that is relevant to me commenting about how I think that it's hard to believe that only 3 Chem Sets per wep have been dropped.

One of the Caber sets went for 15 Keys. I don't know which minigun you're referring to, but since most heavies use the default, I think it's safe to say that the caber is used more.

There seems to be no "bad weps go for 10 keys, good ones go for 2 buds" kind of organization here. People just randomly set prices it seems, imo.
