Just bought one of these and found the price suggested here not to be very accurate/helpful.
I bought mine for 54 keys + O. F. Bucket + sweets, totaling roughly 70 keys taking unusual overpay into account, sweets offered were worth around 4-5 keys total. Here's the trade I bought it from:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/16596632
Then there's this guy:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15993229
Received multiple offers of 3 buds pure and unusual overpay in the same price range, refused offers of 58 and 57 keys pure
He himself bought the hat for 3 buds + blizz bucket. Here's the trade:
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15607130
That particular trade also received an offer of 4 buds pure
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/15687429
Offers of 4 pure and 3 pure, neither taken

More offers on this guy's hat
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/13536014
Tracing back my hat I found this, received offers of 59 keys. Sold for 65 keys in the end.
I do realize that's not a huge amount of proof, but the fact of the matter is, that there haven't been that many of these sold lately.
I've also seen an increase in price for the burning flames variant of this hat, so the brain bucket seems to be definitely gaining at least somewhat in popularity with the higher tier effects.
L1 - ~4.1 buds
L2 - Refused offers of ~3.1...This proves what?
L3 - ~3.9. In current range
L4 - Unsold...still
L5 - Meh. He doesn't seem to want to sell it
L6 - 4 months ago? Buds were 21.5 keys then. That would be ~3 buds
Just on L6 specifically: Unusual prices scale with bud prices, keys are the reference unit imho. I've made my suggestion in keys as well, not in buds. So it doesn't really matter how much buds were 4 months ago, because that's automatically taken care of with keys.
Edit: also on L2: I don't know how you're getting 3.1 from 58 keys, that's 3.3-3.4 last I checked.
How is 3.9 in current range? Its heavily outdated and original prices are 2.7-3.3
Just because you payed over the price suggestion doesn't make it not accurate, if I bought a nuts and bolts dread knot for 200 buds and made a suggestion saying that "It's not very accurate", that wouldn't be very fair, you're basically just trying to raise your bp value
Anyone want to do a counter suggestion on this poor proof?
Cause U can't use 4 month old links its just old

I really do not care about my backpack value or resale value, I'm not a trader. I buy things to own them, not to make profit of them. I've owned most of my unusuals for a year or longer.
I've found that the suggested price range wasn't corresponding to what I've seen in current and recent trades. The upper part of the range might be a stretch, but 3,2 for the low end definitely seem too low to me. I seriously tried to find trades supporting the old price range, but I couldn't find any recent ones.
I've wanted to upgrade my brain bucket for a while now so I've kept a close watch on trades and looked at offers, as I've already said that I do realize it's not the most solid proof, but I do think that at the very least the lower end of the outdated price is not accurate. The high end is absolutely debatable and might need adjustments. I'm new to this, so I'm not sure what exactly high end constitutes.
This is my first price suggestion and I mainly did it because I saw that this price is outdated and I wanted to help people trying to buy this hat in the future out, by giving them a more accurate picture of what prices for this hat are like.
There's a ridiculous amount of people willing to pay 3 buds for this hat, so the low end is definitely a good slice above that, 3,2 just doesn't cut it imho.
