how can you tell if an item is duped

why dislike? I was asking, so I will know what to look for so I wont get caught up in something.

It's really simple actually. :) I will try to explain it. First check the item history and see the last person who has it. In this case that would be {Jehovah's Witness}MarkArPolo. Then from Outpost check his Steam ID. Then put the numbers here on Bp.tf search bar and you see his bp.tf profile. From there check his bp and you will find the collector's red tape-recorder and when you hit "View Item History" bp.tf tells you "Warning! This item appears to have been duped." This means it's duped. I hope I helped you. ^^

ok, so I just bought one of the collector's red-tape recorders in question. How do i know if I have the original or the dupe?

Then you go the backpack,tf and look at there inventory if it says origin trade, it is duped, origin unbox it is the original

Just to tell you original or dupe doesn't matter. They're both duped.

There are still ways to dupe things? Yikes.

After accounts get phished Customer Support replaces your stolen items by giving you new items(they have the same item id so it is considered duped), but the original one is still out there

That has been up for a looooooong time on the market. There are also at least one of the sets for around that price. I feel like the 30 keys if much more of a fluke (might want to check is the offer still stands).

Either way, the fact that multiple are selling for the equiv of 20 or less makes 1.6 seem high.

How the hell do you dupe it? I thought they fixed duping?

When you're hijacked, steam support will give you a second copy of items you lost and not deleting the original, duping them in the process.

Hmm, i didn't know it still worked that way.. well there goes another bunch of dupes.

how do you even get collector weapons

find/buy a chem set for the weapon and you need 200 unique versions of the weapon and craft them altogether

nothing here shows any proof higher than 15 keys . even that 1.6 still high

And that is probably why the suggestion is still up. There is definitely not enough proof to justify the range.

Anyway The proof is satisfying so I will support.

1.6 is an outlier, with several sales under that.

Wow already a dupe. Funny how accounts still get hacked with steam guard. But I guess someone can just claim he sold it for cash and never got the cash. Anyway, surprising to see such a recent dupe.

Read the rules.

1st Link: INVALID due to being duplicated.

2nd Link: INVALID because offers don't equal sales.

3rd Link: INVALID because buyouts don't equal sales.

4th Link: INVALID. I don't know what prices from who knows when you're using. Using current prices, 1 Bill's Hat is 6 keys. 6 x 2 = 12 + 3 is 15. Buds are not 15 keys. Simple math, stop trying to squeeze that in the range. Come on.

5th Link: INVALID because of no offers and isn't even a sale.

Come on Pyroman, you can do so much better. DOWNVOTE.

P.S. At least one of them which is the stem of the dupe does not count as well, because it's still a dupe, so at least one of them alongside the dupe is double invalid.
