Im using my own purchase of this item as a suggestion.
The one and only trade for this item, its 1/1:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15571166 (BO 4 buds)
I bought it for 3 buds + sweets = s.f mackerel (4 keys) + 1 key = Total of 3.2 buds.
At this time 1 bud = 20 keys.
Screenshots of the trade:

Based on this information would it be fair to put this item on a price range of 3 - 3.5 buds?
One sale, sorry, but downvote from me. :P
just because you pay 3+ buds, doesn't mean others will. By your definition, tis hat is better than a scorching one.
Ok thx for the info.
Then this item will never get a approximate value.
Also yes I value it more than my scorching but ye thats only me.
Only if one were unbox or you sold yours. Sorry buddy, thats how things work c;
an item needs at least (EDIT) 2 trades to be prices. sorry, those are the rules
Actually it only needs 2 sales.
oh, aight. im not really into unusual suggestions. still against the rules tho (only one trade here)
Thanks for the suggestion, but all suggestions establishing a range on a new hat require two sales to establish the range. If there has been only one sale, you will need to wait for a second one. http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/3306-new-rule-regarding-unusual-suggestions-two-sales-rule/
Ok then I know.
Just thought it would be better than having no value at all seeing that I wont be selling it.
But ye thx for the info.
We can make exceptions in certain situations. If you really don't intend to sell it. I would suggest putting it back on the market in a month to assess offers. If you get offers supporting ~3, then I think it could be reasonable to price based on one sale. The reason the rule was made was to prevent pricing based on outliers. No way to tell what is an outlier based on one sale. If you give it some time and can show offers close to what you paid, it would be reasonable.
Please close this for the time being.
Cool.
We will see how things go but I probably wont be taking any offers any time soon.
So I guess we will just keep it as it is...
