Suggestion: Earbuds at 19–20 keys

Wow I didn't know there was a rule for key/earbuds. Better start reading up on proper voting :3. I remember my first suggestion. (I just wanted it uped in price XD it failed miserably)

no, offense, but it seems like I didn't see enough proof. just saying. I am remaining neutral for now. I thought there was a lot more proof in your other suggestion, but it could be me. can you correct me if im wrong.

This is about the same amount of proof i used for my 19 key suggestion which passed

Yeah, most people don't sell it for less than 19, but 20 shouldn't be in the range; 19-19.5 would be better. There's a guy selling for 18.95 keys, but he probably sold it already. The amount of people who sell it for less than 20 is so big that it's nearly impossible to sell for 20. tf2finance.com also keeps track of how much earbuds sell for and it's at 19.4 right now :/

Deleted all sold ones or the trades with invalid prices. Not only 6 sellers below 20 keys.

There are currently 10 buds listed from 19-20 Keys. A lot of these have already been sold, the listing just remains. So let's say 5 are still up. I checked the classifieds often, never saw one selling for less 19 Keys.

And yet you should realize that 19 Keys is in the range.

Bots are selling for under 20. If people have paid 20 or over in the last week they haven't looked hard enough.

Bots are selling at 19 keys 3-6 ref depending on the bot.

While I can't make a definitive price for that, 19-20 keys is the best way to address it.

Seeing that your account isn't even a year old, I can say that you know bullshit about trading. Especially about earbuds.

"They are too much of an unsteady market." They are always steady. The price doesn't fluctuate that much from late February to October. Then comes Halloween and Christmas with the new unusual effects and new strange festive weapons. Everybody wants them, therefore they need Keys. How do you get masses of Keys in a short amount of time? You sell all your buds and bill's hats for less than the reported price. Since the majority of traders do this, the price will drop. The prices start falling before Halloween and will be at a low level for the time till Christmas is over. Then there are 2 months of recovery.

I saw them drop from 24 keys to 16 in under a month... That's pretty unsteady.

It's actually quite normal. Buds always drop around special events like Halloween, because people want to sell their buds for keys to uncrate, meaning the market gets flooded. After that they recover. You can see that here around Halloween and Christmas 2012 they dropped a bit: http://tf2finance.com/ so 2013 was only an exception in how much they dropped.

Looks like right now they are on the rise again - or rather, recovering from the previous drop in value. If you look long term, their cash value especially has been quite stable.

You haven't been posting anything useless lately, with whining on the new festive trades going down, and now this buds suggestion. Buds aren't going up for no reason or because people are bipolar, they are going up because Smissmass mass unboxing and hype have ended. Therefore there is less need for keys and more for buds. It's a market trend that has followed suit last year as well. Just like B.M.O.C. Hype bubble, just like old festives rising at Halloween, its a trend. An economy fluctuates normally and at times is very erratic, this site dosent cause that it merely reflects it.

Well not really, people aren't bipolar traders, nor is the economy falling apart. I am just pointing out this is a trend. What you say isn't useless and you have a right to think whatever you like. Regardless it isn't contributing at all in any way. Down voting my comments also dosent help. If you really want to stop this then supply some proof against it.

They get proof to show what the item has been and is being sold for to set a new suggested price, to reflect what the item(s) is/are being consistantly sold for.

I've noticed something similar with Strange Degreasers so I think it translates over to earbuds

- high end traders are inherently lazy about small currency differences, so instead of breaking down their keys they're likely to just pay in keys. I have more trouble selling strange degreasers at "1 key 5 refined" than at "2 keys", because nobody wants to make an extra trade to break down their key. The same goes for earbuds... i think solid key amounts will always be easier sells because traders are lazy.

It is just not about being lazy, it is about emotional traders.

Example:

Trader adds you, wants to buy an earbud.

You say you want 19 keys+4 ref and have no change.

The guy goes out and trades one key for 7 ref.

He gets back to you and now you sold the earbud.

Now he tries with pain to buy a key for 7 ref.

Most trades (except unusuals ) are deals made there and now. If one of the parties holds on a trade, that can give both parties time to change their minds and cancel the deal.

Buds are a currency and right now the trend for the bud is it is rising.

People buying for 20 keys might have some of them counting they can sell the earbud for 22 keys later. So these traders might be less caring if they pay 19 keys+4 ref or 20 keys, since they assume they will get it back soon enough.

Kinda like with keys. You have buyers at 7 ref, but they are counting on getting back their metal+extra metal.

Last when buds were falling you saw sellers at

16 keys, 17 keys+give 1 ref back!, 16 keys+6.11 ref, 17 keys+0.33 ref and so on. Becasue then the trend was downwards and people were more afraid that if they bought a bud today, tomorrow the bud would have been cheaper.

So it is more emotional traders then people being lazy. At least what I think.

Seriously, very good proof and upvote, but I don't know why Buds are used like money, they're very unstable and up/down the price very constantly. I think it aren't necessary for stay like Refineds and Keys and just should be other common item, like Big Kill, B.M.O.C. or Max's Severed Head. Refs and Keys should be the only money for this game.
