http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/16479110 - Sold one before trade closed, one scrap.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/16459664 - sold for 1 scrap
No recent sales for 1 weapon, and a 6 month old price, going for a small bump.
Why do people buy uncraftable weapons when they can get craftable ones for the same price? Silly people.
Because uncraftables are way less common than craftables. The only way to get one is through purchase on the Mann Co Store, as opposed to just finding one.
Why buy a level 42 hat for 1.66 when you can buy a level 38 one for 1.33?
Why buy a level 8 sandvich for 2 buds when you can buy a level 1 sandvich for a scrap?
Why is the Uncraftable Conscientious Objector 3 ref when a Clean one is 2-3 scrap?
Rarity, my dear friend.
No. No. No. Don't charge more cuz a hat is "level 42". Thats stupid. By your logic and like 75% of traders on outpost, my level 9 Baker Boy is now worth 1.66 cuz it has a 1% chance of being level 9. Thats dumb.
So you're calling collectors stupid?
People pay more for special levels because they have a rarity to them.
People also pay more for some uncraftable weapons because they have a rarity to them.
Your level 9 baker's boy is only 1.33 because nothing is special about it. A level 1, 42, 69, 99, or 100 baker's boy would have a greater value to collectors because of their level. If you're not a collector, which apparently you aren't, then it would still be worth 1.33 to you regardless of level. Even if you're not a collector, you should still think like one when it comes to situations like these.
Yes I am a collector actually. I just refuse to pay more than say a scrap more simply because you just happen to have gotten a "level 100 lollichop". Im not gonna pay 3 fucking keys for it. Ill pay a scrap. I might only collect level 54s but does that mean that you should charge 1.66 because "its level 54 and you collect 54s". No. Thats dumb. I understand that some things, like vintage level 0 hats, are worth more because they are so much rarer. But when a normal item has just the same chance of being any level 1-100, I just dont get it.
The thing is that there's a higher demand for those specific levels because of gimmicks :P
Some people don't mind paying that bit extra to get a specific level that they want, and those are the collectors. It's the combination of a gimmick level and a collector that can cause that higher price range for a "special" leveled item.
If i was collecting level 34s or something, i would gladly pay the backpack.tf price or maybe a scrap more if im feeling generous. I just don't get why people think that its worth more. I hate it when people offer their "level 69 lollichop" and say that its worth 2 ref.
Yes, that's the point...since 34 has no gimmick behind it, it's easy to have a collection of them. The other levels have gimmicks behind them, and some people are willing to pay more for those. Although I never see anybody selling a leveled item for more than 1 rec unless it's a glitched level :P
Yea I collect lollichops and a guy wanted 3 keys for his level 99. So yea...
Well that guy obviously does not know how to price his collectors items.
If it was a craft number 99 lollichop, on the other hand, it could possibly go for 3 keys.
Levels on multi-level weapons don't tend to go any higher than a scrap or two but levels on hats or uncraftable versions of some hats and weapons can go much higher than their unique version.
And do note that I said "multi-level" weapons. If my sandvich was level 8, then that sandvich would be worth a lot because sandviches can only be level 1.
Why doesn't anyone know what a joke is nowadays?
Because the "joke" might not have been a joke in the first place. I honestly thought you were serious by the way you wrote that statement.
"Silly people." Obviously serious.
