Well, first, thanks to babby for pointing out that sale, but he's also a repwhore, and a terrible one at that, so I take back my thanks.
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/16746196
Sold for 13th Hour Detective Noir (3.5-4.5), buyer added Planets Pot (1-1.2 Buds). 2.5-3.3, 2.3-3 after overpay.

He got it in a trade with the following:

Blizzard KE (4.6-5) for Hazmatten + Peace Sergant's (2-2.2) + Blizz Robin (1-1.2)
Assuming Overpay is coming from the side of the Hazmatten, the Hazmatten was valued at around 2.1 or so. Although many of the hats in this trade have old prices, so I'm just leaving this here in case anyone wants to price them.

Sold for a Spy set (GE Ketche + Doublecross-Comm + Amby, 1.6-2 + ~.25). So ~1.85-2.25 before overpay, and he made the offer, so I guess the overpay is on the hazmatten side, making it about 2.0-2.5 buds.

Only other sale I could prove was for a Searing Swagman's, which has an old price (Although that was recently sold for a Gifted UC Lumbricus Lid, which means it can be updated if this passes, which is why I made the suggestion in the first place. Any tips on how to deal with the price of the lid would be appreciated as well)

Conclusion:
So only two pricable sales. The majority of Babby's proof is based on outated prices (I mentioned that too, but I guess he doesnt care if the price is right or not). The Pot added to the first trae actually makes this range far better though, since the Ketche one stays at around 2.3, and now the pot is down to 2.7. But Geez, look at my forgetting to put high ends. Silly me.
It's great to see that you're being mature about this. Whatever, I explained myself in my suggestion. If you want to resort to petty name-calling because someone chose to give you advice (which you didn't even seem to acknowledge) and then make their own suggestion to ensure the final value would be accurate, then fine, go ahead, if that's what makes you happy.
If you wanted the value to be accurate, then why would you use prices that are old and inaccurate? The majority of your proof is invalid, I don't see how that's ensuring an accurate price.
I don't see how posting the advice right before just making your own suggestion can be seen as a nice gesture. But whatever makes you feel better I guess.
where does 2.7 come from?
Average of the Noir trade.
you have to use overpay, so either the low end or middle range x 0.9
I did use overpay. It's 2.3-3 after overpay, the average of that is 2.7.
you don't use averages, overpay would be noir (3.5) = pot (1) + das (2.5)
Users on this site seem conflicted over what to use. I checked yesterday when I made this suggestion and people were recommending averages and using averages.
Also, you don't even seem sure of how to do your own method, "Low or Middle range" is vague and open to matriculation, averages is much more solid and you can't manipulate it as you please. I'm sticking with averages, as it seems to be what this site, bar you, suggests.

Overpay is either the low range of the hat on its own, or the average value *0.9. For example, if a hat is listed as 2.5-3 buds, the price after overpay would be 2.5 or ((2.5+3)/2)*0.9= 2.475 ~2.5
Using this method, the noir sale would be 2.5. The blizz KE sale would result in 1.6, but some of the hat prices are outdated so it shouldn't be used. The ketch sale would be ~2 (since hazmatten was offered, just use the average range without overpay calculations).
Your suggested range is slightly high.
