Misty Jefe = 9 buds
Conclusion
Got 3 sales, updating this 6 months old price. Vote accordingly.
Help / Constructive Criticism / Additional Proof / Counter-Proof is ALWAYS welcome! >;3
Probably best to readjust bud price a bit to due inflation.
Sucks that I just bought one tho, lol
Antifreeze Grimm + Burning Ketche at current rates is 13.9 buds, factoring in overpay is about 12.5
Misty Jefe is also 11.6 buds, with overpay is about 10.5
The rack is an outlier, as current trades for the hotrod have gotten quickbuyer cash offers is 8-10 buds.
Although this suggestion isn't too bad, would need at least bud price readjustment.
http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/4350-new-rule-use-original-suggested-values-of-unusuals/
You dont use current rates you silly numnut :3 Read that rule my friend.
Why does backpack.tf auto inflate its unusuals then :c
Still tho, kinda sucks that new prices is based off of old bud rates, causing a really big uneccesary drop sometimes :\
A fix is expected to come, but it's unknown when xD I guess we're all waiting for Brad
Well shouldnt they implement both policies at once?
Implementing this new bud price policy while inflation is still in effect on the site is quite unfair to those people who get their unusuals bumped down so much at once.
Well if you look at it that way, if your suggestion was given and accepted right after the sales happened, the hotrod would be 10.5-12.5 buds in unusuals as it should be relative to other unusuals, rather than so much lower :c
And then when Brad fixes the site, ALL the unusuals may be adjusted at once, to retain fairness of prices relative to each other, instead of certain unusuals who have their price changed in that time period getting bumped down so much more.
I got no control about what happens. If I dont follow the rules, this will get closed xD Talk to the mods/admins about it if you wish, Im sure they'll be happy to discuss the many issues of the TF2 economy :3
Checked that out and absolutely no one is following that rule XD
Everyone is following that rule. Show me those who are not if there are any.
With current bud price I think 10.5-12.5 would be a more fair range.
Well looking at this, the original price used were the prices from the last time the unusual was updated, and not when it was sold either. For example the Ketche price was from last April, when buds were MUCH higher than they are now, and the Grimm and Jefe from August, when buds were still significantly higher. This puts an even greater gap between the pricing system and the actual value of the unusuals. For example, the jefe got offered 2 weeks ago a miami drills, scorching raincatcher, 8 keys and a festive huntsman, which according to backpack.tf is 12-13 buds, and not 10. Clearly the original prices in keys would reflect better than the original prices in buds, as the influx of buds, especially with outdated values from 4-8 months would significantly alter the value of the unusual which it does not deserve. I would like to once again emphasize how using this policy, ESPECIALLY without the function for dated prices (the price for that date reflects upon the date it was suggested and not the current price, in buds, which is inaccurate) can be potentially very inaccurate in terms of keys and raw value and cause something such as this. For example the currect price of 11.6 for the Jefe reflects better than the 10 average it was given on the original suggestion relative to other unusuals, showing how flawed the new policy is, and the lack of date and history features on this site. Sorry for the spam, I don't want my backpack to undeservedly drop 2.5 buds :_:
We all know how much influence this site has on the pricing of unusuals. and it wouldn't be too fair if the new "fix policy" only applied to certain users, and can potentially heavily set back their hat value relative to other hats, especially with the lack of features to support the new policy, its not a good idea. Hopefully Brad can rebalance the system to prevent biased price drops from happening :C
Technically, I could also use my very recent sale of a Roboactive Tribonophous Tyrannus + about 2 keys in sweets for the hotrod + a BMOC, The price of the slug at the time of sale is 14 buds, and 10.7 buds back in June, which is an invalid price to use now. If you factor in reverse overpay (as he offered on my hat) it would technically be a sale for about 15 buds. Just sayin. Even with the invalid original prices, it would be 11.5~ with overpay
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/16237122
There is no reverse overpay. And as shen said that sale is around the high end.
Eugh, well, Im kinda lost. Whaddafuq should I do with this suggestion? Is it fine or should I resuggest? Idk dawg xD
I haven't searched for more sales, but it seems there are more. Try to find more, list them properly and choose which range seems best. And as I said below, I would not include the rack sale (at 8.2 buds).
This is all I found when I tried >.> So 9-9.8, or...?
Well seems like a mod have to take a deeper look into it then...
*cough cough* Bear *cough cough* So just leave for him for now, I guess?
Well I'm too busy to look for more atm. :S
Also, sold for scorching AA

Tracing history.
http://backpack.tf/stats/445/5/14 - scorching AA is 8.5-9, although it is a very old price.

Both BOs is 10 buds, so it probably isn't worth much more than this.
Your purchase of this with a roboactive brain slug looks like an outlier, on the high end.
The rack does seem a bit lower than the other sales...
Just a question, if this gets accepted, and buds reinflate, could the same proof be used to restore it back to this bud value, and therefore increase the key value again?
You need new proof for new suggestions.
Alright so for this price suggestion, if the admins insist on using old prices, then I guess it has to be ;\
However the price range does need some re-adjustment.
Admin says my sale should be an outlier as its too high, so the sale of the Burning Rack should also be eliminated as its rather low.
Also, overpay should not be applied to the Jefe as it is unclear which side made the offering, which makes the overpay factor applicable to either side, and therefore eliminating the overpay factor, which the minimum range should still be kept at at least 9.8 buds if not higher. :3
Because thats essentially what we're doing now right? Attaching a linear relationship between bud prices and unusual prices. Which sort of defeats the automatic inflation the site creates on default.
The "automatic inflation" technically shouldn't happen. USD prices for things remain relatively stable, and if buds sell for a constant price, then whatever the sale at the time is, the price should remain as such.
Hm, so supposedly all unusuals are overinflated in terms of bud prices, but not relative to each other, which I agree with.
Thing is we're taking the new approach and "fixing" the unusuals 1 by 1 which hits those being changed pretty hard.
Which would cause alot of pricing chaos while we're still in the process of reverting the prices back to the correct bud amount, and also certain unusuals who do not have enough sales to alter the price would remain inflated and be misleading.
The voting system we are using as of now is good for pricing unusuals in bud price RELATIVE TO EACH OTHER, but not in terms of buds to unusuals ratio. It would be ideal if we corrected everything at once, but since we're doing this one by one, wouldn't it really hurt those unusuals that got lowered first as opposed to later, if at all?
Still tho, the logic that a hat retains its inflated price, but counts for its post bud inflation price when used as proof for the price of other unusuals is rather flawed.
Well I'm very certain you get 9 buds easily for the rack, so this wasn't a bad deal imo. Rack is constantly raising in price since months.
I would value that sale at 9 buds personally or call it an outlier for 8.2 buds.
Mkay. So 9-9.8? >.>
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15748367 - sold for miami nights cannonball and added close to a bud = ~11.4 buds (outlier), price for the cannonball might be too high
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15701158 - sold for planets boa + electrostatic aa + small sweets = ~9.4 buds, price for the aa (3 buds) is 6 months old though
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13108333 - sold for 224$ = ~7 buds, cahsing out/outlier
resuggest at 9-9.8 buds, yeah
PS: Two other sales I found where hotrod + of phantom (2) for db phantom (11) but that was used to price the phantom. And sulph tower + hotrod for poisoned shadows boa (no idea 20-30?) to the unboxer. obvious high outlier.
