Suggestion: Mann Co. Supply Crate Key at 6.44–6.55 ref

Reason for 6.44 to stay is it is selling much more frequently than 6.33, which makes 6.33 to go. Including 6.55 is because people is starting to buy at that price.

I agree with you. 6.55 is a bit too soon IMO, a flat price of 6.44 would be better. Regarding the last statement, it's actually the other way around. Everytime keys go up people downvote, just look at the previous suggestions.

I also think there were a few suggestions where the majority said to downvote by about 4 percent, but they still passed for whatever reason.

Can't comprehend that when key prices raise from 6.22-6.33 to 6.33-6.44, 6.33 (almost) is impossible to buy at.

When keys go up, people sell for a scrap more than the high-end, and are successful, becasue there's a high supply of metal and a very high demand for keys. I just wish people stopped raising their prices to get a scrap profit, because in the end, they raise more than 4 refined...And I own 283 :p

They go up because they're a currency. If you have the option to buy one dollar [key] with either 80 cents [metal] or 100 cents, and still get the same result, you'd obviously take the 80.

Now there's those people out there who don't mind paying 110 cents for a dollar because they trade for profit, and want the dollar more than their cents. When enough people start paying 100 to 110 cents for the dollar, then we adjust the dollar's value to reflect this change.

it's more like whether you'll trade 1000 yen for a dollar or 900 or 1100 yen for a dollar. All while there are many milllions of yen printed all the time and relatively fewer dollars (just as an example keys = dollars and metal=yen in the example)

99% the people don't look at the price they are buying for 6.33 and selling for 6.44 or higher to make profit... if the price goes up their price goes up too...

I mean that as in if keys were to suddenly reset to 2.66 today. The demand is high enough that people would buy up to what the price is right now.

If refined metal remains at 30 cents (using 30 for simplicity's sake), then keys can go as high as 8 refined, at which it would be wiser to buy from the Mann Co. Store than with refined metal. Of course, that won't happen for a while and a lot can happen in that while. (For example, metal can raise or fall, changing the value in metal keys would have to be at for it to be more expensive than the Mann Co. Store.)

Scrap.tf has no keys when buying @ 6.33 and selling @ 6.55. Might want to point that out as well. ;)

The governing factor here is the price of keys, not the price of refined.

And, besides, the PayPal market may not be 100% safe nor 100% easy to use. The Mann Co. Store, again, on the other hand, is as simple as add to cart, checkout, and authorize. No need to worry about rep, chargebacks, or scammers.

You are a confused soul, I can give you that. On one hand you ask to assume metal @30 cents, and you then compare it with keys @ $ 2.49 on valve store. This is not how it works. You have to weigh both , metal and keys, in the same category. If you are going to consider the refined value in paypal market then you have to do the same for keys.

Valve does not sell refined metal for money, neither do they allow the same on market. On steam market keys are available for $2.40, it is same as buying from mann. co store itself. So if you still wish to buy keys from store@ $ 2.49, that would be lame.

Technically, refined would have to go down if keys were to go up anymore than this due to the $2.50 price cap on the Mann Co. Store. If keys went over with refined not going down, keys in the free market would be more than the preset Valve priced ones, and then no one would sell keys again because anyone'd be making profit from buying keys cheaper from the store.

Explain how this is considered "trolling." You realize that as long as the proof is recent it can be used right, doesn't matter if it's from before this suggestion...I'm still buying easily at 6.44. Roller needs more at 6.55, and I think 6.44 flat would be best since it is rather hard to purchase keys for 6.33 now.

Also, does it matter that it's all me? That just shows a single person is easily buying keys at 6.44.

Although it was a mistake putting in 6.33 since it's not possible for me to buy at that now, so it's irrelevant. Mainly put the 6.33 up to show it was easy to buy at that before d0's suggestion got accepted. However the 6.44 is all recent and can be used as counter.

Have yet to see any sell for 6.44/6.55 on the trading servers I frequent, so downvote from me.

How many people are in a trade server? The Most is 30 people. And Out of 30 people, how many people are wealthy? Most wealthy people don't even play tf2. You can't only judge on a suggestion from trade servers.

I go on about 10 different trade servers a day with roughly 24 players.

10*24=240

So yes, you can judge from trade servers.

Playing TF2 does not exclusively mean trading servers.

And the term wealthy is subjective.

Half of the people actually "play" TF2 are traders, which does not even go to trade servers. As One of our Mods as an Example. Michael Puddington. He has an 400+ Buds backpack. He Re-sells tons of stuff, including keys. However, I had never saw him playing on Trade Servers.

I played with Michael on Dustbowl the other day but I believe you are correct about trade servers.

Also this good sir missed me buying keys just a few days ago off of the skial trade servers at 6.44.

People in trade servers don't specifically sell keys only, And also, how many hours do you spend on a trade server? What if ppl trade keys at 6.44-6.55 after you left the server? Show counterproof that 6.33 is still possible.

Because I server jump at different hours of the day.

I never stated the only sell keys, but when they come in asking for more than 6.33, they never sell a single key, even though they're there for about an hour or so.

the persons who could actually stop this nonsense from perpetuating chose not to, going with the same old crap about it being "a reflection of the market's prices" while the system itself is what encourages people to raise their prices in the first place.

I really wish you made it 6.55-6.66, TODs are finding no trouble selling at 3.33 and all trades either say "3.33 or 2 for 1 key" clearly stating that half of a key should be 3.33.

thats a bit high of a jump, proof will always show best at upping keys to the next .11 bracket. (6.22-6.33 to 6.33-6.44 to 6.44-6.55, ...)

So does pretty much any other trading site (yes, that includes stuff like tp, tf2deal or tf2market no one uses). While in-game trade servers could in some way be reliable sources, it's not really convinient given that most of the trading happens outside and gathering proof would be quite annoying.

Scrap.tf is also buying and selling for 6.66 refined.

Everyone is buying keys now even though at a higher price because they "think" that the price will go up so they decided to keep it and when the prices go up they resell it. Then you guys will then use those resales as proofs to increase the price of the keys which then the cycle continues.
